Your SKK fics are stellar. You capture the dynamic between them well without sacrificing any part of either Dazai or Chuuya’s personalities - Chuuya is allowed to be crass and violent and Dazai is allowed to be, well, himself, and it’s so refreshing to see that. Even in your fluff fics, they’re bickering between each other while still enjoying each others’ company (to some extent), and I love how you write that.

This part in your SKK Hanahaki fic (You’ll feel it when you’re ready): “Then, I guess we’ll have to find some kind of centerpiece to display all these fucking flowers.” Chuuya laughed softly, running his fingers through Dazai’s hair, catching at knots and pulling them before he continued. “I mean, if this shit’s gunna go on forever I’m not wasting them all down the fucking drain.” THERE’S SO MUCH EMOTION HERE. I love it, I love how it perfectly sums up how Chuuya feels about Dazai and the problems they both face and how it affects Dazai so much to hear it, I just love how you took all the problems of Hanahaki and love and Dazai’s upbringing and combined it into such a Chuuya-like view and answer.

I remember being a little nervous when we first met I was like “ok so we have different ships first off how do I approach her” but I’m glad those worries were unfounded and we became good friends!! Your fics make me melt. They’re just so beautiful and the way you describe movements and imagery is so fluid - heck, reading your work is making me want to practice until I’m can to provide a fraction of how much feeling I read from your work.

Also the dynamic between your skk is so well-written - their characters and bond feels so real - I’m not sure how to describe it but Chuuya and Dazai feel really three-dimensional? It’s a bit scary but in a good way, and I like how you were able to flawlessly adjust their behaviour according to setting (Dark Era skk, ADA Dazai and Chuuya, etc,) which further immerses the reader into whatever you write!

I already said you’re a wonderful writer but it bears repeating: the way you write each character, with attention to detail and careful balancing of the various facets of their personality, makes for some of the best soukoku fic I’ve ever read. I didn't comment on any of your fics this time, because their already amazing... but I just really wanted to write a short message of love for you. And a lot of thank you's. Yiting, thank you for being a good friend to me. The first time I got into the server, I thought I wouldn't have any friends there; but I did make a lot of friends, and talk a lot about the things we have in common, and one of those friends is you. You are one of the online friends I have who listen to my problems, and I always have fun talking to you; I personally do enjoy talking to you or reading your fics and love for Soukoku, even though I'm not a SKK shipper myself (you are probably one of the writers who are going to convert me to SKK, though XD) Again, yiting, thank you so much for being a great friend, and I hope your days get better and better!

Goodness. What a gift to be given your work to read~! Your writing is beyond beautiful in so many ways. The number one thing that sticks out to me is tone, which may be an odd thing to compliment, but it’s one of the most important things for me personally to make something a “favorite”. A good tone, the feeling I get while reading something, is a real present I rarely dare hope for when I read fan-fiction, but you have absolutely nailed it. Each word you write is so perfectly placed and well timed that it makes a distinct feeling in each of your works that is absolutely irresistible. Despite how harsh they often are, there’s a calming feeling to them, like you’re being guided through an experience, and this can become very unsettling when you are reading your angstier stuff. You feel very off-put when you're  reading a child get murdered, but it’s told in such a way that you feel so helpless that is beyond that of normal fiction. I absolutely just adore how reading your stuff makes me feel. I think your amazing word choice and metaphors are a big part of this. Like I mentioned, you’re so precise with it all that it just… makes it all perfect. I wish I was better with words, so I apologize if none of this makes any sense.

I think my favorite thing of your’s that I read was chapter three of until death frees you from, “somewhere, in a different time, perhaps”. It literally stole my breath away reading it. After reading it, I sat there, trying to recover in a way that’s hard to explain. I just… it wasn’t exactly that I was sad or devastated, I just felt so much that possibility that was brought up that it made me weak. Please never stop writing. I need this tone in my life more than I can ever describe.

I know you’ve posted a few times about struggling with getting new fanfics out on time, but please don’t be so hard on yourself!! Hello hello~! Qavsell, it’s your giftee here!

So I visited your AO3 to look at the fics you’ve written and saw that you’ve only written one fic for BSD; I checked it out, because this particular fic concerns Sakaguchi Ango, and reading that name already makes my heart jump. It’s so refreshing to see a fic dedicated to such an underrated character. (I love Ango too, and you are right; he does deserve a hug).

