I was playing around with taking the illustration style I’ve been using and making game assets with it. The result was a sort of gothic, A Link to the Past Zelda-style world. I’ve been calling the world “Velvet Coast,” and it has a distinctly dire tone and mixes balkan mythology with puritan-era, colonial Americas atmosphere. I love the aesthetic, but feel like it would be a bit too noisy and too hard to decipher in an actual game.
