this ain’t “showing disrespect”, it’s rightfully pointing out that this is incredibly racist and so, so inappropriate. it doesn’t matter if this game was developed by a Japanese company who missed the memo on how using indigenous cultures and folklore for their own profit is incredibly racist. it. still. is. There’s literally no excuse. If they’re culturally aware enough to use indigenous folklore that originate from an entirely different country, then they should be aware enough to research into the actual history and whether or not it putting it in an otome game is appropriate, especially when they had planned to do an english/worldwide release.

the fact that you got mad over people saying that this is racist and cried that this exemplified “people showing disrespect to asian [culture/people]” is laughable and offensive. nobody was getting made at you, but now you’ve clearly taken sides and made this a thing about “mean, overly sensitive westerners bullying innocent, clueless asian people” like somehow being asian exempts people from cultural appropriation. news flash: it doesn’t. and as someone who is said “asian”, i’m actually offended that you 1) implied east asian people aren’t aware of their own racism and that calling them out is somehow rude and offensive and 2) used the general distasteful “Asian [culture]” instead of “East Asian [culture]” (which it rightfully is) like you couldn’t differentiate between literally all of fucking Asia and East Asia.
