PROJECT: Thesis project topic is chosen by the student, I researched using theoretical and drawing methods during the 1st semester of work and displayed here is the resulting design project -
Urban Play : unique + interactive spaces within the urban environment of the Curtin University Campus.
DESIGN IDEAS: Curtin University Campus, as site to the exploration of the research, is currently undergoing a rapid population growth and searching for potential solutions to reactivate its underutlised urban areas. This project aims to provide an integrated proposal to reanimate space through urban interiors of intrigue and interactivity, creating for the public momentary distractions, social platforms and opportunities to engage with their built environment. The works produced are driven by guidelines drawn from the previously explored concepts of ‘play’ and are further fuelled by additional theoretical inquiries pertaining public space design. Through the investigation of these ideas within three (two have been displayed here) different public space typologies, at varying scales, the project was able to display its ability to function individually but also across the whole campus as a holistic method for reanimation.
PROJECT: Re-design the staff areas within the Architecture/Planning Building using the notion of Skin + Bone.
SITE: Building 201, Curtin University, WA.
DESIGN IDEAS: Through an in class task I developed a building concept that broke down elements of a feather into skin, pulse and bone (shown above) which was then translated into my design. Within the order and repetition focus spaces become evident, the irregular forms create social and collaborative spaces and the crease left by occupants indicates a sense of ownership.
PROJECT: Design a folly that can be used if the power station’s function was that of a spa retreat.
SITE: Mundaring Weir Power Station, WA.
DESIGN IDEAS: The concept was to RESTORE the occupants to BALANCE after visiting the spa retreat, where they are released into the open space and then gently directed to the folly. This multi-sensory experience enables the occupants to ‘smell’ the fresh air, ‘feel’ textures on their feet in the shallow pool, ‘taste’ the growing garden, ‘see’ the natural environment across the gully and ‘hear’ the murmuring of the water..
PROJECT: Extreme, Complex and Bizarre design 50 years in the future.
SITE: Building 201, Curtin University, WA.
DESIGN IDEAS: This unit required groups to think as conceptually as possible, creating a scenario 50 years in the future to then re-design building 201 within that scenario. My group designed for a pre-apocalypse, war and propaganda of the future. Individually my project concentrated on an information and discovery centre for citizens to understand and confront the coming dangers and recruit them to defend.

A collection of Graphic Design projects, some of which was created for my course of study, others were for personal works.
