Do you think them signing a young right back is a sign Lucy will not be there next season. I can’t see her playing for another club but I also can’t see her retiring yet?

Not necessarily, I think signing Nelly and any young player is great for the future and it also allows them to learn and gain experiences from the best players such as Lucy and Ellie. I agree with you, I really can’t see Lucy playing for another club after Chelsea. She has always said she will play until she physically can’t anymore, and unfortunately she will have to retire at some point but she still has so much left to give and we will have to wait until after the World Cup for her decision. I think it’s great she has signed a new contract at Chelsea and is doing lots of promotion for them as it shows she is still very much valued there and an important part of the squad. I think signing the younger generation will only help improve the club and them as individual players whilst still being able to learn and rely on key and experienced players ☺️

Me too girlie, the black away kit looks stunning on her and I love how much she loves Chelsea. She genuinely seems so at home and happy there!! The amount of Lucy content we have had recently has been insane but I’m definitely not complaining infact, keep it coming 🤭❤️

I’ve seen a few photos of Ona and Kelly smith too, I mean she’s also an assistant head coach. Could be just general chit chat but also it is quite valuable for her to give advice and coaching to full backs aswell as she understands what forwards want to do which can help defenders anticipate runs and crosses that are coming into the box. She also is probably making sure Ona and new signings are settling in well, she is a Arsenal legend so maybe she is just offering support and advice as someone who has been through it too ☺️
