Ella remembered when Adrian was brought in, unsure if he was ever told what happened with the previous lawyer. She figured he could put two and two together… after that tragic car accident that had sort of made the news. It’d taken some effort to keep the press from covering it aside a passing mention. Though, when she met him, saw the information on Adrian, she got the sense he was the type to do his research. He’d be foolish to say yes to their family without investigating himself. And she knew quite well, now, he wasn’t like that, in the least. In fact, he’d become quite trusted by her and her father. One of the few who was privy to things others were not, particularly because he was their lawyer. Of course, there was some things that they kept from him – like the fact the family did work with the government, doing their dirty work more often than people might expect. It’s why the law could seldom touch them, moreso those higher in rank than the lower levels. But they did their best to keep any of their people out of prison.
Time and time again, Ella fought tooth and nail to prove to those who worked for them, to their clients, to her father that she was worth more than any son. It was hard for her father, though, and she did understand that. Ella and Alyssa were his girls, and though he wasn’t like a tv show dad, he did love them more than words could describe – and he would tear the world apart for either of them. They knew it, too – even if they each had their issues with him. Aside that, though, Ella finally had her father’s blessing on taking over, some day. He’d gotten to see her capabilities, testing her over the years. Eyes drew to Adrian, “I must mean what I say or I am weak,” she countered. “I don’t think I would want to be with a man who is afraid of me,” she confessed quietly. She wanted to be respected by her boyfriend, but not feared. Fingers brushed along his back, laughing softly at his description, “In -- …” she paused, rechecking it in her head, “Incendiary,” she mispronounced it slightly, “what is that?” she asked, though she could make some guesses purely due to talking about her temper. It was much more under control, the only problem was when she did get that riled up, it was difficult to talk her down or rationalize with her.
It was easy to mirror a similar expression on her own face. Ella was beyond happy they finally gave in to this feeling. She’d been a bit concerned, but now, after kissing him, even after the bit of talking, it put her at ease. This truly did feel right in a way that she never experienced – not that she had much experience anyways. “Good,” she laughed, shaking her head some. Adrian was certainly getting a side to her that was reserved for him, possibly for her twin, though in a different way, of course. Fingers lightly tugged to pull him closer, craving the feel of his weight against her. “I agree… I may be the boss, but I am a lady,” she teased, even if she did mean it completely. Everything in her was caving into the need for more of him. Normally, she’d never even consider sleeping with someone so quickly, but this was different, he was different. She truly didn’t want to leave. She wanted to be in his arms. Before she could consider saying anything along those lines, debating if it was too much, his lips were on hers, then trailing down to her neck. Ella gasped, fingers trailing through his hair as her body arched into him instinctively. Eyes closed, biting back a low moan, head tipping up slightly to offer him more of her skin.
