ugly
Ugly is a word said in sneers
with lips curled and eyes dead
cutting tongues on its way out
and hearts, wrists, thighs on its way in.
Ugly is a word said in a whisper
and repeated
over and over and over and over and over
waiting for a sign of objection from
the empty and echo-y room, words, screams
bouncing off the walls to slap the cheeks
cheeks wet enough to wet the towels
that dab away the evidence of
the empty that leaks out of the body.
Ugly is the word thought not spoken
as the baby appears, red and wrinkly
and screaming in protestation at being forced
into life without being asked for consent as
if happiness was a guarantee not
a privilege.
Ugly is the word thought not spoken
when standing at the side of the
remaining body in the ornate and beautiful box,
empty and withered, nothing left for love to grasp
but the look of relief that lies just under
the skin relief at being let go at last.
Freedom at last. Freedom of feelings and numbness.
Please don't delete this I will miss you so much!!! If you need to take a break we understand but please don't leave us! Your amazing! We all love you!!!
My last post was 8 months ago though, so announcing a break now feels kind of ridiculous. I'm saying a week to leave time to see if I change my mind, but it's not looking good.
Thank you for saying those kind words though :) you're very sweet
I think I'm going to delete this. I'm not in a very good place right now, so I don't see when I will ever be able to write again. I really appreciate all of those who read and liked my drabbles. Sorry they were so inconsistent. I think I'm going to delete it in a week. I love you all xo
I sent a request and I'm sure you will try the best! once again congratulations! thank you very much.
I write requests from oldest to newest so you may have to wait a while but it will be written, I promise!
''wedding night'' is the best drabble for me. romantic in the right measure.
Thank you! I loved that one too, it was a lot of fun writing.Â
To all of my followers, thank you so much for all of the new requests! I am a slow writer, I never manage to get round to them quickly but I will do them all - I promise!Â
And welcome to my new followers :)

nick and demi are at demi's house for christmas and they have a quicky
âOh-ho-ho!!â A blush rose to Nickâs face as Demiâs family hooted and hollered at the sight of the pair under the mistletoe. Demi looked at her boyfriend, expectant. He may have been a bit drunk, and he was definitely giddy with the holiday spirit, so he immediately placed his hand on the small of his girlfriendâs back to pull her into him. She tilted her face up, an amused smile across her cheeks at his boldness. He leaned down to give her a light peck on the lips, but she kept his head down with her hand pressed firmly on the back of his neck. The kiss could only last a few seconds, they were in front of the whole family, but Demi got her message across. She slid her tongue over his bottom lip with fervent desire and slightly tugged on the curls at the nape of his neck. When she finally let him go, both of their cheeks were hot and Demiâs eyes shone with a mischievous glee.
âGet a room!â Maddie shouted, causing the whole room to laugh. Nick took her hand in his and raised the back of her palm to his lips. She smiled at him and it was enough to make his heart squeeze. Demi was wearing a dress of deep scarlet that hugged her breasts and waist before flaring out in an elegant fashion. She had taken off her heels earlier, and her tan toes curled on the hardwood floor. Her hair, a deep brown, was down and slightly wavy, falling halfway down her back. She looked gorgeous. And she was his.
Demi joined the group with a few pleasantries, and put up with a bit of teasing, before mentioning something about helping her mother in the kitchen. She gave Nick a smile before walking away, hips swaying. Traitor. Nick was now left alone with most of the family, but conversation was easy enough. He had been Demiâs boyfriend for a while now, so he had grown used to the loud and constant chatter inside of the Lovato home. And thankfully, with Demi gone, most of the teasing was over. He was just listening to one of Demiâs old great-aunts talk about a riveting game of bridge she recently won when his phone buzzed in his pocket.
âSo sorry Mrs. McNealy,â Nick said, backing away slightly while taking out his phone.
âNo, no, no dear, donât apologise. I was just about to go see if the women need help in the kitchen. And call me Sally, please, sweet boy.â She stepped forward as she spoke to pat Nick on his cheek with her wrinkled and powdered hand, leaving Nick with a slight urge to cough and wave his hand in front of his face. He suppressed it and followed Sally out of the room, staying a few feet away to keep out of her reach, just in case. Out in the corridor, he clicked his phone to life and opened the unread message.
