Initially, Ella didn’t work with Adrian too often. She was still learning, growing in responsibilities. From what she had seen of him, though, she knew he’d be a good fit, that he’d be there long term. Given what they did, whomever they hired, especially as their lawyer, had to be the right person – and the right person would make very good money. As the brunette learned more, she was a little more involved in those things, her father needing to teach her when they day came that she sat in his chair. Even now, Adrian worked with him more than her, but they still had plenty of interaction. That was how he’d first caught her eye – years ago, when she became more involved, but she pushed it aside. He worked for them, it was all a terrible idea to her, especially when she was attempting to be taken seriously.
“I agree,” Ella murmured softly to him. It was hard to imagine how she managed to resist this pull with Adrian for so long. Now that he was close, she didn’t want to let go, which was a new sensation for her. The brunette couldn’t help the quiet laugh that fell, “This is good since this is what you have with me,” she assured, as if he didn’t know. He’d already seen her kill her ex-fiancé for his traitorous ways. Truthfully, the entire situation had helped Ella see things more clearly, including her own feelings. She didn’t love him the way she thought she did. He certainly didn’t ignite in her these heady feelings that Adrian did. When all of those things happened, there were very few people she trusted and let in on it, especially working through the anger she felt. Not everyone could handle her possible volatility in those moments. Sometimes she reigned it in, but other times, she exploded in some way – usually violent, but she aimed it towards objects or underground fighting, doing her best not to hurt people who didn’t deserve it. A smirk formed, nodding slightly, “This describes me well,” she could admit, brow raising, “Oh? Maybe I should bring you to the next fight. You can show me after how you enjoyed it.”
This wasn’t typical for Ella, to kiss him first, to end up feeling so heated, so aroused, but Adrian was different. Maybe this wasn’t going too fast, having known each other for years, having these feelings ruminate beneath the surface for quite some time – having grown more intense the past several months. If she thought about it, the truth was they’d both been waiting, at the very least, for months. “You would because they are not me,” she challenged, a hint of cockiness that she seldom displayed. She couldn’t help it, though, she almost felt a bit possessive over him at the idea which was strange as she was truly not the jealous or possessive type. When Adrian drew her under him, pinned by his weight, Ella couldn’t help the quiet gasp, lips against her neck causing her to arch slightly into him. Her own hands moved across his shoulders, sliding down his back. Her own hands slid under his shirt, slowly starting to push it up, aching to feel his warm skin against her fingertips.