Reading the summary, it also immediately took me into the story, and it had me worrying for the possibilities of what is happening to him; already the word “overworking” seems to be taking a toll on me. But I’m complimenting your summary because it is very well constructed, and it manages to talk about what the story is as a whole.

Finally, I read the fic. God, qav, I just have so many words to tell you; I did bring it up on an AO3 comment, but those aren’t really the only things going on in my head. 

But, as I’ve said, not everything is said in that comment. I’m writing here the full length of that comment, and what I truly think of the fic.

The way you described Ango’s fatigue in the very first paragraph – may I quote the reference to the time in the clocks, “the time was always too late, too early, too soon, not enough” – and more on him overworking himself until day came and his coworkers came a-coming; you could seriously just relate to him, even if only a little bit.

When it was said that working had to be right for him – that work could be the only way to make up for the mistakes he made… agh, it made me wince. It made me feel sorry for the guy, and I love him too much, which is exactly why I loved this because you presented the very conflict that Ango can’t seem to truly get out of in such a good way, that it makes the reader feel sorry, but also relate to in some way (and also wonder to themselves what exactly he did… until they remembered his friendship with Dazai and Oda before. Well, to me anyway ^^;)

Also, the worry of his coworker was exactly me when I read the part where his nose started bleeding. God, you have no idea how much I whimpered at that part. And him in the restroom, vomiting, him looking in the mirror and realizing how tired he really was… aaaaa it was such good writing!! I really wanted to hug Ango at that part ;o;

But the ending, where he realizes that he should really do get some rest… aaa it felt so refreshing – relieving, actually. The feeling of knowing that Ango finally does know that he does need to rest is so good… gosh, that last sentence. I really love that last sentence.

Aaaaand this is what I have for you!! ;o; Your way of writing and words is so good, and in this fic I actually got to see what it was like in the workplace with Ango, even if I’m not in a position to understand what it really is to be like him. The atmosphere and the choice of words to describe things, the tiny little details you put in the fic, it’s all so good and so aesthetic. >////<

Overall, I really really enjoyed this fic! I hope you do write more, even if it’s only gonna be about your favorite characters (like Ango, per say). I’ll be sure to read them because like I said, your writing style is just brilliant!

I was so glad to have been assigned you as a partner for this, because I got to read an absolutely beautiful piece of writing that I otherwise would not have known about.

Your Ango fic is still on my mind, I’m legitimately rethinking my interpretation of his character because of how good your introspection for him was.

Phenomenal talent! I also deeply enjoy your general writing style, and wish to hopefully write more character focused narration and descriptions like you have in my own fic in the future. You put such a strong tone into your writing, and you really commit to that tone the whole way through in all of your word choices and sentence structuring, and that’s just so clever and wonderful to experience as a reader. The way you write also conveys powerful emotion that blends with your descriptions in such a way that I feel as though I am in a movie theater and on the edge of my seat. For example, when Ango’s nose was bleeding and he flips through the pages and has that moment where he notices the blood and starts to panic my gosh, I felt nervous, it was so real and powerful.

I will be revisiting your fic soon, in student mode instead of fan mode to see what I can learn from it because it’s just so good!

We don’t talk much, but I can see that you are a kind and friendly person, and I would like to wish you the very best day ever! I hope you eat all your favorite foods and do all your favorite things and smile a whole bunch because you deserve it!

Qav has very quickly become one of my best friends ever since I met her. She seems to always be so bubbly and bright and fun-loving, and to boot, she is incredibly intelligent and one of my favorite things is just to listen to her ramble about something like stats! Even if I don’t understand them at all, it’s still fun learning new things and she does a great job at explaining when I have a question! She’s also a great writer which is like, double bonus points because she’s so talented and her writing is so raw and beautiful; I feel like she has a great grasp on all of the characters she writes for. This reveals who I am, but getting to go to the zoo together was the best day of my summer last year, and I’m very glad we got to do it and I hope we have the opportunity to hang out again soon! I admire how you aren’t afraid to stand up for what you believe in and think is right, especially in fandom spaces - you’ve motivated me to be more public about the things I like and to not feel like I have to hide as much online, and I truly appreciate your love and acceptance.