Excuse yourself and go to the upstairs bathroom. Now.
He smirked and was about to make his way to the staircase when his phone buzzed again.
That kiss was not enough.
Nick may have sped up his pace up the stairs. A lot.
 ââââââââââââââââ
Nick had just touched the doorknob when it flung open. Demiâs hand reached out to grab his shirt and yanked him through the doorway, shutting the door behind him, locked. A strangled noise of surprise had hardly left his mouth when Demi pushed her body entirely up against his, mouth feverishly pressed on his. Demiâs hands were immediately untucking his shirt, pulling impatiently. He fumbled with the buttons to peel it off and pulled her back against him, the red dress impossibly soft on his bare chest.
âIn your parentsâ bathroom?â he said against her lips, not objecting at all to where this was going.
Demi broke the kiss to hastily crouch down and undo Nickâs belt and jeans. âGuest bathroom. Waaay sexier than my old bedroom. Too private.â Nick couldnât respond, for Demiâs small hand had made its way around his growing erection and had started to pump up and down. They were in a rush, and Nick knew it, so although he was in seventh heaven, Demi had only worked a few stifled moans from deep in his throat before he pulled her back up to his lips.
Nick deepened the passionate kiss, gliding his tongue across her so that all he could taste and think was the remnants of fruit and mint and Demi. He kissed his way from her lips, along her jaw and to her neck, sucking in the exact spot that made her gasp every time. âNo⌠evidenceâŚâ she gasped out. Her breathing had quickened as one of Nickâs hands teased her breasts, the other still tangled in her hair from earlier, but Nick stopped sucking on her neck, though he still left a red mark in his path. He moved instead to Demiâs earlobe, where his breath sent shivers down her spine. When Nickâs hands glided down her sides and slipped beneath the thin fabric under the dress, a moan escaped Demiâs lips.
Nick smushed his lips against hers, cutting it off. âShh⌠we have to be quiet.â He pushed his thumb on the small bundle of nerves between her legs, and she squirmed in pleasure, lips smashed together to hold in the next sounds. She had always been very expressive during sex, and staying quiet was its own cruel, sweet torture. So was the fact that even as Nickâs fingers flicked and squeezed in ways no one else had, ways that made her buck her hips against his hand, all she wanted was him inside of her. And they were running out of time.
âPlease.â The word came low and urgent, bursting out of her chest with her next moan. Nick shushed her again, smiling, but grabbed his dick all the same. He guided it through her folds, wet with desire, making her squirm impatiently again. Suddenly, he pushed into her, and he could see the effort it took her to hold in her surprise. He was not so skilled.
âFuck,â he said, too loud. Demi was tight and warm around him and, although familiar, never failed to surprise him. He felt the pleasure flowing through his veins as he began to thrust, meeting Demiâs hips. Demi felt her stomach contract every time he thrust into her again, and felt her pleasure grow, too. It grew in the pit of her stomach, warmed as her clitoris rubbed against Nickâs rough hair again and again, as he hit that spot inside again and again. Minutes passed with the same muted moans, frenzied kisses and sweaty caresses. Nick didnât think he would last much longer, and it was clear that Demi felt the same. His breath was fast and hot on her skin. When he came, releasing into her, his hands curled in the folds of her dress that was bunched at the waist. It was the final thrust of his release that pushed Demi over the edge, and she, once again, couldnât hold in a small cry of ecstasy.
They stayed in the bathroom, pressed up against each other, until their breathing had slowed. After a few pats of hair and the straightening of clothing items, they opened the door. After making their way individually downstairs, Demi to the kitchen and Nick to the sitting room once more, the same thought crossed both of their minds. Thank god for big houses.Â
Set of CR2. Nick helps Demi with her bucket list.
This took a loooong time to write. And I donât plan on looking it over. Whoops. Anyway, hope you like it!
"Hey, Demi?"
"Yeah?"
"What are you thinking about?"
