The return of the King
Hey everyone!
It may sound a little bit unbelievable after this long time (four months....wow.) but I’m actually coming back!
As I already said in my hiatus notice, I was busy graduating over the last months and I’m really, really proud to announce, that I managed to get really good grades for my final score over the past months and only have 2 exams left. (both in the next two weeks)
I’m sorry I didn’t manage to keep the role-playing up for the time of my last school semester, but getting these grades was of utmost importance for my future and I hope all of you understand, that I didn’t stop because I didn’t like it anymore, believe me, I didn’t, but I had to work to achieve my goals.
Thanks to everyone who sent me nice messages while I was gone! I hope nobody is too disappointed, that I didn’t answer...
I really appreciate the love and encouragement that was sent my way while I was gone! (I’m replying to you all, don’t even think about escaping from being showered with my affection.)
As a little forewarning, I’m not really up to date with SPN at the moment and all of the information I have on the show’s latest developments comes from Tumblr spoilers and my friends, who are up to date and told me, so I might need to take 3-4 days to catch up on the episodes I missed.
Still, I am really happy to be back and I hope these last months weren’t too much of a disappointment and I’m looking forward to catching up with everyone I didn’t manage to talk to!
I'm seriously considering going on hiatus/semi-hiatus with Crowley.
Nice people
These people continuously send nice messages to mun and muse, still write with me even though I'm super slow and ARE GENERALLY GREAT PEOPLE

okay, I was bored and this is just hilarious.
(Okay now, I am really, really sorry that it took so long, I hope you like it and still want to write!)
A lantern shone in the darkness. Not the kind of lantern you’d like, bright and colorful, guiding through a dark night like this, no, it was glowing in menacing red and was merely a shimmer,…
(Of course I do!)
The woman with short, curly red hair looked at the Scottish man then down at a 4 year old girl, her niece. The little girl’s face fell hopelessly, looking at the empty jack-o-lantern bucket. All night they’d had rotten luck, getting to the houses just as they ran out of candy. No way was her niece going home empty-handed. This guy had to have something. The woman motioned for her niece to go down a couple steps then turned to the man, speaking low and softly.
"Look, dude, we’ve been up and down this whole street and not a single person has candy left. This is her first time out trick-or-treating. So, are you sure you have none?" She pleaded.
She had begged her sister to let her take her niece, Nancy, out, persuading them to stay home and watch movies Nancy couldn’t watch for years. And she definitely didn’t want to go back home with a crying, candy-less Nancy. Her sister would not be impressed. And she knew she was being totally irritating but there’s no way a guy with this big of a house didn’t have a least a measly butterscotch lying around.
Crowley was not sure whether to be annoyed, impressed or amused. A whining child was one of his worst nightmares and not only since he became a demon. Of course, he could just pop up some candy from nowhere, though that meant leaving his door open, which didn’t seem like a favourable option. Other option was to just slam the door shut in front of their noses. But that woman had already decided to push him and she wouldn’t just stop because of a shut door, or at least that was what he feared.
"I am afraid I don’t.", Crowley answered coldly. With all his willpower, he suppressed the urge to just call Juliet and put an end to this human madness that was Halloween. She was already growling lowly next to the stairs a few meters away. He silenced her with a small gesture.
"Please.", he added, "it is not in my interest to ruin neither this child’s evening or yours but I live alone and come from a place where Halloween is not a somehow national celebration. I was not prepared for children ringing my doorbell." He tired to sound at least a little compassionate. "Especially not when I have a sign at my entrance where it states "private property".", he said in a challenging tone.
His callous tone had off-set her at first but as he talked, she was beginning to feel a little sheepish. She never even considered that he wouldn’t be familiar with Halloween. And she had missed the sign. She looked back and there definitely was a sign. “Oh my god.” She groaned, hiding her reddening face in her hands. “I’m so sorry. Oh my god.” The child stared up at them, becoming bored. “Ya know, I think I’m gonna get out of here. I’m sorry.” She stuttered. She was tripping over her own feet to get back to her niece and get out before she embarrassed herself more.
"No problem.", Crowley replied an actual smile on his face. His evening was safe. Or, at least that was what he thought. Juliet had suddenly started to growl at something close to the gates, and it for sure wasn’t another illiterate trick or treater.
One of the demons that he had ordered to guard his place approached the incident. Well-trained killing machines, capable of keeping everything unwanted out. Normally, they’d roam around the garden freely, but they still were killing machines, letting them do so on a night like this would without any doubt lead to a mass murder. And that on Halloween.
"Well then.", he said, "I’ll make sure to have some next year." They were already halfway through his garden, when horrifying screams emerged from the point where Juliet had growled at. A young man stumbled out of the bushes, handsome and well-dressed. Though the giant iron pole stuck in his chest was even more outstanding. Yet, it didn’t seem to keep him from running.