In all of your fics (I’m recalling your Fuku and Kuni fic you wrote for me a while back!) you write with a sense of maturity about the characters that is so rare, especially in BSD. The way you explain character motivations and what they notice is done in a way that treats the reader as an adult - things aren’t spelled out except to give context to how the character is viewing the situation.

Keep being yourself and keep making waves wherever you go. I can’t wait to see what you create next.

I was a little nervous to get you because I really look up to you, but I should’ve known that would make it that much easier to send you lovemail! Your writing is so effortless to read and I adore it. The flow to each one of your works that I had the pleasure of reading was so perfect that it was an absolute joy to do so. There isn’t a hitch in your writing at any point that may give your reader a pause unless you very much intend for it to be there, and I just don’t know how you do it! Your dialogue especially is hard to envision a person being able to sit and write with how in character and perfect it is. I imagine it had to come from the character’s themselves, a little like how sometimes we forget an actor is an actor when they’re doing an especially good job. It’d be easy to fool me into thinking that you didn’t even have to pause in writing it before it came out fully formed, perfect as it is. You are also endlessly clever, both with dialogue and without. Every scenario you come up with is unique in its own way, and not where most people would ever take certain little ideas. You clearly care a lot about every little thing you write and you put so much thought into it that it shines through clearly and I hope you know that! Reading something from you is always a breathtaking experience, and I wish I had better words to emphasize this. So all in all, I suppose I’ll just have to say that you are great at what you do. Thank you so much for sharing your work and I’m excited to read more in the future.

Oh, Lane, Lane, Lane… What a beautiful person, both in and out.

I still remember the first time we met; although I believe we did have some brief interactions in a big BSD server at one time previously, it was through a mutual friend or two that we were actually introduced, and from the very beginning, my impression of you was completely spectacular and I liked you a whole lot, though I likely never said it enough due to the fact that I was admittedly quite shy around you at that time, along with the fact that there was a small difference of opinion that we had that made me feel…that perhaps you didn’t like me so much — though that quickly turned out to be nothing more than my own paranoia, looking back at it now. lol

I think that is one of the things that I really like and admire about you; as someone who is very used to having the very uncomfortable and unpleasant interactions that all of us pro-shippers and pro-stanners face in a world filled to the brim with closed-minded antis and cruel people with hardened hearts, talking with you has always been, by contrast, very refreshing and soul-healing given your capacity to accept and love even the people who sometimes have a different viewpoint than you on things.

To me, your presence has always been and always be very comforting; I am a very insecure person, and many times I second-guess myself and beat myself up over things I really shouldn’t, and that has often led to me feeling awkward and even doubting my own welcome in the Fic Support Server we’re in together…but every time I have started feeling that way lately, you have been there to reassure me otherwise and make me feel wanted. You really have no idea how much you’ve helped me in the time we’ve been there, and how much you’ve saved me and made me cry happy tears every time you’ve showed interest in my words and even said you valued my thoughts and opinions and hope to hear me talk…

Out of everyone in the server, though I love you all each very much, you really are one of the people I feel bonded to the most and though I know you are insecure about speaking at times, you are also one of the people I love engaging with the most and also hope to hear from in turn. I really wish that I could properly express how much I adore you as my friend and how much I enjoy hearing all of your takes, but I think that even if I went on for another few thousand words, it still wouldn’t be enough and I would still be dissatisfied with what I’ve put down here and just keep droning on and on until you were bored to death with all I’ve given you to read. That’s a problem I always seem to have when it comes to things like this; that I don’t know how to communicate all of what’s in my heart without just going on forever, because try as I might, no matter how much I say or how I say it, I can’t help feeling that there aren’t enough words in any language anywhere to truly bring my feelings to life in front of you and make the people I love feel all of the love they deserve to feel.

Be that as it may, I’m certainly going to try and to hope and pray that somehow, someway, you’ll hear the sound of my heart pouring out all of my respect and admiration through the things I have to say. When you’re out there facing the hardships you face in fandom and in life, please just know that I am always here and supporting you to the best of my ability, my dear friend, for you mean the world to me, and every time someone says something hurtful to you or your tastes, I just want to erase it all and make it all right for you again, because you are amazing and all of your likes, your faves and your ships are, too.

First off, thank you so so much for your part in running the BSD server and just being a great person. Thank you for carving out a wonderful space in this fandom to share ideas openly, eagerly, and honestly.

