he nodded his head with a smirk, kind of liked her last words. that meant that maybe she isn’t a liar either. “ that would be nice–” he replied with a smile. “but first– i’m theo lebeau, felt like it’s needed.” he said as he gave her his hand to shake, after all he didn’t want to be rude. “Definitely.”

“Ah - Lucy Quinzel” she smiled, reaching out to shake his hand. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Theo...Even if it is under strange circumstances” Lucy chuckled, shaking her head. “Uh...got a bag? I can start grabbing all of the cups and things?” she offered, taking a quick glance around the room before her eyes were back on him.

The trip between classes was more than Shiori had bargained for. Almost on the other side of campus, she wasn’t given a lot of time to get any kind of lunch together to stop her stomach from grumbling. Her usual route took her past the vending machines, something fattening and salty that would keep her satisfied long enough until she could get a proper meal in her system. Only that was now proving to be frustrating. Shiori swore loudly in Japanese as she kicked the vending machine over and over again. It had eaten the only cash she’d brought with her and she wasn’t about to pay for a single chocolate bar twice.

“Didn’t anybody ever teach you the elbow trick?” Lucy quirked a brow as she turned the corner and spotted the other in clear distress over vending machines doing what they did best; withholding treats. “Here” she let her bag fall to her feet before stepping over, standing beside the vending machine before giving it one good elbow in the right spot, listening out for the familiar clunk of the candy bar falling to the bottom of the machine before she grinned. “This one always jams...the one on the second floor is way better”

…to shut them up.

Lucy had tried several times to get his attention but March had continued to ramble, ignoring her and so Lucy had done the only other thing that she could think of as she leaned over, pressing her lips to his and letting the shock of it shut him up. “You know that I adore you and the way that your brain works and everything but I really need to figure this out and you’re not helping” she told him gently, a soft frown furrowing her brows. “Just give me two minutes, okay? And then you can tell me all about it”

“Oh my God!” Lucy beamed at her friend’s suggestion. It made complete sense, but it simply hadn’t come to the blonde for whatever reason. She leaned over, pressing a kiss to the other’s cheek. “Have I ever told you that you’re a genius?” She had. Too many times to count, really, but it wasn’t her fault that Bonnie was so much smarter than she was. “Because I don’t know what I’d do without you, to be honest”

Lucy’s brows furrowed in temporary confusion as she blinked her eyes open at the sudden kiss that had drawn her from sleep, relaxing when she saw that it was just Theo. She probably shouldn’t feel as comfortable with him as she did given that they hadn’t met that long ago, but there was something about him that made her trust him regardless. “You know...one of these days you and I are going to have to hang out when I haven’t been taking a nap” she laughed softly, sitting up. “Not that I don’t love the sleeping beauty method of waking me up and everything...but I’m not sleeping all the time, promise. It’s just a timing issue”

“And then I was explaining to her - Hey” Lucy frowned, getting up to move across the room so that she could perch on the arm of Thorn’s chair, wrapping her arms around her without hesitating. “What’s wrong?” she asked. In all of the years that she had known Thorn, she could probably count all of the times that she had seen her upset on one hand which was what made it so concerning. “Do you want me to kick somebody where the sun doesn’t shine?” she asked, the softness of the affectionate kiss that she pressed to the top of the other’s head contradicting her tone entirely. “‘Cause I will”

“i’m not liar.” he teased with a shrug. “i think the liquor and sleep handled you this time.” he joked, he couldn’t blame her– this school could be tense. “it’s my friend’s i helped him with everything and now we need to clean up.” he told her as he stood up straight cause he just realized that he need to help. “i think that’s why i was so surprised to see someone in here.” he told her. “but there are a few students that passed out all over this place.” he added. 

“Good. I’ve had enough of liars” Lucy tried to play it off as a joke, but it was the truth. She had been guilty of giving her heart to the wrong people a handful of times, one of the many reasons that she might not have minded leaving Gotham City if it didn’t also include getting caught and arrested. “Well, do you need some help?” He had wanted to talk to her and Lucy couldn’t deny that she wasn’t really ready to be done talking to him either and besides, she probably needed to make sure she was awake enough to find her dorm before she tried to leave. “I guess I win for best hiding spot then”

he helped her out of the bath, couldn’t ignore the fact that she crazy beautiful. so he just looked at her and finally realizing he had to listen what she was saying. “ oh–” he said nodding his head. “ don’t worry about it–” he said as he noticed her red cheeks. “ i think i rather talk with you right now.” he added smoothly. “ at least you didn’t poke all over yourself like most of the students by this time. it’s almost 4 am you know.” he informed her as he leaned back at the sink. theo was a party boy, kind of helped him to lock his mind from thinking. 

“Oh, really?” Lucy smirked slightly. She knew that she was attractive but still, she hadn’t been expecting his interest beyond getting her out of the bathroom. “I can handle my liquor....she says, as if she wasn’t just asleep in the bathtub” she laughed, shaking her head. “No puking, though. It’s 4am? Woah...” She wondered if her friends had bailed on her suddenly if it was that late. “Is this your party? Or do you just like to hang about until it’s over?”

“I don’t care if people can hear me, Stella. That’s the entire point in yelling!” she turned to her friend, feeling guilty for suddenly snapping at her when Lucy’s real frustration was with the man that had thought it appropriate to cat call her on her way across campus. “Sorry, it just really irritates me when men think that they can make comments like that...I’m done, I swear. Let’s get out of here”
