~Dying Dream Here we are with my Central Italy drawing~. She’s not dying, it’s a metaphor: the Fall of the Second Roman Republic. She cut her hair during Risorgimento, but in this metaphoric dream she imagined herself with grown hair symbolizing her new change Lucia’s headcanon: Rome, november 24 1848. The pope due to rebellions because of his will to not to fight austrians he had to escape from Rome. Papal States finally decaded and replaced by a new nation: the Second Roman Republic. An utopia, an emerald dream born from a period of indipendence wars. The new government was administrated by Giuseppe Galletti,Aurelio Saffi and Luigi Masi. It was her time,finally Lucia could take what the Papal States taken from her and fight for expand its territory. She moved from Florence to Rome,the granduchy of Tuscany Leopold agreed with her decision even if he wasn’t happy about this. Problems started really soon, as soon as the pope received the news about Rome. He started to ask help to the other nations and in few months Austria, understanding the problematic situation,with Radetzky begun to attack the Roman Republic and occupied Ferrara in Februry 18. He hadn’t enough militar power to attack the Roman Republic and the new Tuscany Republic,born when Leopold left Tuscany,so he waited for the right moment. This moment arrived in March 12 when finally the situation in Lombardy appeased. He sent Costantino d'Aspre to Tuscany to see how it was the situation. In April 12 the governemnt was already decaded and the new one recalled the granduchy who in May 4 regained his power. So the situation was good, but in May 25 d'Aspre entered in Florence in any case and occupied Tuscany. it was the turn of Bologna,in May 8 was attacked and after a week in May 16 the city gave up. Before that she defeated France in April 30,but then Austria in May 25 attacked Marche and she lost. Lucia tried to make an alliance with France,but it was useless. Spain with the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies started a spedition against her,and she ended surrounded. But she prefered to fight until the end,and in July 5 lost