Your characterization of Atsushi is some of the best I’ve ever seen in the BSD fandom. You encapsulate his hope and youthful outlook while not ignoring his maturity and the fact that he’s seen and lived through some horrible stuff.

Also, you write so much!! You’re so devoted to writing for BSD, and each fic of yours is really long - I always find myself amazed and inspired by your devotion to taking all of these great ideas in your head, *actually* putting them down, editing them, and then posting them! You have on more than one occasion inspired me to actually *write* instead of leaving an idea content in my head, and I can’t thank you enough for that.

Finally, the way you write fanfics reminds me of parts of episodes - whenever I read your fics, I can close my eyes and picture the characters saying what you’ve written, moving how you describe them, and thinking the thoughts you’ve given them. You know how when you read something really good and on point and you can just imagine the fanfic coming to life in the same art style and aesthetic of the original material? That’s the feeling I get whenever I read your fics.

First: Your contribution to the server and amount of DazAtsu fics are amazing. Also the way you write this pairing is so sweet? They play off each other so well? Second: The ratio of kudos to hits on AO3 are abysmal. I also apologize for potentially spamming you with some as I binge through your work. 

 When he was feeling bold, he took Atsushi to festivals and made sure to guide him to food stands he knew he himself enjoyed. - “so close i can almost taste it” 

This was so disappointingly in character. You’ve got the cast’s little quirks down to a T Also in regards to this fic - it was so cute!! I especially liked the chocolate taste-testing, courtesy of Kyoka - it felt very natural (I could genuinely imagine this happening in canon) and your work is super creative. The reveal at the end played out really well too! 

 “Aw, was Atsushi-kun checking me out?” He asked, mischief dripping off his words like a leaky faucet. - “Whispers In The Wind” 

 I wrote this already, but seriously, your characterization is really good. Dazai’s usual whining and teasing really does match the metaphor! I adore the way you string words together (throughout all your works, not just this fic specifically) to bring the story forward!

I’m so glad I’m able to write lovemail to you, because I’ve honestly been wanting to for quite some time. I adore your writing for a lot of reasons, but the first that comes to mind is definitely how well you sell established relationships. With a lot of established relationship fics, I find it really hard to believe because the characterization is very… strange, at least to how I envision it. You do not have this problem. You slip into the relationship so easily, to the point that needn’t even get so far as to get actual confirmation to know that these two characters are together, love each other, and are perfect for each other. They just… are. And they are wholly together in a way that’s so easy to believe in terms of canon. The characterization is spot on, and elegant and perfect and I could ramble about it for longer than is strictly appropriate. That’s not even to mention the writing! Your style is so distinct, in so many little memorable ways. From the way you format things to the way you chose your words, it’s easy to recognize and I adore not only that consistency, but how well you make it work. You write distinctly like you and not like anyone else and it gives me endless joy to read your writing. I also just want to take a quick moment to mention how well you describe surroundings. You can paint really vivid pictures of the environments the characters are in, but only in a way that  makes it relevant to other things going on already in the story. It’s so easy to literally see where the characters are at any given time and you feel completely wrapped up in the world and the fic because of it. This - This was just in the start of your fic and it’s already reeled me in! I love how the phrase is here again; it’s a very effective use of repetition! You’ve got me excited for Chuuya’s entry, and Atsushi’s reflection is already digging depth into their dynamic!

I love them. This is the first ChuuAtsu fic I’ve read and while I’d never disliked it before your writing made me fall for this ship hard. Your pacing is also so good? The plot just kept playing in my head and the conversation flowed in a very natural manner. Also I’ve read your other BSD story and really liked how you strung Rimbaud’s thoughts together! Jail and I don’t talk much, but I think it’s always a pleasure to see her around on the server when she pops in! She’s always so bright and bubbly, and her love for the rarest of rarepairs is adorable! I especially loved seeing her mini drabble about her Poecott fan child as I really like the trope of gifted characters realizing that they are gifted! I’d totally be interested to learn more about this OC and the world of BSD as she sees it, and what other fan children Jail may have! I went to go check on your works and saw that you have only one fic written for Bungou Stray Dogs, and what’s more, it’s your gift from the Secret Santa event we both have attended! So I decided to read the fic, because I saw Dazai/Atsushi/Chuuya, which is a ship that warms my heart very much. I’ll read anything that involves them, honestly, even though not much because I’m too rarepair-focused for anything else. But for you, I did read the fic.