"Not again.", Crowley mumbled as he was coming closer. Before he had come here, there had been a group of shape shifters living nearby. Of course, they didn’t really like their new neighbor and had attempted an attack several times. When his demons had gone for them, some of them had escaped and continuously tried these suicidal attacks. They were just too predictable.
He pulled out a gun and shot, first in the shape shifter’s head, then the legs and finally through the heart. The resulting view gave him a lot of satisfaction and he was already mentally returning to his sofa when his eyes caught sight of the two humans in his garden. Crowley had completely forgotten about this.
She’d covered Nancy’s ears and pulled her close when the man came running in. Dragging both of them to the side, she watched in horror as the man stumbled towards the house. That’s when the gunshot came. She didn’t realise it at first. It sounded more like a broom snapping. But then she saw the blood coming from his head and stifled a scream. Then three more shots to his legs and heart. This was so her luck. She would walk right up to the door of a murderer. And now she dragged her niece into it. It’s not bad enough that she was there, but so was the girl she considered a daughter. The man looked at her and her niece, as if suddenly realising they were there. Like a deer in the headlights, she gaped at him for a moment then picked up her niece and booked it to the gates. She had to get Nancy home and call the police. This was just too crazy.
"Oh, bloody hell.", Crowley mumbled under his breath. He couldn’t let them get away just like that. They had seen too much. Crowley whistled and with one fluid, fast movement, Juliet leaped up to the gates, standing right in front of it, blocking the way for the two and growled. "Sorry girls.", he said, shrugging before he walked over. "As I said, you should have stayed out." With a snap from his fingers, the little girl’s eyes lost their focus and were staring in the distance. "Might not be suitable for a little girl to see all this."
Killing was no option. These two definitely had family somewhere, letting them disappear would most likely have the contrary effect. He didn’t need hunters on his heels. Letting them go, of course, was even less effective. The only option he had, was to alter their memories, but Crowley mentally winced at the thought. From everything he could do to keep this incident a secret, this was the worst. Messing around in other brains always possessed a certain risk of leaving the person in a catatonic state. And an altered memory always had flaws. As it was said, nothing lasted forever. It could last from a day to decades.
"I suggest you don’t panic.", he advised the woman, while ordering Juliet to be quiet. "Nothing bad will happen to you or whatever this little girl is to you." Then, after all he would have to leave. Hanging up some dead trick-or-treater would have been faster.
"Nancy, Nancy!" She yelled, shaking the girl. The girl mumbled, "Auntie Katie" a couple times, not processing the situation. "What did you do to her?" She yelled at him. She let go of the kid for a second to try again to head towards the gate but she could still feel the hot breath and hear the growling a very large, very invisible dog. She groaned in frustration. "Just let us go. I swear to God I will not tell anyone about what you just did. Please! She’s only four. I’m the dumb ass who came here in the first place so if you’re going to hurt anyone, hurt me." Katie’s heart was pumping faster and faster as the adrenaline rushed through her. Was she going to die? He said nothing would happen but that’s what they always said and before you know it, there’s a bullet in your brain and your dead and what would happen to Nancy and… Okay, she was on the verge of hyperventilating. She had to calm down. She could not be a help to herself or Nancy if she was panicky. But her heart kept racing and her breathing was still quick. They don’t teach you in yoga class how best to control your breathing when you’re trapped in a yard with a killer and your niece with an invisible thing guarding the only exit.
"Calm down, for hell’s sake.", Crowley ordered her. There didn’t even happen anything yet, still this girl already lost it over a hellhound and her half-conscious niece.
"She’s just spacing out a little, that’s all.", he replied, annoyed because of her panic attack. Why did he have to deal with something like this? Did he mess with someone more or less important without his own knowledge?
"Listen, it’s your lucky day, darling.", he started, waving Juliet back a little. The hellhound trotted to it’s usual place, right next to him, where it sat down, ears up, listening to every single one of it’s owner’s words. "As much as I’d love to kill you-" He made a dramatic pause. "-Nothing personal, but I like to have my privacy and you slightly disobeyed it, plus the things you weren’t supposed to see-", he said, waving his hand as if he was trying to kill some fly, stopping again. "But I can’t.", he finally stated. Next time he’d just stay in hell. The fact, that he contemplated about doing this reflected exactly how bad his day was.
"You and your niece will go home tonight and never remember what you unfortunately have experienced here. It will be a tasteless Halloween decoration, just like the rest of the street has.", Crowley talked slowly, in a suggestive tone.
"So we’ll just forget this ever happened?" Katie replied. She picked up her niece and balanced her on her hip. "How exactly do you plan on doing that?" Her niece began to daze and nod to his words. "What are you doing?" This vaguely reminded her of that time she went to see a hypnotist with a friend and the hypnotist tried to convince her she was a rabbit but it didn’t work. "I can’t be hypnotized if that’s what you’re trying to do. Not very original." Katie rolled her eyes at him. She didn’t know where her snarky attitude was coming from. Must be the comfort of knowing she wasn’t gonna die.
