I love this shot by Tim Walker called White Drama. As the story goes, Vogue's fashion editor Phyllis Posnick wanted to shoot Rei Kawakubo's designs for Comme des Garçons. The clothes were loaned with the condition that they would only be shot in studio. When the models arrived on set, the photographer decided he didn't want a studio shoot. It was the middle of winter, the ground was muddy and it was cold, so he put the models in thermal underwear, took them to a nearby forest, sprayed the area with fake snow and put boards on the ground so the immaculate white shoes wouldn't get dirty. The shoot was over in an hour and Comme des Garçons were in love with the shot. This one of a kind print will be auctions for between £10,000 - 15,000. Moral of the story: follow your dreams, break the rules, never take no for an answer and you can create magic. You may even laugh all the way to the bank. #inspiration #whoreonatour #iconic #timwalker #phyllisposnick #commesdesgarcons (at Phillips, 30 Berkeley Square, London W1J 6Ex)
