We all talk about how James is head over heels for Lily. That's obvious for him and for everyone. But what about Lily being completely crazy about James?
It happened later, when they had been friends for months and were getting closer and closer. Some night, they said goodnight after talking for hours about random stuff and James kissed her cheek. Lily felt all sort of animals flying inside her belly. Her heart started beating fast and her cheeks were burning. She had a hard time breathing.
Lily knew in that moment she had feelings for James Potter.
From that moment, Lily was nervous around him, she stuttered, blushed every time he smiled or winked at her, she felt goosebumps every time James ran his fingers through his hair making it messier, and she internally died when he called her beautiful.
But they agreed to be friends and go slow. Lily felt like an idiot, she wanted to go back in time when she was confident enough to send him off. Now she melted every time he glanced at her with that big goofy smile of his.
It was a big switch that everyone noticed. Remus teased Lily because she was too obvious. She wanted to die, warning Remus that if he said something to James he was a dead man.
Except for James himself. He was oblivious. The boy was being careful and he respected that Lily wanted to be his friend and only his friend. They were getting along so well that James didn't want to jinx it.
"Prongs, that girl is into you!" Peter would say "She giggles like an idiot every time you open your mouth"
"She's just nice, Wormy. Because we are friends. That doesn't mean she feels the same way I do"
Lily, on the other hand, screamed into her pillow every night because she was a pathetic girl with a crush and she couldn't help it.
It was the first time she fancied someone for real and it was James Bloody Potter.