As she did, Crowley rolled his eyes. This woman was asking too many questions, the fact that she wasn’t about to die definitely had given her some of her bloody confidence back.
"Curiosity killed the cat, darling.", he fired back, twirling the gun between his fingers. "Anyway, you aren’t in the position to ask questions, aren’t you?" He took a few steps towards her, the gun still in his hand. The little girl started to mumble and pulling faces. "Right now, your niece is having a little nightmare, but when something good crosses her mind, I’m sure it will pass.", he explained, grinning menacingly. As long as he had the niece, he had this woman as well.
He swung back and petted Juliet’s head as he passed her. “Plus, my methods are a little more unorthodox than you might have experienced before.”
Katie looked at her niece, trying to shake her out of the trance. “Come on man. You’ve had your fun so stop messing with her.” Now she was really regretting leaving the house at all. She should’ve taken tripping on her sock and into her dresser as a bad omen or coming in late to work when the bitchy assistant manager was in. “What are these unorthodox methods you’re talking about anyway?” Her niece was calming down but she was still shaking. She looked at her niece, kicking herself internally for bringing her here.
"So many questions. Do you never get tired of that?", Crowley asked, starting to see the whole situation with a little more amusement. Now that she didn’t know what was happening she was already a lot less confident.
He snapped and the young girl was calm again. “I don’t think that waking up your little girl would be the right choice, don’t you agree?” Juliet had taken a particular interest in the corpse on the ground and was chewing on his left arm. Blood was splattering all over the place, dying the grass in a crimson red.
"If it wasn’t real that would’ve been a lovely decoration.", Crowley marveled, taking a step away to not get splattered with blood. "But none of this will be your concern darling, you will remember a splendid night of trick or treating with your niece." Hopefully for a time long enough to get himself out of sight. "If you would be kind enough to let me do my work." His demon servant nodded as he passed him a look, confirming he would knock her out if necessary.
Katie just sort of looked at the blood squirting from the corpse, bringing up her hand to shield Nancy’s eyes. But then she remembered she couldn’t see anyway and let her hand fall. “Alright. Do whatever just let us leave.” she consented.
“That’s the spirit.”, he cheered and came close enough to touch the little girl’s forehead. She was still in the trance he had put her in. When he touched her, for a second her eyes weren’t strangely starry-eyed as they had been, before she collapsed and her body was caught by his demon.
“Tomorrow, she will wake up and remember nothing more than having a bad dream.”, he promised. “And the same goes for you, darling.”, Crowley added, as he walked towards her. Well, if everything went as planned.
She glanced worriedly at her niece and looked to Crowley. Then she closed her eyes. “Just get it over with.” She said. Katie wanted nothing more than to forget tonight even happened.
“Gladly.”, Crowley cheered, before deleting her memory as well.
-
As soon as his demons had brought these two back to where they apparently had come from, he had taken immediate actions to finish his business in this place as fast as possible. After two days, when everything was done, Crowley left and had never been seen again.
His look gazed over the faces of dull, humourless businessmen as he walked. Typical big city environment. Christmas decorations were hanging in shop windows as if one was supposed to bloody drown in it. And only few weeks ago there had been pumpkins all over the place.
Halloween. It had been over a year since he had to erase these two humans’ memories. No hunter at his heels, no headline about a crazy woman, no sign that his spell hadn’t worked. Until two months ago, he had ordered his demons to take care of any problem that might occur, still the woman wasn’t showing any sign of remembering and Crowley’s experience told him, that she would never remember again.
The coffeeshop he entered was more stuffed than any shop he had passed, even though like every winter, humans had decided to prove capitalism at its’ finest. Not that he really was surprised, even overly expensive coffee became successful with the right connections. Well, coffee wasn’t his intention anyway, the barista was far more remarkable, a young law student from a conservative, religious home, “open for new experiences”. Crowley would have sold his soul, if he still had had it, just to meet his family once.
His thoughts were rudely interrupted by being pushed so harshly, that he almost fell to the ground. “Bloody hell, watch out.”, he snarled angrily, turning around, before he suddenly froze in shock.
The next morning when Katie woke up with a bad taste in her mouth and her sister at her door, she had a black spot in her memory. It was like when she got her wisdom teeth removed as a teenager and she couldn’t remember going home from the dentist. And that terrified her.
But what terrified her the most were the nightmares. Nightmares of a man being shot, her niece shaking in fear, and a Scottish man with a gun. They came at least once a week and she woke up covered in sweat and breathing heavily. She never told anyone about it. They’d think she was crazy and her sister would have her committed.
