I really wish transmeds/truscum were talked about more.

They’re right up there with terfs but they’re just hiding behind their identity as trans to justify their attempts at erasure of other trans people.

Like, say someone id’s as a trans guy.

These people believe that in order to identify as a trans guy you HAVE to dress 100% masculine, you HAVE to bind (which in itself isn’t really safe, but I’ve seen some transmeds actually tell people that they should bind with ace bandages, duct tape, ect.), that they HAVE to go on testosterone, that they HAVE to have dysphoria.

And if you don’t fit any of these criteria? They intentionally misgender you, because they don’t believe you’re an actual trans guy.

They don’t “believe” in non binary people either. They call them things like “transtrenders”. They forget that our flag has a white stripe for nb people.

I don’t know much about trans girl transmeds as I’m a trans guy myself and haven’t really encountered one, but I’m sure they exist.

Who the fuck do these people think they are? The gender police?

You don’t get to tell people how they’re allowed to identify, and you’re not allowed to tell them what they can and can’t do inside their identity.

On Youtube especially they seem to have a disturbingly large presence, with people like Storm Ryan and Kalvin Garrah. Their videos are right where trans and nb kids can find them and get the impression that they’re not allowed to be trans because they don’t fit the “criteria”.

The trans and nb people that transmeds attack are merely trying to live their lives as they feel is right.

Trans isn’t a fad. It isn’t “trendy”. People don’t fake being trans to keep up with the current trend. They’re just trying to be themselves.

Kalvin Garrah is absolutely not representative of all transmeds. Your idea of us is completely biased and misconstrued, like I’m literally a gnc gay trans man who’s also a transmed.

Stop comparing trans people to people who think we shouldn’t even exist period. I’ve been harassed and dog piled on by TERFs. They don’t care what a trans person believes, they think I’m a confused heterosexual woman regardless. Don’t compare us. Doing so is just ugly and demonstrates an absolute unwillingness to even understand what transmeds ideologies actually are.

EDIT: not to mention there are a lot of transmeds who “believe” in nb identities, mostly agender ALSO ALSO: the white stripe is for people who are transitioning, saying it’s for nb people is literally rewriting trans history.
