Light yagami’s clear depressive symptoms aren’t talked about enough in the fandom. He is definitely not “just slightly bored” he’s anhedonic and intellectually lonely, due to his intelligence and how he’s always expected to be perfect. (The perfect student, perfect brother, perfect son) He’s popular, yes but he as barely any real friends who he actually cares about. The only people that he does harbour some semblance of care about is his family. No mentally well person would become a mass murderer with a god complex just to feel any form of dopamine boost.

He’s lowkey relatable in this aspect but we don’t talk about that

#I’m always saying this about light’s boredom #like to me he’s bipolar #because you don’t just jump to mass murder in a few days that’s insane #and even if he had succeeded with his plan he would’ve gotten that bored again #and i think he would’ve killed himself after that #just becuz the deathnote was kind of like a short term distraction even tho it lasted a few years just becuz of how many times he had to #come up with a new plan #does this make sense?