A year later she almost had her bachelor’s in Film Studies with a minor in English. She’d moved to a larger city, as she’d been offered a position at a top film school and they’d gladly transferred the credits to have her there. Katie was writing a horror short film, partly inspired by her nightmares. It was titled, Scots and Guns.
She was going to her favorite coffee shop, where she always went to work on her manuscripts. The manuscript for her new short film was printed out and stapled together. She was going to look over the comments her teacher wrote while downing a couple peppermint mochas.
Luck was totally on her side today and as she was entering, an impatient man had shoved her roughly as he walked to the front, causing her to collide with another man and drop her manuscript. When she turned to apologize, she froze completely. It was the man from her nightmares. Her eyes became wide, giving her a “deer caught in the headlights” look and she bolted from the shop, running out into the street, barely avoiding the cars. ‘He can’t be real. He was a nightmare. He can’t be.’ She thought, barely thinking straight.
Crowley was about to try and save the situation with apologizing and some silly small talk, when she stormed out to the streets, running for her life, almost losing it as several cars around her suddenly had to stop.
"Well,", he told the man staring at him with a confused expression, "didn’t expect that.", before he exited the shop. Outside, he didn’t have to look far to see where she had stopped. Passing people gave her weird looks and muttered to each other, wondering what that strange person might be doing.
Carefully, Crowley approached her, trying to hide himself as much as he could in the crowd. Wouldn’t be good for his reputation, she ran away from him screaming.
"Hello.", he said, as soon as he was in a range audible for her. His hands reached for the blade in his coat. "I advise you not to scream.", he told her cheerfully.
"You are supposed to be a figment of my imagination. Just a nightmare." She said, running a hand through her hair. Well, at least she always thought he was a nightmare. Suddenly, it all came back. That whole terrifying night. Her entire head pounded painfully and she sunk to her knees, holding her head in her hands as her eyes teared up from the pain as she relived the whole thing once again. After a few moments, the pain subsided but she did not get up, not yet trusting her legs.
"I can’t fucking believe this." She whispered. "I just can’t believe it. Why are you here? Why am I remembering? You promised I wouldn’t remember that night."
"Well, darling -" Crowley watched her, dropped to her knees, with disgust. Why did they always have to be so overly dramatic? "-my magic would have worked if you weren’t so bloody headstrong!" He almost shouted the last words. Everything could have worked out perfectly fine, but no, of course it didn’t.
"I guess we can’t do much about the situation, can we?", he contemplated, lightly shrugging at his own statement. He couldn’t kill her right in the open, she couldn’t run because he would definitely take on the opportunity to get rid of her.
"Why don’t we chat a little?", Crowley suggested and sat down on a park bench a few meters away. "Tell me about you. Don’t be shy." He grinned like a cat that was about to kill a mouse.
She looked at the bench suspiciously. She honestly just wanted to run away but right here was safe. There were people around so he couldn’t do anything to her right? But he was also a demon. Would a couple people dissuade him? She shifted nervously on her feet then decided stalling was probably the best course of action. She sat at the other end of the bench and looked at her lap.
"What do you even want to know? I study film, I’m almost done with my degree, I’ve gotten a couple awards at a few horror film festivals-" She stopped and looked up as if she just remembered something. "Shit fuck. My manuscript! I’ve gotta go get it." She got up and started making her way back to the coffee shop, ignoring Crowley.
"Bloody hell.", Crowley cursed before he followed her. All he wanted to get her out of the way, either the one way or the other but he wanted to damn do it already. And she constantly was running away.
"Listen, darling-", he snapped, "there are two ways to handle this, at the moment everything is pointing at the less fortunate option." If only this wasn't an open street. "I can offer you a deal that will be a lot more pleasant than altering your memory if you would stop and listen to me for more than two bloody seconds."
Several men and women were shooting pitying looks at both of them and Crowley heard "break up" somewhere in a muttered conversation between two girls. "I would even prefer that.", he mumbled to himself. Then his own head didn't depend on it.
What is this weird "icon scrolling" thing....is it new???

(To Mun) Happy New Years!♥ Hope you have an awesome 2015 :D (To Crowley) Am I getting my new years kiss, my king? ;D
((Thank you! <3 hope you had a good start into 2015!))
Darling, I’m beginning to suspect that you had quite a swallow out of that champagne bottle. I’ll pass.
this guy is so great
Ughhhhhh
Well, as I announced, I am back! And we're starting 2015 with some bad news...
I have a problem with my inbox, I don't receive new messages on my laptop, only while using my phone. Secondly, many messages I send appear to not arrive where they're supposed to. (I had this problem on my personal blog a while ago too and it just kinda solved itself so I'll just wait I guess.)
School starts in a week and guess who procrastinated still is doing important stuff and is currently panicking (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
So if you want to talk, I'm a bit slow right now and it can take a few days...
