clones watching their children grow up and knowing that they most likely won't live to see their kid’s 18th birthday is just another drop of water into the ocean. an ever growing list of things that clones won't be able to experience.

that echo joke in the bad batch show? i imagine that echo didn't come up with it himself, i mean he absolutely could have, but what would have been more likely was that his division or squad gave it to him. or better yet...

echo and a few other troopers are scouting a cave or something. it's large enough to facilitate an echo and a few of them are bored and fascinated enough by the occurrence to toss out a few interesting sounds.

fives is cackling long before he can even get the words out of his mouth and it's through fits and spurts he's able to get it out. "is there an echo in here?"

and echo just sighs while the rest of the division sputters out into laughter. and it’s like that until they’re both gone but echo comes back. alone.

fives living au where he is not only continuing live out his best life as a brat, but he is living undercover! being undercover though doesn't mean he can't get laid...

he takes advantage of his vacation, as he's resorted to calling it, and indulges in his flirtations. this ends up eventually getting him known as a huge flirt where he gets in trouble, routinely, with the locals on the planet he’s hiding on because he just won’t stop attempting to slide.

at some point, the entire town figures out who fives is somewhat, or at the very least he's hiding. someone mentions that they could always sell him out but they're met with aggressive rejections and hollering.

after all, he's a brat, but he's their brat.

the bad batch flirting would be somewhat of a shitshow, but in their favor.

hunter doing his best to act nonchalant and confident as he places a finger underneath their chin, pushing up their face to get up and personal, and oh my god! their face is so close! gorgeous, smells good, he can see every single lash and — his head falls forward & leans into them, because this is too much for him. it's too much, but kriff!

echo thinks sliding an arm around their shoulders is a surefire way to get them to lean into him (the holonet suggested it!) but every single time he attempts it, he hesitates just a moment too long & they’re asking if he’s okay and if his scomp hurts & hey they know how to massage. you wouldn't mind that, would you?

tech considers himself smart and he strategizes and figures the best path forward is teaching them. so he teaches them how to fix things around the ship because that’s an easy excuse to touch them, but then he starts to get really distracted by the fixing part of it until he realizes that they’re practically in his lap and oh um. mission accomplished?

crosshair choosing the “nitpick until they tell him to help them” route only to find that they’re just as good with a blaster as he is. maybe they don't have as perfect of a shot like his but there’s nothing to fix & he’s irritated until they get a stunburn from a training droid & he knows first aid. of course he knows first aid! he didn't have people to watch his back sometimes, when he had to watch his brothers.

wrecker doesn’t need plans or strategies. in fact, he doesn't need a lot of the thoughts the others has. he knows what he wants and... he just does things. if he wants to hug them, he does it. if he wants to hold hands though… well. can’t hurt to just ask? but maybe he should find a better time than right before dropping into a mission?

clones finding out that every culture has their own customs when it comes to dating and marriage and them getting really excited because breaking plates at the wedding? fireworks? explosions? wait what about throwing stuff at their brothers???? there's whole on fighting matches when the bouquet gets thrown.

clones that spent nearly every single minute with their brothers and the GAR only, following regulations and rules they had to adhere to without question. no future to think of to or even ton consider past the War.

to now walking in streets filled with faces that they don't recognize, bumping arms into people that aren't their brothers. facing a vast variety of choices to make like what shampoo to use or what colors to wear. and now you have a future to plan for too?

so many clones had to make that jump from having to sleep with one eye open, fighting against endless waves of droids, losing brother after brother to waking up in a soft bed, hearing the soft noises of life happening around, and having the choice of what they should eat for breakfast.

they were used to be the patrons, the strangers, the ones who knew nothing about the places they walked into other than what little they remembered from the last time they were there, if they were ever, to now being the one to know exactly where the potatoes were. where you can find the cheapest fruits. the vendors who won't screw you over.

it's a twist, a turnaround that they didn't expect and one that so many struggled to make peace with. but the ones that did….

i know the bad batch series and other pieces of media shows it a tiny bit: the future of the clones that went off into the world to start their own lives. but i wished we could have seen more, learned more.

like how many of them (surely some of them) decided not to fall in love, because they knew they were going to die in the next decade or so and didn't want to cause more heartbreak? they'd fractured, families, planets, themselves? how could they bring themselves to be anymore selfish?

