17, and let's go with Cabe))
17:“I think you’re going to need stitches.”
“Stitches?” Cabe repeats with a scoff. Ugh. He hasn’t eaten anything in days, meaning that right now the contents of his stomach are only acid and blood, an unpleasant mixture that’s bubbling up his throat and is already seeping out of his mouth in streams. He wipes his mouth, causing a large, dark smear to coat the lower half of his face.
“I.. I don’t need stitches,” he tries to rasp, gripping the wall because for some reason it feels like his legs are going to give out. Okay. Wow. Maybe he did take more damage than necessary. “Just—give me a day, I-I’ll be fine–”
He stops, because something in his abdomen gave an unpleasant lurch towards the outward direction, and he lets out a “tsk” as he presses his fingers against the gash across his belly. It’s slippery, and his eyebrows goes upward as a finger accidentally slips in, and, oh, yep, that’s a gut alright.
“Okay, fine, I need stitches!” he exclaims, annoyed for some reason. He locks eyes with Lucien, his expression immediately softening to apologetic, and he looks away. “Sorry. It’s just–this doesn’t happen often.”
The doctor gives a rather forgiving smile at Lucien’s apology, evidently hoping that that was enough–because oh my goodness, do they brighten up more at the question.
At least, they look quite bright and happy about the question for just a second before their face suddenly relaxes into a small frown as they glance to the right, clearly remembering. This earns them an unappreciative nudge from Cabe, which they ignore.
“Well, he’s a nice roommate… He’s generally really clean, actually, and will leave your stuff alone… And if you have stuff to do and tell him about it he’ll be really considerate…”
They trail off, earning yet another nudge, and they laugh, rubbing the back of their head sheepishly. “But he brought plenty of people. That’s how he is, after all, y’know?”
Their laughter sounds slightly forced; the look on their face is very similar to that of a certain young man that all three individuals are very familiar with. “Not saying that he’d ever do that with you if you two were to live together.. No, he wouldn’t, I’m sure!”
Cabe looks just mildly annoyed at this point, but he doesn’t bother to give any commentary; clearly the doctor’s right, after all.
Lucien gave the doctor a forced smile. After all, he got yet another reminder about Cabe's promiscuity. He didn't particularly like to think about it... and glancing at Cabe, he didn't look too amused either. It was an awkward topic.
Lucien returned his gaze towards the doctor, "Uhm..." He tried tried to break the short- and rather uncomfortable- silence, "Say, has Cabe always been getting into a lot of trouble in terms of violence?" Needless to say, it worried him a lot. Especially after what happened this time.
