Honestly so demotivated to post anything. Nothing performs well, nothing seems to reach people, so what the hell is the point? No to mention, anything I post, I have to be aware it *may* be used to farm AI slop without my knowledge. I fucking hate the internet soooo much nowadays, it's either a desolate wasteland or a warzone between "I'm right, you're wrong, so now I feel the need to destroy you!" Or some shit like that.

A Problem of Our Own Making

New year, new post (i don't think I've posted anything since October oops)

Drew this mostly out of spite. Which tends to be a great source of motivation tbh.

Not to get super political on this one, but. I'm an artist. Against lots of forms of AI. Shocker.

Can AI have uses? Sure. Is it widely being misused and causing more harm than good? Also yes. I don't like it, I don't like how unregulated it is, and I don't like how it sort of feels like we're living in the start of some dystopian science book that was supposed to stay fictional. I'd like to go back to when I didn't have to constantly have thoughts like; "am I gonna be able to provide for myself for next year?", and, "Ai slop is everywhere, I will never make it as an artist."

That'd be great. Or, y'know, get laws put in place so AI can't be so harmful anymore. That'd also be great. Would love that.

Genuine question that's been burning in my mind for a while.

Why isn't spider silk used for fabric? Like silk from moths?

I know silk moths are domesticated and significantly easier for people to handle than spiders, but, does everyone forget how strong spider webs are? You can knock them down, yeah, but they rarely ever break apart- they just fall off what they're attached to. Or stick to whatever you take them down with. Would they be too sticky to use as a fabric or material?
