We’re still very much inextricably glued to HUGOwho’s Holding On, which we eagerly shared last month after the Swiss born singer songwriter and producer reeled us in with its brand of wonky soulful pop and wavey chiming electronica. Also drawing us to the center of it all is his deep rolling, sonorous climbing voice, which sort of reminds of The xx’s Oliver Sims, if Oliver Sims. But we certainly can’t help but make space in our hearts for this new HUGOwho tune now, too, as well as the new EP it comes from. Another is a somber and moody hymnal, a ghostly haunting and heart twisting drifter that lurks in shadows and flourishes in the dark of night. If SOHN and The Acid had a sonic wildchild, it’d probably be as powerfully affecting and deeply cutting as this gossamer alt pop and burning electro soul masterpiece. Another is the title track from HUGOwho’s new must-listen EP, which you can stream in full on Soundcloud, here, or purchase from iTunes, here.

Thanks for being here Tumblr
For when no one else is, I can talk to you. I’m being dramatic. But still it’s nice to be able to write down my feelings. I guess I need extra expression today because I just wrote in my journal but I am still taking to Tumblr.
Ughhhh dating is fun when you’re up but when you’re down it stinks badly. When you’re out having a blast and everything is going great it’s amazing. A few days later you’re still excited about it because of the possibilities that may ensue if everything works out. A few weeks later things take a turn for the worse, when you’re not getting as much attention as you would like, you haven’t heard back or received a call, you’re second guessing yourself, and on and on.
Now I’m really not feeling too great because it looks like my date may have forgotten we had a date. Plus it’s raining outside, sort of badly. We were supposed to go to to a dockside restaurant/bar and have the best time. So much for a third date. It’s the classic “he’s just not that into you” situation it seems. But guess what the worst part is – you will never know why exactly.

I decided to revisit this piece from 3 years ago, this time with Thomas too!
California Topiaries by Marc Alcock
In his captivating series, California Topiaries, British photographer Marc Alcock documents the relationship between houses, plants and trees in the Californian suburbs. In some cases foliage is considered an architectural statement, while in others it seems to devour the very building it surrounds.