If she was being honest, she wouldâve said how scared she was about the future. How everything was happening too quickly, and that she felt she was falling down and down, but couldnât grab hold of anything to slow her fall, like Alice in the rabbit hole. Lying there on the grass, star gazing with Nick Jonas felt too surreal, even if they had been friends for a while. She still felt 14, felt like she was meeting all these celebrities for the first time. She had no idea how the years had slipped by, and was terrified before she knew it sheâd be old and wrinkly, with only pictures to prove that any of this had happened. Pictures, and the movies. But still. She felt as if she was staring at a clock, counting down to her death, and she wasnât using the time. It was stupid; Demi knew she was technically doing a lot more than other people her age. Even so, itâs what she felt, what was occupying her mind as she looked up at the Canadian night sky, endlessly stretching on. It hurt her mind.Â
She rolled on her side to face the boy lying next to her, putting her hands under her cheek. He was already on his side and had been watching her. Demi knew about his crush, and sometimes she desperately wished she wanted him too. He was just more good than his older brother. Not better, more good hearted. But at the moment, it was only platonic love for the curly haired boy. She exhaled, and watched her breath cloud the chilly air in front of her. When she replied, she focused on it as opposed to his eyes. âBucket lists.â
"Bucket lists?" Nick questioned, raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah. Donât you have one?"
"I guess. Not officially, but there are things I want to do before I die. Nothing set in stone, but should the opportunity arise I would definitely do a few crazy things just to say I did them."
"A rebellious and risk-taking Nicholas Jonas? Who wouldâve guessed?" she teased, smiling.
"Ha ha, very funny.â His sarcasm always made the corner of her lips curl upward. âWhat about you? I mean, whatâs on yours?"
Demi paused, mouth open. She had one, but most things she didnât want to voice. âI want to learn another language.â
"Hola," Nick interrupted with a smirk, making her cackle and shove him lightly.
"You know what I mean. And, um, I want to go skinny dipping."
"Wait, youâve never gone skinny dipping?" Nick was shocked, and his eyes widened.
"Nope. You thought I had?"
Nick blushed, and hoped she couldnât see it. âYeah. Youâre just so⌠outgoing. Adventurous.â
"Humph, I guess Iâll take that as a compliment. But, no, I havenât. What else? Thereâs all the silly ones, like sky diving, bungee jumping, all those stupid things. I want to go to every continent, not including Antarctica. Waaaay too cold. Then thereâs all the mushy stuff, like have kids and a family. I want to go hitch-hiking. I want to help a charity in a big way. Like Angelina Jolie? How she goes to all those countries? I feel like thatâs better than just giving money, not that you shouldnât give money. I want to write a book. Donât know what about, but I do. I want to release an album that only has songs Iâve written on it, with no help. Living in another country would be super cool, even if only for a bit. Send a message in a bottle. UmmâŚ. Donate blood! Thatâd be cool. Learn to surf, in Hawaii of course. I want to ride a gondola, like in that Italian city? Whatâs it called again?â
"Venice?"
"Yeah, Venice! And stay up aaaalll night watching horror movies. I want to watch the sunrise with a warm cup of tea in complete silence for the entire time. Learn to paint. Wish on a shooting star. Ummm⌠Iâm sure thereâs more, but thatâs all I can remember."
Nick had been captivated by the look in her eyes, a mixture of excitement and longing and something else he couldnât quite identify, so his reply was slightly delayed. âJesus, Demi, do you plan on doing anything else? Thatâs a lot!â
She just grinned in response. Silence fell again, and Demi began to suspect that Nick had fallen asleep. Time ticked by, and as it did, Demi was very sure that someone was going to catch them out there and tell them to go inside, so there wouldnât be bags under their eyes the next day. But Demi didnât want to sleep. Not at all.Â
Demi jumped in surprise when Nick sat up. He didnât notice though, and her alarm grew to confusion as heâŚÂ took off his shirt?