but how many of them did it anyways? that learned to come to terms with that guilt, to grow into something more like they could be instead of should be? learning, loving, living a life that they never dreamed to be possible?

how many of them ended up losing their love first?

clones have been shown to be hated for what they contributed to during the wars.

you can't keep everyone safe from everyone, trooper.

the wall at the barracks shown in the bad batch series... just... makes me think about stuff. like the fact that so many clones didn’t get graves or a funeral or even a marker. there's nothing to remember them by other than that wall which just... disappears. just like the clones. erased from a history that they helped craft.

being a bartender at 79’s must have been fucking terrible on the mental state, bc wdym ur regular didn’t show up because he got blasted into the stratosphere by general grevious?

Plot Twist : Clones don’t get their names/tattoos/markings as part of reclaiming their identities but only to make sure that the bartenders at 79´s remember their usual order

bartender: *squints* you still owe me for last time, but i'll let ya have a drink on the bar this time since you didn't break any glasses so far.

stealing a clones hat (and he absolutely knows and is aware of said theft as he’s flirting with them while walking out the door of their apartment) to ensure they come back the next day only for them to be deployed out and never seen again

the concept of promise rings is cute and all but they don’t work for clones because gloves and armor and that gets a bit tricky. you don't want stuff getting snagged or the ring breaking or whatnot.

so they have promise necklaces. tattoos.

but only few of them do it. because they can’t promise to come home. so many clones can say that they can try but so many of them hate the lying.

imagine one tattooing their clone lover’s number onto themself as a reminder, or keep his jacket/hat as a reason for them to swing by when they're back on shoreleave, but one day he doesn’t come back.

he doesn't come back and they search the best they can, but clones are clones, and they're not treated the same as the citizens of the republic. the war carries on as does life.

the republic transitions into the empire, but they still hope, wearing the item until one day a different clone stops them, one looking wary and tired. “he was a good man.”

clones having to dress up for political military galas by having all their armor on and freshly painted before realizing it was a mistake bc people are asking them to dance and WHERE WAS THIS IN TRAINING? THE HANDBOOK? how do you ballroom DANCE?

the braver clones taking the opportunity and realizing their armor is so clunky but they somehow manage with their helmets off, and feel the gentle hands through their armor and gloves of someone simply touching them in their armor. ITS DIFFERENT. it's soft and gentle and this is kind of fun actually.

i need to think on this this was not well put together but oh my god ballroom clones at military galas i fucking love this idea

after the war, clones that defected without the help of the underground being unable to find work. restaurant? turned away. desk work? turned away. turned away from store they used to frequent on shore leaves. no one wants you working up front or even behind. you can work for the galaxy's equivalent of pennies on the farms in the mid-rim they say with malicious smiles.

some rare few say it's for their safety, reminding them that they're not supposed to be here, but most want clones nowhere near them, near their customers or family. clones are bad luck, bad fortune, they bring war wherever they go.

so they turn to the mercenary life only to get sold out by their fellow merc for a quick credit from the empire.

some of them try to stick together, only to get separated from their brothers because a group of clones is considered dangerous or bad for business by the public. and some of them die on the streets by themselves.

and these specific clones defecting and then never finding out about or removing the chip. orders still cling to them hard and they get forced into hard labor. and those who can fight back against it eventually and slowly lose their grip on reality. many of them don’t get to have their own lives.

the first clones to finally not eat their rations during the war and experience new food... they must have had their minds blown. imagine being the first person to give a clone their first fruit. cake. candy. something sweet? something sour? something that throws them for a complete twist.

clones discover textures they've never tried, things that burn their mouths, things that have bite or kick. things that seem to be giving their mouths a big hug, warm food, hot food, cold food that actually doesn't taste like slop!

but also clones pulling a sick move of “i don’t know how to chew or enjoy food so i suction everything down” only to choke and end up in medical because of it. clones that have been genetically engineered for the battlefield, but some of them missed the "surviving dairy" gene.

and then those with food allergies. imagine munching on nuts, giving ur brother who has never had nuts before some, and then watching as they get really red, and OH SHIT, MEDIC, MEDIC. the medic is confused. you're confused. your brother is confused. what happened??

but ur brother really liked those nuts...
