Free pattern: Neko Atsume #2
As promised, here is the second neko atsume pose pattern! You can find the first, a sitting pose, here. I made Shadow but feel free to adjust the colours to make any cat youâd like. :)
For this particular cat I used a 2.25 mm hook, sport/5 ply yarn, and 4.5 mm safety eyes.
Be sure to stuff very firmly! The number between the brackets after the instructions of every round is the total amount of stitches that will be in that round.
Head
1. 6 in a magic circle [6]Â This will be the top side of the head
2. ( inc ) x 6 [12]
3. ( sc, inc) x 6 [18]
4. ( 2 sc, inc) x 6 [24]
5. ( 3 sc, inc) x 6 [30]
6. ( 4 sc, inc) x 6 [36]
7-13. sc around [36]
14. ( 4 sc, dec) x 6 [30] Â Place the safety eyes between row 10 and 11
15. ( 3 sc, dec) x 6 [24] Â Embroider the snout now if you prefer to do it before stuffing
16. ( 2 sc, dec) x 6 [18] Â Slowly start stuffing while crocheting along
17. ( sc, dec) x 6 [12]
18. ( dec ) x 6 [6] Â Finish off and shut. Leave a long thread.
With some black thread, embroider the snout if you havenât already.
Ear (x2)
1. 4 in a magic circle [4]Â This will be the top of the ear
2. ( sc, inc) x 2 [6]
3. ( inc ) x 6 [12]Â Finish off. Donât stuff or shut. Leave a long thread.
Fold the ears into flat shapes. Sew the ears on top of the head.Â
Front leg (x2)
1. 5 in a magic circle [5]
2. sc, inc, sc, inc, sc [7]
3-10. sc around  Finish off the first leg, but do not finish off the second leg!
When youâre finished with your second leg, donât finish off. Itâs time to merge the two legs into one piece that will be the beginning of the main body.Â
Continue from your second leg and chain 5 sc. Continue from your chain and join it to the first leg, and sc around all 7 sc from the first leg. Make 5 sc over one side the chain youâve just made and sc around all 7 sc from the second leg. Continue crocheting onto the chain and make 5 sc on the other side than the one youâve just crocheted on. You now have a round of in total [24 sc] and you can continue to work in rounds.
Body (continue from the two joined legs)
1-5. sc around [24] Â Start stuffing the legs
6. ( 7 sc, inc ) x 3 [27]
7. sc around [27]
8. ( 8 sc, inc) x 3 [30]
9-14. sc around [30]
15. ( 3 sc, dec) x 6 [24]
16. ( 2 sc, dec) x 6 [18] Â Start stuffing
17. ( sc, dec) x 6 [12]
16. ( dec ) x 6 [6] Â Finish off and shut. Work away your thread.
Sew the head onto the main body, just above the place where the two legs join into one.
Rear leg (x2)
1. 5 in a magic circle [5]
2. sc, inc, sc, inc, sc [7]
3-6. sc around [7] Finish off and stuff. Leave a long thread.
Tail
1. 5 in a magic circle [5]
2-12. sc around [5] Finish off and stuff if possible. Leave a long thread.
Sew the rear legs on the bottom of the body. Sew the tail at the back of the lower back. For some tips on making a tail that you can easily pose, check out the first pattern here. Also donât forget to embroider his adorable tiny butt! Yay, youâre done!

THAT MAN IS A WEREWOLFÂ
My father had taught me to be nice first, because you can always be mean later, but once youâve been mean to someone, they wonât believe the nice anymore. So be nice, be nice, until itâs time to stop being nice, then destroy them.
Destroy them