"What are you doing, Nicky? Sleeping with you was not on the list.â She said it jokingly, but then cringed when she realised he may have been offended. She bit her cheek and dug her thumb nail into the skin of another finger as punishment, but Nick didnât notice. He stood up, topless, and reached down to help Demi stand too. She looked up questioningly.Â
"Letâs go," he whispered, voice animated. He didnât let go of her hand, and pulled her into the forest.Â
She couldnât decide which question was her priority so she asked them all. âWhere are we going? Why are you whispering? Why are you shirtless?â He smirked and shushed her. Abruptly, he stopped.Â
They had reached the end of the woods and were standing right before the lake. The night sky was that beautiful shade of blue so dark it was almost black. The stars were scattered, like in those painting from pre-school where youâd use an old toothbrush to flick them everywhere. The moon wasnât full, just slightly bigger than a half-moon. It cast just enough light for them to be able to see the way the wind carved ripples on the lakeâs surface. Stretching out before them, to Demiâs surprise, was a long dock. It didnât take Demi long to guess why no one had ever mentioned this spot before; the wood looked as if it were a hundred years old, green-brown and rotting, and she didnât think it would be able to support a squirrel, let alone two teenagers. But Nick stepped out onto it as if it were made of steel, leaving his shirt in a puddle on the floor behind him. He turned back to smile at her, silently encouraging her forward. She cocked an eyebrow, expecting answers to her questions. âAhem?â
Nick turned fully to face her. âWeâre going skinny dipping, which answers both where we are going and why I am shirtless. And Iâm whispering because I donât really feel like explaining why we decided to go skinny dipping in the middle of October, do you? So, keep it down, Lovato.â He took her hands and led her forward onto the dock. She shivered, and Nick let go. He had to turn away to hide his blush. Why am I blushing? Why the hell am I blushing?
The night was not as chilly as it couldâve been, but it was still October and the air raised goose bumps on Demiâs arms. But all she had to do to defy the instincts telling her to bundle up and go inside to the warmth was look into Nickâs eyes. He was doing this for her, and sheâd be damned if she didnât seize the opportunity. Her fingers brushed her stomach lightly as she slowly took off her shirt, making a shiver course through her body once more. It joined Nickâs on the floor. She grinned up at him, and hurried to match his speed in taking off his jeans. He looked away while she undid her bra and pushed down her pants. They were both completely naked, and were in the middle of a fit of giggles. He reached out to link his hand with hers and took off, dragging her behind him.
Demi ripped her hand from his and bolted forward, racing him to the end of the dock. She sensed his body tense and race forward too, and their laughter echoed around the lake. They reached the end of the dock and launched themselves forward. They hit the water hard, and Demi twisted in the water, squirming against the cold. The squeal was making its way up her throat and she barely broke the surface when it left her lips. âHoly shit, itâs cold! Nicholas!â
He only laughed deeply in reply and splashed her. Demi squealed again, and splashed him back, flattening the few curls that had managed to spring back to life on his head since resurfacing. The two had barely lasted five minutes before they had to get out. Demiâs teeth were chattering, and Nick swore his fingers were turning blue. They were standing there, stark naked, when they both realised the crucial flaw in their plan. âNickâŚâ
His yeah in reply was more a groan than a word; he knew what was coming.
âDo you happen to have any towels?â
â⌠No.â
âNick!â she shrieked, only half joking, and whipped around to push him off the dock. He let out a very girly squeak before going under. Demi ran off, but couldnât control her laughter. She had reached the front of the dock by the time Nick had pulled himself out of the water, and struggled to put her jeans on her soaking body.
âDeeemi, youâre gonna pay for that!â Seeing Nick running towards her, she skipped the jeans all together and ran off wearing only her shirt and underwear, jeans bundled up in her arms. Nick did the same, but only had time to pull up his boxers before he took off after her.
Demi ran and tripped and ran some more, trying to avoid her inevitable capture. By the time Nick had caught up with her she had reached the clearing they were laying in just a half hour before. Exhausted by that time, Demi collapsed to lie down again, clutching her sides and laughing. Nick mentally forgave Demi, shrugged slightly, and lay down beside her, breathing heavily. âSo,â he panted, âthatâs one thing you can cross off of the list. And hey, if we make it to sunrise, Iâll make you a cup of tea. Howâs that?â
âPerfect.â She scooted over closer to him to rest her head on his outstretched arm.
âAnd one day, youâll do all those things. I promise. But you gotta bring me along when you do the crazy stuff, kay? I need to make sure you donât go to some frauds to push you off of an airplane.â
âHey, give me some credit! Iâd make sure they were safe. Iâm not stupid.â
Nick just chuckles. âAnd I want to go to Australia with you, need to make sure you donât get bitten by anything nasty, and if you donât have a boyfriend, Iâd like a gondola ride too. If you donât mind. Your list seems pretty fun.â
âYeah well, maybe I donât want you to come. Ever thought of that, my eternal protector? Saving me from evil murdering plane pilots and poisonous snakes?â
âToo bad, youâre stuck with me.â
She stifled a yawn. âYay me.â
Nick pulled her closer and Demi turned into him. He knew she meant it platonically, but he couldnât deny that having her in his arms made his heart squeeze almost uncomfortably and that her breath on his neck wasnât giving him goose bumps, despite her body heat. He ignored it all, and just looked up at the sky. Her breath slowed until he knew she was asleep, but he still just stared up. Until he thought he saw something.
