Sovereign woman, feral mother-
Tender like the soft, dark underbelly of the mountain
Sharp tongued, fire breathing dragon.
Her no as sacred as her full bodied yes,
perhaps more so as time sprawls on.
Sovereign woman, feral mother
Bare feet on damp Earth,
paw prints in the mud, clawed and four footed.
Love sweet and sticky like licking the comb straight from the hive,
fierce and protective like the sting that follows.
Sovereign woman, feral mother
snout pointed skyward,
howls both her sorrows and joys-
both are equally deserving of singing about.
Made up of milk and blood,
fur, skin and bone
ancestors prayers and soul birds embodied.
Sovereign woman, feral mother
continuously dying and birthing.
Tending to the bones and worshipping
at the altar of new life.
Sovereign woman, feral mother
holding both the roots of the ether,
and gripping fistfuls of heavenâs cloud dust,
both precious and eager to be held by one who can shoulder them
Sovereign Woman, Feral Mother.

These foggy morning turned sun drenched orange and yellow autumn days have me feeling incredibly tender. October is such a magical month; that liminal space between the last kiss of summer and the bone deep cold of winter. The veil is noticeably getting thinner and it seems like the time of the year that Spirit is speaking the loudest. Right now Iâm beginning to feel that pull to look inward and tend to my heart-going into the cave for the cold months. In this time I find myself wondering, what medicine wants to be birthed through me and how should it be shared with the world? One way I think is to share more of myself; not the superficial social media bullshit, but the real, no fluff, no masks to hide behind, true north truth of myself. Sharing my writing even with a close friend has always felt nerve racking, so posting it on social media for all eyes to see feels akin to standing naked in front of an audience. I think at this point in my life, I ultimately feel like following the fear and overcoming it is the only way to expansion, so thatâs the thread Iâm chasing.
