I teamed up with an incredible Chef Ilkay to create a "Sublime Sexy Supper"!
I created a list of Aphrodisiac foods and Ilkay worked his magic!
From our most ancient beginnings to modern times, humans have spent a great deal of effort searching for the perfect aphrodisiac. Different cultures around the a world have their own particular favoured remedies, potions and charms that are said to inspire the mood for love, invigorate sexual performance or enhance physical sensitivity.
Most people associate love making with the bedroom, in fact the best relationships start in the kitchen!
My list for Chef Ilkay; Avocado, Chilli Pepper, Raw Cacao, Pine Nuts, Lemon, Strawberry, Astralagus, Figs, Honey, Olive Oil
Not only do FIGS look sexy, they’re also thought to be a sexual stimulant, as they’re high in amino acids, which boost sexual stamina and increase libido.
Citrus fruits such as grapefruits, oranges and added LEMON to your water can boost your confidence and performance in bed. According to several studies, vitamin C has been found to improve overall sperm health in men and decrease the risk of infertility in both sexes. Citrus fruits provide a boost to your cardiovascular system, but they are also packed with antioxidants and glucose for improved focus, enhanced mood and decreased impact of stress hormones that can kill an erection and the moment.
Everybody’s favorite aphrodisiac—chocolate!! Chocolate is a universal symbol of love and romance; but if you really want the most bang for your buck, the ideal way to eat it isn’t in a processed, sugar-laden chocolate bar. Enjoying cacao in its raw form will increase your serotonin and dopamine production and flood your body with potent antioxidants. Also, being a stimulant, RAW CACAO may just send you into a state of pure euphoria.
Pine Nuts are a great Zinc source and libido stimulator from Medieval times:
Zinc is a key mineral necessary to maintain male potency and PINE NUTS are rich in zinc. Pine nuts have been used to stimulate the libido as far back as Medieval times. Serve pine nut cookies with a dark espresso for a stimulating dessert or add to salad!
The Sexy Salad; wonderfully flavoured, and incorporating a number of our listed "sexy" ingredients, it's easy the best salad I've ever had...And uber healthy!
Food has healing properties and when you purify your diet it allows past emotions and experiences to rise to the surface so they can be dealt with and resolved. Issues get stored in the tissues of our body and create energetic blockages. Eating nutritious food helps release these stored issues and gives us much more clarity.
The Sexy Shrimp; Strawberry glazed with a hint of chilli (and other secret ingredients).
These Shrimp were tongue-tantalizing ❤
While the legend says that STAWBERRIES originated from the heart-shaped tears of Aphrodite after she learned of her lover, Adonis’s death, modern-day strawberries are anything but a bummer. They’re loaded with vitamin C, which is important for the production of sex hormones and chemical neurotransmitters in the brain to increase libido.
The zinc-dense SHRIMP increase sperm levels and make orgasms more powerful, according to a study in Fertility and Sterility. They also contain a stress-reducing amino acid and the feel-good hormone serotonin.
Sweet, So Juicy, Grilled Watermelon topped with Cajun Salmon Cubes, Cilantro AND Cherry glaze!!! Accompanied by Microgreens, Sprouts, Watermelon, Pumpkin Seed, Carrot, Cucumber Salad.
SALMON is high in omega-3 fatty acids, which is important not only for heart health (hence: why you keep seeing it all over vitamin bottles) but also helps your libido, by supplying the building blocks for production of estrogen, testosterone, and progresterone.
WATERMELON is high in citruline, a phytonutrient that increases the amount of nitric acid in the body, which in turn increases blood flow, blood vessel relaxation, and sexual arousal.
Put Romance into the Kitchen and Passion onto your plate. Here is a different variation of using aphrodisiacs Watermelon and Salmon.
It is the Grace Kelly of fish dishes; elegant, sophisticated and a joy to look at.
It is also delectably delicious and a perfect summery night dish.
Paired with some citrus rind....mind blowing amazing!!!!
The RIND OF A LEMON contains essential oil with mood-elevating properties, and the juice cleanses toxins from your digestive system, oxygenates your blood, and increases circulation – all to heighten your senses and inspire the body and mind for intimacy!
Couples in long term relationships can spice up their relationship by ...taking it to the kitchen!
Bonding over the stove enhances relationships by strengthening communication skills, from picking out the recipe, to putting together a grocery list to the actual preparation of the meal...it's team work!
Make a date night out if it. Cook foods that are known aphrodisiacs such as Shrimp, Oysters, Chilli Peppers, Avocado, Celery, Cacao, Lemon, Vanilla, Watermelon, Pumpkin Seeds, and Cherries! Light some candles for a little mood lighting.
Having a special at-home date night where the two of you can cook a meal together can become a weekly or monthly ritual that you both can look forward to. Having that special time to look forward to helps keep good feelings in your relationship at a high level!
A sexy fun fact: The Aztec word for AVOCADO is "ahuacatl," which means "testicle." But besides the sex-thetic appeal avocados also contain high levels of folic acid, vitamin B9 (provides the body with more energy) and vitamin B6 (which helps increase testosterone production).
CRAB, like oysters, contains very high levels of zinc - a known stimulant for the prostate and therefore an aphrodisiac for men in particular. The act of eating crab and lobster is very sensual. Remember that Flashdance scene in the restaurant?!?