âDemi â Demi look!â
âMm? What?â she croaked, stretching her limbs preparing to sit up.
âNothing. Never mind.â The star that shot across the sky was long gone, and Nick was beginning to feel stupid for waking her up. Sheâll see one another time, when she is awake. âWe should go inside.â
âMkay.â Demi leaned heavily on him, ready to collapse into bed. He crouched in front of her, and without a second thought, not of her weight on his back or her wrists that would hang in front of his face, she practically fell onto him. Hoisting her up, he hummed softly on the walk back.
Nickâs thoughts swirled in his brain even after he had laid her in her bed, thrilled at the thought of being friends with Demi long enough to see her cross of more things on her list. Maybe heâd be a big part of her life, maybe not, but it was a comforting thought nonetheless that soothed him off to sleep. Right before daybreak.Â

âYes?â Nick said, his smirk tilting the words, to the two small hands that had suddenly crept onto the page he was reading.
âIâm craaaaving something,â his girlfriend said, and she drew out the word into a whine, trying to get his attention.
âCraving a good book to read?â he joked.
âNo! Iâm craving food. I just canât think of what it is... And since when do we read?â Demi and Nick had been reading on the sofa for almost an hour, and while both of them usually had a book on the go, it was exactly that â on the go. They usually read when they had a lack of things to do, when travelling, or when they couldnât sleep. And this wasnât any of those instances. âItâs like weâre an old boring couple.â
âI like to think Iâm quite scholarly, thank you very much.â Demi laughed at how he lowered his voice to sound pompous.
âOh yes, very,â she said sarcastically, to which Nick smiled and rolled his eyes.
âBut donât worry about the boring thing; I find your dullness soothing. Helps me go to sleep at night.â
She snorted. âYou better be joking, mister, or what I did last week that delayed your bedtime wonât happen again anytime soon.â
âSex blackmail!â he dramatically gasped.
âThe best kind,â she replied with a wink. With that, the two fell back into silence. Nick was once more absorbed in his book and while Demi looked into the fire, trying to think of what she possibly wanted to eat. Desperately wanted to eat.
âPumpkin pie!â
The two words broke Nickâs concentration. He looked up from his page to raise an eyebrow. âPumpkin pie?â
Demi lightly nudged his shoulder with her own. âDonât raise your eyebrow at me,â she said. Ignoring his resulting eye-roll, she continued, âYes. Pumpkin pie. I reeeaaally want some. Like really. Now.â
âMhm.â
âSo, Darling Honey Buns, would you please go out to get some with me? Iâll even let you have a piece.â
âWell, only because you called me darling honey buns, sugar pie.â Demi wrinkled her nose and giggled at his teasing. âWhere in the world are we going to find pumpkin pie in May?â he asked as the couple made their way to the front door.
âThat, my dear, is why youâre driving.â
 --------------------------
âOh my God, this is soooo good.â
âWorth the hour looking for it?â
âDefinitely.â She took another huge bite.
Nick laughed at her puffed out cheeks, but his expanded just as grandly when he took his next forkful. âHopefully next time something in season?â
âSpeaking of in season⌠do you know what would go really well with the pie?â
He raised an eyebrow expectantly.
âEggnog!â
HOLY SHIT I LOVE YOUR DRABBLES WRITE MORE NOW hashtag wishing mine were half as good
Haha I read your stuff - it is far superior to mine! But thank you for the compliment :) (and thank you for speaking to me - I love company!) I get really nervous that no one cares about my blog anymore because I write so infrequently and it's not even that good and.. I should stop talking.
Should I write now? I have AP exams to study for and speeches to memorise and homework to do...
So I guess I'll write a drabble now :PÂ
I think at some point, weâll release that, definitely. I wanna do a side project with him.
