Text/Elinor
Elinor: How did you get my phone number?
Elinor: Wait, let me guess. Your sister?
Elinor: Fine. What am I packing for?
Lukas: Don't leave your phone laying around.
Lukas: Have a little faith. Pack for a night or two. The rest is a surprise.
Text/Elinor
Lukas: Pack your bags little red. We're going to have some fun.
Lukas: Be at my house by ten, and let Remy and Margaret know since you seem so close with them. I got my own invites to give out.
vampofthepast:
Elinor just rolled her eyes again but moved away from him and approached some middle aged man. Compel him to do something? Like what? She was trying to think of something easy but also entertaining, seeing as how she had an audience. She walked up to him, batting her eyelashes and acting all sweet and innocent like she usually did to get her way. A few words were exchanged for a bit until Elinor thought she was ready. She tried to do what Lukas said and focus on what she wanted him to do. She watched the guys eyes glaze over just a touch before he started to flail his arms around and march his feet like a duck. Elinor’s own eyes went wide as she watched him then turned to Lukas with a big excited smile on her face. “I did it!” She shouted back at him.
Lukas couldn't help but laugh as Elinor seemed a bit excited that she had managed to make the guy do something ridiculous. it was a beginners trick, but in a town like this they couldn’t have more fun than that. “Look at you growing up,” he teased. “Try something else.”
misterblackwell:
He was reading in one of the study rooms when Lukas arrived, he caught the expression on his brother’s face and instantly thought that perhaps Juliana had said something. Pacing himself, Noah lit a cigarette as he listened, his face conveying the usual nonchalance he had.
“Go on then, better late than never.”
“Nicolette’s sister showed up in town. Honestly I never expected her to bother. Thought she had just stayed in New Orleans or went somewhere new. She definitely should’t be here.” Lukas turned to look at his brother. “She blames me and I can’t be mad at her for it. I left her to deal with the aftermath while I fled like I always do. She’s still Nicolette’s sister though. I can’t abandon her twice. Not like we hadn’t at least been somewhat close prior to everything, but she obviously doesn’t trust me now. Then Elinor...I--” How impossible was it to actually say it to Noah over Joslyn? More so because he didn’t now what reaction to expect. “I blamed you for being soft with Maragret and that in hindsight was hypocritical now.”
@misterblackwell
Opening up to Joslyn had helped a little, sure, but Lukas had wanted his brother’s opinion. He probably owed him an apology if he were totally honest, but he wasn’t going that far. Finding Noah in the house after he had procrastinated for the last hour, he simply jumped right into it or lest he change his mind. “Well it has happened. My past caught up with me,” he voiced, his eyes set out the window as he had his back to Noah. “The present isn’t exactly looking so good either though.”
Fashionable Choices [Joslyn & Lukas]
joslyn--blackwell:
Joslyn felt her heart breaking for her brother. She knew that feeling of being toxic. She had never told anyone about what happened in Paris. To think that in the end her brother Lukas and her had dealt with such similar pains was astonishing to her. She wanted to tell him. To tell him that she understood his pain. But this was his moment. She could tell him another time because right now she just wanted to be there and focus on him.
“Oh Lukas, a mistake doesn’t make you toxic.” She said sweetly. She sat there quietly trying to find the right words to say before she just gently pet the back of his hand with her thumb.
“I know what you want to hear. You want me to scream, cry about how cruel and heartless you were. You want to hear me say that you are unworthy of Elinor, unworthy of love. But the truth is Lukas if I said all of that I would be lying” she said in her soft sweet voice. “Unfortunately I don’t have the magic words to make this all better.” She said gently turning his hand in hers before she looked up meeting his eyes. Hers filled with a soft joyful sadness. “ But I am glad you told me Lukas, a burden such as that is not something you should suffer alone. I am your sister. I love you no matter what past you have.” She assured him.
“In regards to Elinor, I get the feeling that perhaps, she too may feel she is toxic” She said softly and sweetly.
“Many mistakes do,” Lukas murmured.
In truth he had done far worse than causing one witches death. Slaughtering the people of the Quarter had to be close, but he had after-all all but helped create what became Jack The Ripper. That poor sap had to have been suffering some sort of mental disease, and yet Lukas had pushed his mad ideas until the man broke.Countless other murders occurred of course, but he tended to lose track of the how and why’s over the decades.
“You know what people expect from me?” He looked at Joslyn, feeling more at ease as his inner thoughts spilled out. “Cruelty. Anger. Violence. Some vampire gone mad with a thing for torturing and being a grade A asshole.” He laughed a little to himself. “It is the case, though I would rather not prove anyone otherwise. We’re the Blackwell’s, Josie. That comes with a certain reputation and one that doesn’t involve falling for pretty little red heads in this town. I poked fun at Noah about going soft and look at me. I’m the worst example.”
He wasn’t surprised how Elinor saw herself. He new at least bits and pieces of her story, but that was not one opinion he would back.
