Hi guys. I'm working on getting a GED so I can get a better job that doesn't wreck my body, but it's hard because of the whole "my job is wrecking my body" thing so I'm too exhausted to do anything outside of work. Also I seem to have started having heart problems, so that's a recent thing.

Anyway, I don't have a computer now, but I have a keyboard and a steam deck, so I'm gonna start writing again. Idk if I can do a new game right off, because I haven't tried that on a steam deck and also I will have to relearn how to code and I've not decided if I want to do that is choicescript or in twine. But if anyone would still be interested in my writing in the form of short stories (still written pertaining to my interests that got me to start this blog in the first place), I might start posting those.

Not sure if this been asked before, but... How did Harlem and MC met?

I left that open to interpretation so people could imagine their own scenarios :)

When I write short form stories for readers, I'll intentionally leave bigger details vague when it doesn't presently affect the story so that the reader has more freedom to insert their own headcanons into it. But I also do a thing where I purposely set smaller details that technically don't matter, but I think they help smooth the gap between the person reading it and the MC who is living in the setting I wrote. If that makes sense? So, like the MC's sleep schedule and depression is a set thing because that's emblematic of the world LfS is set in and the kind of people they associate with (Harlem).

Anyway, if you want a starting point, I've had it suggested that they met at one of Harlem's underground fights, after MC saw him in the ring for the first time. So, that's one possibility.

Update on my laptop/writing situation: I have gone down to 3 days a week at work, partly because of my physical health, but also because of my mental health and I am confident once I adjust and am no longer in survival mode, I can get back into writing.

Which brings me to my laptop, of which I still don't have a new one. I no longer need a laptop for gaming so that should lessen the cost of a new one. I still haven't found one that I would like, however. And on top of that, I need to decide if I actually still want a new laptop or if I might prefer getting a keyboard+mouse for my Steam Deck, which is basically a computer in its own right, and just writing with that.

Either way, I am actually starting to get eager to write again. I hope I'm still capable of it lol.

Good news, bad news, and then bad news again.

Good news: I finally worked up the courage to restore and check if Hellbound was still intact, after that disaster where I lost a huge chunk of Cybernecrosis. No part of Hellbound is missing, I can pick up exactly where I left off.

Bad news: I worked a little on Cybernecrosis and sadly I still found the missing sections largely demotivating. I pushed forward on the parts of Blue's route I hadn't already written, until that became too depressing as I couldn't stop thinking about how I've had to go back eventually and redo what was lost, and how I'd really liked what I'd written before, which is now gone forever. So I guess I'm still mourning that a little bit.

And the second bad news: I'm sick lol. I have been for the past 4 days, I called out of work and have been focused on resting. I've got one more day of rest before I try to go back to work and I'm really hoping I'll be pretty much better by then. But that's why I'm still not any more productive.

All this to say, I'm going to be slowly pushing forward on Hellbound, I'm making a small attempt while I'm home sick, and I'll see where I get. I'm giving Cybernecrosis a small rest until the sting has lessened.

I'm sorry, work got really hectic with spring break and a bunch of other stuff going on. It slipped my mind.

Here's some domestic stuff I came up with.

Its easy to split chores with Harlem. He does the laundry and cleans the kitchen and bathroom, MC does the grocery shopping and vacuuming/dusting. Stuff like that. Well, whatever they work out between the two of them. He usually does takeout when it comes to meals, though, so if you want homecooked food you'll have to do it yourself.

Speaking of, MC can move in with Harlem pretty early on. It's obvious they're attached to him, so if they just want to be with him all the time, they can move in to his apartment. He doesn't mind.

Actually, once you get Harlem to the point he's accepting a relationship, and his feelings, he's generally ready to accept all of MC's clinginess and whatever they need to feel comfortable and close to him. They can sit in his lap the entire time they're at the bar, or keep their arms around him for an entire conversation. It's fine.

Movie night :D

Harlem is generally down for a movie of any genre, whatever MC is into. And he'll sincerely engage with it—being Harlem, in his own way. He's not going to do the stereotypical "man rolls his eyes through romance movies his partner likes" thing. He won't like them, but if you do, he won't ruin it for you and it's fine by him anyway. He's not fussy, baby, it's okay.

He prefers watching a movie at home, though, the theatre isn't very comfortable for him.

Anyway, I think Harlem would be okay having a child or two. He's definitely never thought about having kids, and he's not a very fatherly sort. Right now, even, I think having children is very far from his mind. Perhaps it'll never cross his mind.

So it depends on MC. If they really want a kid, he can get to the point where he can be a father. If they don't, he doesn't need it either.

Very, very basic stuff. Bare minimum he needs from a smartphone, as he mainly uses it for communication. Possibly one Gutenberg-style app where he can read books from older time periods, especially the one he was born in as he didn't have a chance to read back then.

Marcella is her name. Actually, Hutch doesn't care that much about Harlem's dating life. He has enough on his plate, dealing with all the other ways Harlem's been a mess all this time. About his past 2 loves, sadly they did not end in the typical way. His past lovers died. Getting involved with a monster like him can draw the attention of the wrong kind of people and, well, now he blames himself. But he knows better now.

Now some facts. I haven't thought about Harlem in a long time, so I'm sorry if I repeat anything I've said before.

He's actually quite cute when he's in a relationship. Basically because he's a lonely person, having MC in his life takes up a lot of his time and thoughts. He likes it when MC thinks he's cool, so he shows off in fights if MC comes to watch. He'll go to a store and see something he thinks MC would like and next thing he knows he's buying it, just because. It's very sweet, but don't point it out.

He does funny things with a deadpan expression sometimes. Smacks MC's ass (lightly) to get their attention. Will be carrying the clean laundry to the bedroom and see MC lounging on the couch, so he dumps it on them. Takes the sticker from a piece of fruit and sticks it to MC's forehead. Basically just Bothers them, in those lighter moments during the course of a relationship. Old man needs to entertain himself after all these years.
