tbh the 407 narration kind of feeds into the belief that afo was born evil… because why is it so malicious. it makes sense if its afo narrating his own story but there's nothing that indicates that its 100% him?? And then you have all that stuff about him and his eyes being empty/soulless/heartless and his tears being ~fake~ so I can't say I'm surprised that people still think he was born the devil considering that the story insists on treating him that way. i am sure it's on purpose and horikoshi is deliberately playing with genre expectations (bc in any other story, afo WOULD be born 100% evil, so naturally people already have a biased image of him in their heads) to make the moment he does get humanized hit all the harder, but idk, i can't even hold it against people, y'know. Sometimes I wonder too if i am not reading too much into it/expecting too much even if afo being born evil with a backstory like this (that parallels other villains when you could have just made him a spoiled rich kid) and in the context of the manga would be a horrendous writing choice.

to be fair it wouldn't bother me so much if a lot of the same people who say this didn't use this as an excuse to talk about how boring afo is and how he has 0 depth unlike the other villains who got way more depth and that afo needs to die already so we can move onto the more interesting villains.

but I don't see how anyone can see how he constantly chases after yoichi,

I don't get why it matters though that he looks creepy as a baby. he was still just a baby born by the riverside with only his brother with him. tomura looked creepy when walking down the street alone, that didn't men it was right for the old lady to just leave him as he is and hope someone else intervenes. togas was constantly told how disgusting her smile was, and sure it looked creepy, that doesn't mean that it was right for people to put her down for expressing her true emotions.

This is so ?!?!? in the new MHA game Koda can control nomus with his quirk. Maybe because Nomus aren't rational creatures similar to animals??? Though there are more intelligent ones which makes me wonder if his quirk would work on them or if it only works on the less.... intellectually gifted ones.

I know AFO and Garaki would've kidnapped him and studied this phenomenon if they knew 😭
