True Linux from scratch: reimplementing the entire kernel from scratch yourself
Modded Basics <-read it here
Master post for this silly little BBAU comic of mine :)
Baldi mods living in the same reality.
The beginning chapters (empty background/simple gradient color) are a test of concept/potential of the story - aka pilot strips - as I've now pieced the story together and the upcoming entries/Arcs are official continuation.
All mod characters + Baldi belong to their respective creators, the only original character is Valentina.
(Current design line-up, will update whenever the next set of characters is done)
so I can keep a specific tag for the series (and hopefully get fanwork pretty please /nf) I'll (forget that I have it for Tumblr-only) have it tagged with #Modded_Basics
Massport Logan Express Nova Bus LFS 2216 (June 9 2025)
I just installed LFS (Linux From Scratch). It only took me three weeks, 1000 cups of coffee, and a complete mental breakdown. 🙃
Happy writeblr live, Sunny!
Tell me more about Legacy of Fallen Stars! You say it’s low to medium fantasy, how do you define that for yourself?
HELLO!! Ty for the ask!! Happy writeblr live! :3
I consider LFS to be low to medium fantasy because in this era and the story itself, there are no sentient nonhuman species that are prevalent, and there are limitations to magic that exists and who can use it.
For example, only 6 people in this story actually were born as mages that have the ability to manipulate an element (without too much in-depth yapping unless you'd like to hear about it, they're basically personified manifestations of the old gods' power and influence in the world for the first time in centuries) and only a select few others have enhanced abilities. There is one man who harnesses the full power of a god at will, but he broke the laws of magic and defied several other gods in the process. If you cannot already guess, he's our wonderfully hatable antagonist.
Other than that, natural magic exists everywhere but is very hard to come by and even harder for humans to harness and use, which is typically via magical flora and fauna, runes (which often require usable elemental magic and energy from the user) or magical artifacts which are few and far between.
There are some nature spirits and the occasional magic plant or creature as I mentioned, but again those are generally hard to find because they've naturally learned over the centuries to stay away from humans as much as possible.
LFS used to be strictly low-fantasy with only the 6 young mages having any semblance of magic, but in the last six months or so I've majorly expanded the magic aspect of the world to fit the vibes better and make it more fun to write!!
The prequel WIP I have is actually set in the same world as LFS but quite a long time before the events of LFS, like we're talking prolly at least a thousand years if not more, and that's more a medium to high fantasy because while humans exist and are *ahem* very prevalent in the prequel, there's a lot of other species and use of magic that exist in it prior to the events of LFS. Do with that what you will :)
Anyway thank you for the ask love! I love yappin about my characters and WIP so if you have any more questions feel free to drop by! <3
LFS the year later attempt
Im assuming most of yall know that a little over a year ago now I attempted LFS, and failed. After 5 attempts (I think it was 5 idk I'm not checking) I couldn't get anything to boot. After a year of learning I'm going to try this again, with a few changes
During Christmas I got a new computer and I haven't really found anything I want to install on it. I've over done Arch, Debian would be nice and stable but eh idk, I'm not drawn to it. I really considered Nixos, buy that would take a lot of time to get used to and I'm really having issues understanding parts of it 😓
So we're installing LFS and looking at BLFS to set up as my main install let's go
The duality of Roselin Books protagonists, lol.
I just realized I don't think I ever posted the full ref art of Christopher and Ann here?! So!! Here you go! And a bonus Avalon for fun!
I guess this also works for art progression because they're in order from oldest to newest, lol. (And my style is developing once again thanks to the influence of artists I follow on here, so Baltan's character ref will probably look different from Avalon's.)