Oh boy, you have no idea how much I loved it.

The summary was, in itself, interesting enough. Unfortunately, I did not come to wonder about the possibilities of Atsushi joining the Sheep and being under Chuuya’s leadership, at least during the timeline of Fifteen, so that was new for me.

First sentence of Chapter 1 and I’m already laughing at Dazai and Chuuya’s bickering. You’ve got them very in-character here, honestly; Dazai and Chuuya bickering for days on end is just hopeless, haha. But you still stayed true to what happened in Fifteen, even if Atsushi had replaced the two Sheep kids who went for Chuuya. Chuuya and Atsushi’s friendship here is just so sweet – with Chuuya keeping Atsushi’s tiger-ability a secret to the Sheep and all. And the comedy. The bickering. God, it’s the best.

Oh, but that’s still Chapter 1, alright. I really loved Chapter 2, as well. There’s still the bickering, of course, because of course Dazai and Chuuya are not Dazai and Chuuya if they aren’t in a quarrel, even if just once. But what really makes this chapter shine is the action behind all of it; I got to see Dazai who’s always in the middle of the action, planning together everything and piecing things together for the mission to be a success. Chuuya, of course, is there, and he’s just as much a valuable partner and asset to Dazai in this chapter, even if Dazai won’t say it. They’re partners, Double Black, and this chapter proves such point.

I also really like how they met with Atsushi once again, and the awkwardness, and Chuuya being defensive for him.

“I wrote that we needed assistance, and promised a sum of money.” “…You bribed Atsushi?” “It’s only fair, seeing as he’ll be running into danger with us.” “If he gets hurt, I’m killing you.”

This little exchange made me laugh. Agh, same, Chuuya, same. One of my favorite conversations. I love it, estelle.

But this chapter, overall, has action and mystery, and you added a bit of spice to everything that makes it so good… and of course, the collaboration between Chuuya, Dazai, and Atsushi adds to the whole package. Also, that one little detail where Mori wanted to stop the experiment mentioned made me love the guy even more, even if you did not intend for it… I think. But yes, Mori sending Chuuya and Dazai on a mission to stop an experiment and project that’s capturing ability users and using them as super-soldiers is just… honestly, it’s just one tiny detail, but through this you’ve shown how Mori can be a great leader with even the tiniest bit of compassion in him. Maybe it’s just me, though, while I was reading Chapter 2 ^^;

And then we get to Chapter 3, where finally we meet the super-soldiers and is the Atsushi-centric chapter here. There’s still a lot of action, of course, and I love it. But what I really love most about this is the way you’ve written Atsushi’s own observations to what is going on, and also how useful his transformations can be in the heat of a battle. They succeed in the mission, of course; I feel a bit sorry for the super-soldiers, though. And of course, by the end, you really did have to add yet another Chuuya and Dazai quarrel. I smiled at the last sentence, when it was stated that "Maybe he wouldn’t mind seeing them again, after all”. Honestly, I won’t mind either; in fact, I want more interactions of SKK + Atsushi in this canon-divergence.

We don’t talk much, but I can tell you are an incredibly sweet and good, talented person and honestly I’m so lucky to have been assigned to you because I got to read such an absolutely wonderful fanfic! Like, wow, you totally blew me away!

First of all your writing style is so smooth. Everything feels natural and fast paced and fun, I flew through the story because I was just so excited to see where it was going and delighted to discover the answers. You’re dialogue is fantastic and so incredibly in character, especially for the back and forth between Chuuya and Dazai. I’ve read several “15” era fics but yours stands out to me as incredibly well characterized. I super love the tone of your fanfic, and the feel of reading it, there’s mystery and action but also quite a few hilarious little one-liners that had me laughing out loud because they’re so parsecs and your descriptions are so clear that I can just picture the scene in my mind. This whole fic is honestly a gem!

Additionally, the way you write young Dazai is SO in character, and your Chuuya is an absolute badass and I love him so much. It’s so clear you have a deep grasp of who skk are at 15, and that knowledge is coming through clearly in your fic and makes it so good to read.

Atsushi in this piece is also wonderful! I love the way this AU backstory creates a bond of friendship between Atsushi and Chuuya, this pair is so exciting and I’m thinking more and more about how I’d like to see content of them after reading your fic because your words have opened my mind to their dynamic in such a fresh way.
