VERY QUICK NEW PINNED POST FOR NEW PEOPLE !!!

hi my name is nami, i will make this look fancy i promise. but for now this will be it. if you want in depth UPDATED RULES, go to @vitrumbra or any of my other new blogs, they have it. i will add it here as well (probably tomorrow!!). i'm 23, i'm a 2d animator and work full time as an organizer of comics and other collectibles!! i use it/its pronouns and despite my horrid sleep schedule, i am in the EST timezone.

my interpretation of king is HEAVILY HEADCANON BASED!! i do mostly follow canon, but i have had my characterization since his very first panel showed and thus he has evolved well past what we get in wano arc. that being said, i am fully caught up with one piece and love the character he got in the manga. i follow it to a t, plus lots and lots more.

COLOSSAL NOTE !! king is a literal freak, he loves torture, he's an expert at it, and considers it an art. i do not hold back this side of his character. if you are easily triggered by gore or psychological horror, i do not recommend following this blog. that being said, i ALWAYS ask before i get into something like that, as those sorts of plots / threads require plotting and communication between writers.

GO FOLLOW THERE TOO!!! i love that goat, and i often hyperfixate on my ocs way more than my canons :) come here.

another very important part of my king is that he is a whole ass father !! he has three kids, although as of the comic canon, he only has two! that being his twins kit(pentacle) and pup(chalice). they are both available as side muses and are literal little guys!! they are hidden, but if you'd like to have your muses know about them, just let me know and we can talk about it.

silence. that, perhaps, was the most telling part — she let him speak, let every sharpened word fall and settle like ash between them. her pink eyes watched him the entire time, unblinking, curious in a way that wasn’t quite human. not offended. not angered. for a moment.

studying. she was doing what she did best. she observed. to lilith, king wasn’t a man in that moment — he was a mechanism. a pressure system. something built to contain far more than it safely should.

and oh, how predictable pressure systems were.

a slow smile tugged at her lips, not wide, but maybe mocking — just… knowing. he called her cowardly. how interesting.

“cowardly?” she repeated in mock offense, tilting her head as if testing the word for structural integrity. as if it were a hypothesis rather than an insult. lilith dared stepping closer — deliberately, perhaps a little reckless. like a scientist approaching a volatile experiment she already understood the outcome of.

her gaze flickered briefly to his clenched fists, then back to his face. he thinks containment is strength, she mused inwardly, almost amused. outwardly, her voice remained smooth, measured — devoid of the emotional flare she seemed had shown just moments ago.

“in my experience,” she began, shrugging her shoulders as she did when distancing thought from feeling, “those who label others as cowards are usually very invested in not examining their own methods too closely.” she circled him slightly, just to disrupt the stillness that clung to them when no one spoke.

“you admit your selfishness like it absolves you,” she continued, tone light, almost conversational. “as if awareness is the same as accountability.” her eyes sharpened, a glint of something colder slipping through. lilith stopped again, just off to his side now, gaze angled toward him but not fully meeting his eyes. he was so tall, her neck was staring to hurt from looking up.

“and cowardice?” she added, quieter now, more precise. “cowardice is acting out of fear. i don't hear fear in my own reasoning,” she said simply. “but i hear quite a lot of it in yours.” her smile returned — faint, clinical. "aren't you a weird one? you don’t explode, king,” she concluded, almost thoughtfully. “you compress. and monsters like that don’t need enemies to destroy them. they just need time.”

the studying eyes of a scientist looking at a machine to deconstruct. a tool to use. assumptions, as well--how theories often permeate a scientist's tongue; an attraction to such as children are to sweets. her own words were met with his own silence--he didn't need to speak; hadn't needed to respond until it had concluded. even then, how he debated to not respond at all. absolve himself of the conversation and conclude the useless rabble disguising itself as a conversation of equal figures.

he knew who was higher in this--he knew who would rise to the top and who would, perhaps not now...perhaps not for years. who might fall to their own whims of discovery, of self destruction through the creation of their own death. a design so well crafted that only that tool might fell them. perhaps king was that tool--alber, a subject locked tight atop cold metal while tools and scanners ran endlessly to discover his make. it reverberated into his mind as a storm's rain batted upon the sails of a lost ship--threatening to break through the fabric that had long since lost it's trust.

" cowardice is allowing someone else to move your hands to their means. to submit to those greater than you, letting your tools be used for means unwanted. "

words vague yet filled with an uncanny calmness. emotions caked beneath gilded paint that held it tight. perhaps accurately to her description, compressed. he, who takes it all in then allows it to burst out--to rise to it's boiling point then turn it tail to it's enemies. he did not burn alive, after all, all else who his flames touched did.

