“Hate to say it-” She started as she looked up at the man with a sheepish grin, “But I told you so. Should have just gone the extra block to Pete’s. They never take this long.”
“Oh I don’t need your sass right now,” he let out a chuckle. “Plus you know how lazy I am. An extra block is like a mile in mind. Who woulda thought I’d walk into the one slow coffee shop in the entire state.”
“you could’ve gone through the drive-thru if you were in such a hurry.” sage crossed her slender arms over her chest as she watched him in amusement. “you know you’re really cute when you’re whining.”
“Did you see the amount of cars there were in line. Maybe they should hire someone else. Or learn how to make coffee at a coffee shop,” he huffed and rolled his eyes. “Oh please, don’t discount me. I’m cute all the time,” he playfully winked at her as he joked around.

✘ Luke is a sweetheart deep down. He’s a bit of a fuck boy, but he tries.
✘ He’s 27 and from Texas, born and bred.
✘ He’s from a large family. His father died when he was young, and his uncle inherited the family business and ran it into the ground because of a gambling problem. Now, the family is struggling financially.
✘ His mother is very ill and he sought out Doc for money help. He needs money to help his mom get an experimental cancer treatment, so most of what he makes he sends home.
✘ He was a cop in Texas. So it made sense for him to transfer and become a double-agent.
✘ Deep down, he struggles with betraying the police force, but his mother is a bigger motivator.
✘ He’s never been good with relationships and is a bit shady when it comes to girls. He was always seen as a bit of a player.
✘ He gets too afraid of being tied down, so he tends to act out when things get too serious.
✘ He oozes southern charm and is a huge flirt, so as afraid of commitment as he is, he tends to dig himself into a hole.