How to Get Along With Your Slytherin Friend Pt. 2
From a Slytherinâs Perspective
⢠Weekly night of sitting in their pajamas talking about nothing in front of the common room fire is a must
⢠they love experimenting so if they say âHey weâre gonna see what happens if we add belladonna to this potionâ then you need to nope right out of there
⢠for some reason they love candles
⢠theyâre very protective of each other so youâre not gonna be bullied I promise
⢠love books almost as much as Ravenclaws, even Muggle fiction isnât as big of a deal as you may think it is
⢠they arenât easily entertained but if youâre persistent then you can talk your friend into nearly anything
⢠not afraid to talk back and get sassy
⢠DONâT LET THE FIRST YEARS NEAR THE GIANT SQUID PLEASE
⢠theyâre incredibly cunning and sneaky of course so donât worry about getting caught breaking the rules
⢠if youâre a firstie donât be scared of Slytherins they may seem cold at first but trust me there are some great people there
⢠nearly every one of them have stashes of sweets hidden in their mattress just check but DONâT STEAL it they will NOTICE
Slytherins truly being slytherins.Â
Slytherins working with Dumbledoreâs Army. They spread false rumors about where theyâve sighted students. They join Umbridgeâs close circle so that they can learn the moves and plans of the Inquisitorial Squad so that they can warn the DA of when itâs safe to hold practice. They rotate in shifts, some lead the IS on a wild goose chase while their housemates practice with the rest of the army. Sometimes they charm their robes to look like another houses and lead the IS far away from the Room of Requirement as they can before turning a corner and de-charming their robes. They make up stories about chasing students who mysteriously disappear without a trace. Umbridge sends students to search areas of the castle nowhere near the actual Room of Requirement. Â
As Umbridge tightens her hold on the school, slytherin students try to protect their DA friends. They pass messages of encouragement and support to their friends, veiled in threats and taunts. They bully the loudest, but do the least damage; their housemates think that theyâre being cruel, their friends know that theyâre shielding them from actual harm.Â
Slytherin students passing information to the Order while the Golden Trio is hunting for horcruxes, tracking the moves of Death Eaters to the best of their ability. They withstand the dark days in Hogwarts, helping their friends the best they can without looking suspicious. Charmed plastic rats run through the castle hallway, passing messages between the houses. Children of Death Eaters eavesdrop in dark hallways of their homes, holding their breath and straining their ears. When slytherin students suddenly disappear, go home and donât come back, everyone knew what had happened. They mourned privately and quietly.Â
DA members and the Order housing slytherin students who canât go home. Many have to run away, for their own safety. As Voldemort grew in power, it was harder and harder to keep their true intentions a secret. Children of Death Eaters were being pressured to take the Dark Mark, were being drafted to fight for Voldemort, were being told that their friends deserved to die. The students that said no were threatened with death or kicked out of their homes, branded as disgraced traitors. Those who couldnât stand up to their families slipped away in the night. Some died, at the hands of Death Eaters, at the hands of their own parents.
Slytherin students fighting during the final battle at Hogwarts, standing up against family and friends to protect their home. Staring across the courtyard at their mothers, fathers, siblings, childhood friends. People screaming at them; âblood traitorsâ ringing through the air of the courtyard, hurled at slytherins who had their shoulders squared and their chins up. Slytherins having to throw charms and jinxes and curses at familiar faces, people they had trusted. Slytherin students killing their loved ones, being given no other choice. Slytherin students dying while standing up for what they believe in.Â
Slytherin students being more than a stereotype. Slytherins being more than one dimensional villains. Slytherin students being shown as diverse, fully developed characters with a variety of motivations and beliefs. Slytherins being slytherins; proud, ambitious, and cunning. And proving that those things donât mean being evil.Â

Finals suck
For those stressed about finals, please remember to take a break. I remember the stress of getting an A or just barely passing a class. The one thing I remember from college was stressing about not being able to get through one set of notecards for my immunology class and giving up; I literally said screw these notecards I'm gonna watch house and use the skills I have gained to help diagnose patients instead, and I aced that final because I knew my shit. Sometimes you feel like a break is unreasonable, the stress you feel at that point does not compare to the failure you could face. A break even if it's just to make yourself dinner is all you need to let your brain and body recover. I had nightmares about failing, about missing my final because I slept in, and even after I graduated I had nightmares about failing my classes. Please do not over stress.
