The sun rose today and so does it set -- in most ways, just like any other day. I am grateful today to have found moments of laughter and catharsis, and support from almost everywhere I look. The sun will rise again tomorrow and every day after. But we can't sink into complacency, apathy. We must remember and have faith in the relentless drive of progress. There have been setbacks along the way, but this country has always marched on -- pushing forward, moving toward a nation where everyone is safe and valued -- for the last two hundred and forty years. And it will do still, so long as we're willing to dust ourselves off and keep pushing. Today, we grieve. Grieve for the America we thought was ours and the light we thought we saw. We don't hide from our vulnerability. We show the world our heartache and the passion behind it. And tomorrow, we get back to work.
