Teriyaki Chicken Ramen Burger
I am a huge fan of Asian fusion cuisine. The ramen burger was created at Smorgasburg in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. It combined crunchy ramen noodles with a beef patty and was garnished with pickled vegetables. The "bun" of the ramen burger was slathered in Kewpie mayo. There are Japanese and American elements to the burger. It is the quintessential weekend snack after a day of shopping and errands. I grew up going to hibachi (Japanese steakhouse) with my family every month. It is one of my happy places and I have the best memories indulging there. I always ordered teriyaki chicken with crispy fried rice. I drew inspiration from the nostalgia to develop a Teriyaki Chicken Ramen Burger with scallions. Scallions helped bring a delightful flavor and texture to the burger. My home kitchen smelled fantastic!
