My Story on how I came to know Christ
Christ has always been in my life style, I went to church every week, you know. Well, as I started to get older like about 10 or 11 years old, I kinda put God in the back of my mind, like I don't need you I got this, that kind of stuff. Well, then my uncle introduced me to bands like Skillet, Thousand Foot Krutch, and RED. Well, those bands and their songs totally hit home with me, my life was forever changed.
But, I never accepted Christ to be my Lord and Savior. Early this year, February 19,2016, to be exact, I came to Christ. But, I think is was because everything I had been through growing up.
Growing up, I was supposed to be a foster child but my grandma took me in like her own. I was sexually abused, I had to take care of 3 brothers and 1 sister by myself by the age of 2 because my biological mom couldn't take care of us. I'm thankful that God got me away from that life style, but it didn't stop there. When I was 5 my dad found a gf and they got married when I was 7 years old. Well, I wasn't very happy with that plan. I felt like I was being taken into a whole new life style that I didn't want, and not to say I understood nothing. As I got older we found out that I have R.A.D. which is a attachment problem, I can either attach to much to the wrong people or I can attach not enough to the right people.
By the age of 12 I understood what it meant to not do anything alone, but I felt very alone at those times. Well, when I turned 12 me and my parents started to go to this concert called Winter Jam and I started putting church in my life style again. I was told that I am Not Alone and that there is a God out there that can save me and HIS name is JESUS CHRIST! I gave my life to Him when I was 14 years old. So, February 19,2016, will be a day that I will never forget.
I give thanks to Skillet and RED for their songs that they are writing for the Lord because if it wasn't for them doing that I wouldn't be who I am today. I will tell you all the songs that have helped me through everything.
