BFDI: TPOT 16: One's Public Execution
thought I'd make this relevant again after tpot 19
"Are you tired, Professor?"
i literally can't stop thinking about how phainon has been kept human and still has bits of himself even after all those cycles he went through, and it's all because of the thing he was made to destroy. he who is supposed to be shaped and welded into being a part of irontomb, who will destroy all reason and erudition, causing havoc even beyond that - and yet he has gone against that fate, living the same lives over and over and over again, so that that ruin can never come to pass.
and anaxa, who embodies reason and erudition, being the only one to truly see him as merely Him. never hero, worldbearer, or deliverer, despite him being forced into that role by fate, almost consuming all of him.
when anaxa had asked him: "Phainon of Aedes Elysiae; what is your dream?", he didn't ask what the hero or deliverer dreamed of. he asked what Phainon dreamed of. what he is meant to destroy, and yet someone who embodies it is the only one to see past his hero facade and peer into the man named khaslana.
to live through the same thing every single time without fail, losing your grip on who you truly are and fading into the role everyone expects you to be, but one. one who will never look or address you that way - it grips onto that sinking part of you to pull it back up to the surface, and that is how you have never truly lost yourself.

Happy Birthday, Wriothesley!
So eager to summon me to the Pankration Ring, are you planning to show off the results of your recent training?
Hold on, just a second. All contestants must thoroughly check their gear before the match begins.
This coat... Hmm, best leave it in the spectator stands. Who knows, by the time we're done, it might end up with some more stickers.
How many do you think there'll be? Care to make a wager?

I know that we all know about this being a thing but I'm thinking about it and going insane.
Side notes that make me go even more insane-
The statue of David was made from a piece of marble deemed impossible to be worked with to this extent because of the size and alleged compromised consistency of the material;
This statue was also a somewhat controversial figure as, unlike any other statue portraying David until then, the one sculpted by Michelangelo represented the hero preparing for battle rather than victorious against the Giant, Goliath.
The statue of David was also made with the purpose of changing the symbolic view of the hero related to religion and making him a figure of relevance amongst the common people.
Ah... Ratio born unfit to become what everyone expected him to be, yet decided to pursue his goals and research but finding new meaning in the mundane... Yeah...
BRO I DIDN'T KNOW EMILIE HAD THE MEDIUM HEIGHT 💀💀
