Il senso profondo del 25 aprile

“A me sembra che il 25 aprile nell’Italia di oggi sia a rischio soprattutto perché c’è una parte del paese che ha imparato dalle proprie famiglie che il fascismo non era poi così male e che Mussolini in fondo ha governato bene, ha fatto tante cose buone. E i partigiani invece erano dei poco di buono, dei delinquenti. E che tutta la retorica che si è fatta da allora in poi sulla Resistenza è esagerata, insopportabile.

Poi ci sono quelli che fanno finta di credere che la resistenza l’abbiano fatta solo i comunisti. Come se a Torino la Casa del Fascio presa dai Partigiani non fosse stata ribattezzata Palazzo Campana in onore del marchese Cordero di Pamparato, ufficiale di carriera, medaglia d’argento in Africa, nobile, cattolico e comandante partigiano.

Ci sono quelli che, siccome loro sono di destra e nazionalisti, arricciano il naso quando sentono ‘Bella Ciao’, ‘una canzone comunista!’ quando questa è una canzone in cui si parla di un italiano che si sveglia al mattino e trova il Paese invaso dallo straniero e decide di andare a combattere. Bel modo di essere italiani ostentare disprezzo per questa canzone!

Ma è proprio a questa gente, io credo, che il 25 Aprile dovrebbe parlare. È a loro che dobbiamo rivolgerci per dirgli: i vostri padri, i vostri nonni, sono stati fascisti, hanno creduto in Mussolini! E va bene, un sacco di gente perbene è stata fascista e ha creduto in Mussolini. Questo nessuno ha paura di dirlo. Ma voi, voi davvero avreste preferito che vincessero Hitler e Mussolini? Davvero avreste voluto che le camere a gas continuassero a ingoiare gente? Davvero preferireste vivere nell’Italia delle leggi razziali e della camicia nera invece che in questa nostra Italia uscita dalla Resistenza?

Io credo che anche queste persone che ostentano disprezzo per il 25 Aprile e che rifiutano di celebrarlo farebbero molta fatica a rispondere a queste domande.”
