Informal official blog related to the webcomic Loupta Ombra. This blog is meant to give quick regular updates on the progress of the comic as well as a place for rambling. The comic was written by OngakuK and illustrated by @mllenugget and has been ongoing since 2016. Read on DeviantArt - Read on ComicFury The comic deals with topics of toxic relationships and many forms of abuse (physical, emotional, domestic, discriminatory), non-sexual grooming, self-neglect, death, suicidal ideation and contains recurring gore art or art depicting animal death. The cameo form is now closed and hot damn we only had a dozen spots available and didn't expect to get a lot of answers in the first place due to our comic having been on hiatus for YEARS But we've received about 30 answers and this overjoys me a lot, I can't wait to get my grubby hands on your OCs, but also it saddens me because we can't fit everyone 😭 I think after sorting out the answers we can or cannot use, we'll have to resolve to do the good ol' random wheel picker 😔

Artfight 😔👎no work done It's ironical that the most popular character in my AF roster is a Loupta character ! She just has yet to appear. Maybe more Loupta characters in AF next year...... Although I am very excited to be in the final stretch before getting out of Hiatus, keep your eyes peeled for our CF blog or DA for more info earlier this month 👀

Employee of the month : The employee of the month started sneezing blood after inhaling a spikelet from, ironically, exactly the plant that I drew in last month post's banner art (and this post too) Don't worry he's fine ! He couldn't care less, he got back up on his legs as if nothing happened. But he had to go to the dog ER to get sedated because he decided to do that past 8pm on National Day when everything else was closed down. Here's a picture of him completely baked.

Was so absorbed by Art Fight that I completely forgot to make an update post lmao So as mentionned previously, I didn't get any pages done because my goal was to storyboard as much script as possible aaand it looks like I've storyboarded a total of 37 pages, which currently brings the comic to 458 pages total (Chapter 3 ended at page 351). That's 107 pages for Chapter 4, and I believe we're only one third done through the script ? Granted it's not complete yet but it's getting there. Hypothetically if those pages were complete, and we were to start publishing them RIGHT NOW with our previous uploading schedule of 1 page a week, it would take 2 years to reach page 458. That's very scary math I just did. let's see how it goes.

Ongaku : nowadays we pay attention to how we name our ocs with themes and whatnot but back in the days we would just pick funny words and stick with it. Like naming a character marshmallow lol

Me : did you know that marshmallows are a plant that grow on the Mediterranean coast and that ancient civilizations used for medicinal properties ?

Ongaku : and then we named a character Klio like the car

Me : did you know that the car Clio was named after the Greek muse of history ?

I avoid reading the two first chapters of LO like the plague, but yersterday I had to because I needed to use some pages as reference. and I remember when I was roughly 17 thinking that the dialogues that we wrote in chapter 1 were wack, especially when Scar and Wolfy are screaming at each other. But looking back as a grown ass adult now I actually think these are pretty fitting for these characters. Both Scar and Wolfy are meant to mentally be 15yo in these scenes, and we wrote this when we were 15, and it shows because the dialogue is "bad" in the sense that these are actual petty things teenagers would argue about.

Granted that my english was baaadd back then so it still feels unatural, but I still appreciate how the conversation is heading nowhere and turns into a screaming match pretty quickly. Like at its core, this scene was written by teenagers and I like that it definitely feels like it. Whereas if I were to write this scene today I would hit a How Do You Do Fellow Kids or make them way too serious.

Current goal for this month is to storyboard as many pages as I can instead of making a bigger buffer like I was doing for the past 6 months.

I want to lay the script in front of me so we can figure out if it’s flowing alright or not, fix as many plot holes as we can spot, see if it works basically.

So maybe no update of the month for June, idk we’ll see

Maybe you get the teaser, maybe you get the cover reveal, maybe none of those, what I’m sure of is that we’re getting closer to reach a point where we’re like « okay we’re confident about getting Loupta out of hiatus »

Didn't meet my self-imposed quotas but that's fine, I know I've been very productive this month both regarding plans for the comic and my personal art. I made a pipeline about what needs to be done before we finally get out of hiatus. We've approved our idea for the comic cover and Ongaku is currently working on it. I'm fine with not completing as many pages as I "should" this month because honestly our buffer is good enough as is, but I really reeeaally want to storyboard as many pages as I can, because I do not want to go back on fixing already published pages because we failed to see a plot hole again. I'm figuring it out as I'm typing, but yeah I think Loupta Ombra should be back on track later this year. Not next month, not three months from here. But like. at some point this year. Crossing fingers.

I was told to give up the whole animating on ones thing because not only was it not necessary for the animation I’m trying to do but that it was kind of a disservice to it 😔 bad news is that I had to get rid of 50 frames, good news is that coloring is going to be much easier and that I managed to clean half of my shot in a single evening so yay

I heard Jeanne is pretty classy sounding in English speaking countries ? (Or maybe I got one guy’d) in France it’s old fashioned, but I could see it make a come back.
