Because Loving You Hurts (Preview)

Yuri entered the room wet from the rain. He rubbed his arms to keep himself warm while drying his shoes on the mat. Jasmine heard the door and stood to see Yuri. Noticing he was wet, she immediately grabbed a towel and helped dry him. 'Ayos na ba lahat sa baba?' she asked. Yuri nodded. Jasmine nodded back and smiled. 'Maligo ka na. Magkasakit ka pa. Ayaw ko naman may mangyari pa sa'yo.' Yuri smiled, stopped the hand that was drying his face and kissed it. 'Uyy. Concerned.' She laughed a little. He's too charmingly sweet. 'Sige na. Go!' He headed for the bathroom. And as soon as she heard the shower running, she went back to watching Julian. She took a wet towel and started to wipe his face. Bakit ba kasi nangyayari sa'yo to? You're never like this. She was fixing the blanket on him when he suddenly took her hand and muttered, 'Jas, I'm so sorry. Please don't leave me...don't leave me...' It startled her, but she knew he was still sleeping. She stared at him for awhile, remembering the moments when they were still together. Despite what he had done to her in the past, and all the pain and hurt she went through, she realized that she still cared deeply for him... And that thought bothered her. In the back of her head was a question she was too terrified to answer: Mahal ko pa ba si Julian? ----- Yuri got dressed and headed to where his best friend and his girlfriend were. For a couple minutes, he leaned on the wall and watched as Jasmine took care of Julian. I'm so lucky to have her, he thought. 'Kamusta na siya?' he asked, breaking the silence. 'Okay naman.' she answered looking at the man she once loved. 'Sa tagal naming nagsama dati ngayon ko lang siya nakitang nagkaganito.' 'You know he was sincere when he apologized, I felt it.' Jasmine nodded, solemn. Yuri came up behind her and hugged her from the back, burying his face on her neck. 'Ikaw, kamusta?' he asked. She took a deep breath. She knew they had to talk about it a some point, but not right now. 'I'm fine.' 'Parang hindi naman.' She turned around to face him and wrapped her arms around his neck. She stared straight into his tantalizing eyes. Yuri. This guy in front of her was the one who deserved her love. Ang tagal niyang nagtiis. Ang dami-dami niyang ginawa at ginagawa pa rin sa akin. She knew how much he loved her. My future is with him. Matagal na kaming tapos ni Julian, she thought. 'Basta nandito ka sa tabi ko, ayos lang ako. He's my past. You're my present, that's what's important.' She said then hugged him. Even though those words were meant for Yuri, she knew it was meant for her just as much.