" they may not need enemies, but you've done it quite easily. driven yourself closer to the bear and poked, but i don't bite. "

not now, not this time. his teeth sank in when they knew they would not have to let go. he, a beast made by it's king. a mimicry coated in oil--awaiting it's moment to ignite.

maybe his hatred was fueling some weird form of satisfaction within her, as she simply couldn't stop fanning those flames to burn even brighter. it was a game, dangerous and incredibly unreasonable, but oh so much fun that one humble scientist just couldn't bring herself to stop. maybe she did love watching those flames of pure hatred burn, maybe there was nothing more entertaining than the chance of facing death.

how many more times would she have to stir the flames to see something more than a man who behaved more like a dog on a leash than the dangerous pirate he truly was. one could call it the patience of a saint - but he was so far from being a saint with blood on his hands. they weren't as different as he wanted to believe.

"my crime, huh? i do wonder about that. i haven't been around to use my mind against you back then. you're a bit older than me, no? besides, how can you blame me for doing my job with my life on the line when you do even worse as pirate? how many people did you kill not because you had to but because you felt like it?"

it wasn't neither entirely wrong nor entirely right as she might not have been around physically but sharing a mind with six others individuals might just make her as guilty as her very creator. but who was she to admit to any fault? she had never been designed to apologize as she was the evil persona, not the kind one, neither the gentle one.

"how sweet of you to burn me alive then. i might consider your offer someday. maybe i do have to test my bubble gun against you and lock you up like we did with the seraphim when they didn't behave."

hatred. how many saw it as the most heated emotion; the one that burned with emotion that overpowered all else. abhorrence and rage; what an explosive brew it was to develop over time--yet the powder keg of king's own emotions remained stabilized; held within. how with the more he felt, the more inside he became. the less outward his emotions came across. a habit that grew efficient in having when dealing with the disposable and irritating assets of the beast pirates. when raising frustrating individuals amongst kaido's rabble. when manipulating those he would otherwise see as weak in their mental.

it was that stability that took over the longer lilith's words were met with his ears. the irritated wave of emotion washed over his eyes, then promptly faded away. washing away with a rain of invisible ashes in his mind.

perhaps king would never claim himself a saint, nor a hero, nor even anything good. how far he had fallen from that claim; perhaps a god by blood--as his kind were known when they remained upon the grand line. now, however, he was more an angel fallen, or a demon raised from the flames of hell. those that had hurt him, skewered and burned--boiled and rotted amidst his machinations.

the thought of letting her yammer on, letting words fade into the background. like a tantrum throwing child. a child had an excuse for their insolence, it was with fury that he couldn't excuse an adult of such high intelligence so full of malice and daftness. how could someone so smart be so stupid? poking the flame with a wooden stick rather than one with a rubber handle. did she not know that that stick would eventually light ablaze? to burn her as much as she may be collapsing the coals?

finally, when she concluded, did king breathe sharply and his fists curl tightly into fists.

" there is nothing your excuses have that may justify your actions. i never claim to justify mine. mine is selfish, yes, yours is cowardly. "

there would be a time when he might slaughter them all. what a shame, that was not now.

meaningless did he call the words of the world's greatest mind. it was her right and her wrong to be offended by the words of an uneducated buffoon who spoke with weapons rather than intellect. but where there would be a frown and a loud, booming voice to be expected, there was nothing if not for the sweetest of smiles to form on her lips. oh, poor, unfortunate alber.

clearly, he was speaking of himself. or so the scientist believed. that sugary sweet smile replaced by a cocky smirk and those gloved hands resting ever so confidently on her hips. maybe she should feel threatened but fighting evil with more evil was simply specialty.

"were you lonely without me? coming back after claiming we've done you so dirty. if you weren't that freakishly tall i might even consider a 'welcome home' embrace but alas, i do not like to hug oversized birds."

respect in intelligence was one of the few aspects of a person that king looked into when speaking to an individual. yet, in no world could he respect the words of someone such a lilith, of doctor vegapunk. no matter the time that has passed, scars upon his body from his--may he be humoured at calling it as such--childhood still wringing through his nerves as a disease that was never cured.

how a will he may possess that the reference to such a time may not induce him into a fit of rage. yet prideful he was, and would remain. let him not sink into the fury that he so chided one like queen or, one may forbid, jack for falling into. fools driven by their emotions that they may not see the benefit of a conversation with one that spurred his flames into fury.

expression hidden beneath a mask of his own design, holding back the rising temperature of his body that he wished to use to burn her alive. as the fate of any that aligned themself with the world government--let it be presently or former. their crimes lived eternally in them.

to continue to think, to create, to make what has killed this world; however intentions that did not align with it. perhaps king was hypocritical; given his allegiences with a crew as a commander. a crew that had drawn a region to it's nigh death for the sake of a hapless journey to become pirate king. that was kaido's role, his destiny. a hope that he hoped would come to pass.