“Well she isn’t. She’s....wonderful. Different than anyone in this shitty town.”
vampofthepast:
The red head couldn’t really see Lukas saving someone by turning them just for the sake of being a good guy. Then again, she didn’t know much about him at all did she? She was such a mystery to her. One minute he’s ready to snap off her arm, the next he’s eating shortbread cookies. She shook her head and let him guide her, looking around the park. There weren’t a lot of people but there were at least a few wandering around to mess with. “Okay…” Elinor said frowning, “how is that any different than what I normally do? Maybe I’m a pro at this already and didn’t even know it.”
“Just try it, and quit complaining. You’ll be surprised.” Lukas walked over to the bench nearest them, intending on watching from there. If she screwed up then that alone might be hilarious. He was still surprised she had never been taught, or never found someone who had taught her by now. “Go on, little red.”
victoriacresswell:
“You got some skills I’ll give you that. I don’t know how useful that would be though.”
“Useful? Who gives a fuck if it’s useful? It’s entertaining.”
miravolk:
“It was more of a personal day, Mr. Blackwell.” She hadn’t been in there writing any story for the paper. She actually hadn’t had a job at the paper in a week or so. But she still liked being in the building, and brought her laptop for her “after hours” work. “Why? Were you interested in a particular bit of news? I try to keep up to date.” Like when little brother Blackwell came waltzing into town.
“Ah I see,. Well we’re all entitled to those.” He was sure the only big news now came in the form of what went down on Halloween after-all. “only keeping myself in the loop. People in this town like to gossip, and I would rather see the truth than any of that.”
Fashionable Choices [Joslyn & Lukas]
joslyn--blackwell:
Joslyn could have sworn she felt her heart speed up when her brother started to speak. At least she would have if her heart were still beating. Was this really happening? could it be that all this time away and now finally her brother might open up to her a bit? Sure he had opened to her a tad in the past. But even she knew that he was closer to Noah, as such as she was. They both had an unspoken truth. Don’t ask, don’t tell. Joslyn sighed as she watched her brother try and drown out his thoughts with his guitar. Joslyn felt her stomach sink and she chewed on her lower lip with frustration. . After all this time, She was done not asking.
Joslyn moved quietly scooting closer to him so that her knee was touching his. She gently reached out and placed her hand on his. His hand that was strumming the strings of the guitar. Her movement silencing the noise of the guitar.
“No, Lukas. It isn’t stupid. Please, In regards to Elinor?” She said. Her hand gently taking his to assure him that sure enough, she was there. It was time she stopped running away. She was here to stay. She was here now for her family. This was why she had chosen to live all those years ago. For her family. She gave him the same reassuring sweet smile she always did and squeezed his hand. A silent plea for him not to shut her out anymore.
Lukas stilled, looking at her hand on his own, and he knew he was cornered. He couldn’t outrun it forever anyway. It was too small a town, and he had run away too many times to count. Was it really necessary in this case. He reluctantly placed the instrument on the bed beside the, silence carrying for a beat.
“I gave my heart to someone once. Then she was murdered. I could have stepped in but I didn’t call their bluff. I tried to tell myself it didn’t matter. That she was dead and there was nothing to be dealt with after that. I can’t shake her though, and it’s a reminder that I don’t need to go down that road again. Why should I? So something else terrible can happen? I’m toxic. I’m a threat at that, and I don’t mind it. Doesn’t mean everyone else should be burdened with with dealing with it. Don’t tell me it’s not the case because I can see the annoyance in our sister’s eyes when I walk in. She’s wondering what else I’ve done.” He paused, wondering if anything he said made any sense. He was a ruined mes of scrambled thoughts. ‘I can’t like Elinor in any regard. I should just get out of this boring ass town anyway..’

She watches him, and sighs. “I am trying to know that person. I am trying to know if in there, somewhere, is a person who values me, who I can be friends with or some bullshit, I dunno.” She rubs her face. “That’s basically the piece of information that I wanna know here. But I definitely don’t think murder is cool, even if it isn’t new.”
“I don’t do friends,” Lukas pointed out sharply. “I know people, that’s about it. If you’re useful I keep you around. I promised Nicolette from the get go I would keep an eye on you. Obviously I may have failed in that department, but look at you--here and alive.”
trashjulie:
She puts her hands up a little. “How am I supposed to know, exactly? All I know about you at this point is you murdered a bunch of people who didn’t deserve to die, and you’re clearly upset, so I don’t really know what to think, okay?” She follows him reluctantly now. “Family? Really?” She looks down a little, and feels weirdly better. She wishes insecurity and loneliness weren’t her weak points. She wishes she had something like clumsiness or talking too loud or something that hurts less.
“I don’t know what skewed image you think you have of me, but I can promise you that the New Orleans me was not all there is.” He had stalked toward her, meeting her steps and standing a bit overbearingly close. “Those aren’t the only innocents I’ve murdered. Murder isn’t new.” He scoffed, turning back to the path ahead. “Really.”
