My fave Sad/Tragic Anime Couples whose ending breaks your heart.

Charlotte and Meier Link-Vampire Hunter D bloodlust.

She loves the Baron and the Vampire Baron loves her and bounty hunters just cant give them a break; trying to seperate them by trying to kill Meier and take Charlotte back to her family. They Tried hard and failed. Still the ending breaks your heart especially when Meier howled and cried devastatingly while clutching Charlotte to him. And Baron Meier is supposedly the villain of the story btw.

Gin and Hotaru- Into the Forest of Fireflies.

Faerie boy meets little human girl and he has to watch her grow from a young squirt to a pretty young lady. Theres a “No touchy” policy or else Faerie boy disintegrates into sparkly lights but in the end… Sigh* you know how it ends tho.

Sol Zagato and Princess Emeraude- Magic Knight Rayearth

We all thought Princess Damsel in Distress is being held captive by a power hungry evil tyrant but in the end we found out that the evil Dark Mage only wanted to be with his princess lover but to do so he has to free the princess from her burden as the Pillar of a magical planet. They died in the end…sucks

Kousei Arima and Kaori Miyazono- Your lie in April

Sooo, if you have a crush or had fallen in love with someone and you only have like a year to live, have the courage to confess as soon as possible. And just because the girl you like tells you she likes another guy, confess your feelings for her still… But oh well, thats how young love is… Romantic and idiotic and makes you cry.

Van and Hitomi- Vision of Escaflowne

Im happy both character lived but Still its a bittersweet ending. The moment they had finally confessed their feelings of love to each other was the moment Hitomi had to return to earth.

Menma and Jinta- Anohana, the flower we saw that day.

The Girl died before they even have to confess each others feelings. The girl returned as a ghost but her time is short and any romantic resolution will never come into fruition.

Makoto and Chiaki- The Girl who Leapt through Time.

Despite their feelings for one another, due to the nature of Makoto’s time traveling abilities, the couple can never truly be together. Kinda reminds you of The Time Travellers Wife.

Nia and Simon- Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

From Childhood Friends to teenage Lovers to Enemies and Married Couple. Though it was a happy wedding but a bittersweet one bcoz Nia dissolves and fades after the kiss.

What’s Leon Belmont Like?

Lots of fans of the anime that haven’t played the games are probably curious to know more about him, so I’m going to do what I usually do, and gush for an entire post!

My view of him is that he is very heroic and brave and loving. As well as compassionate and passionate.

Heroic and Brave and compassionate

When his betrothed, Sara, is taken by a vampire, he wastes no time to go straight to the vampire’s castle and play his dumb ‘game’ and save her, while unarmed. He is heroic, because he gave it all up for her. He gave up his high title of baron, going against the wishes of the Church to face the monsters at the castle. He has to be given a weapon by a shop dude named Rinaldo outside the castle. He fully intended to go in fists flying like ‘RUAAARRGH’. BRAVE HEROIC BOY.

Heroic also because the moment he hears about Rinaldo’s sad story, he immediately wants to help him! He just barely met this dude and he’s like ‘I WILL HELP YOU!’ He’s so compassionate!

Loving

It was love for Sara that sent him on his quest in the first place. He and his best buddy Mathias share this same trait. It pains me. Leon loves Sara and will do anything for her. Literally anything. And he loves Mathias and is heartbroken after what happens between them.

Passionate

Lament of Innocence game spoilers: Leon finds out that his betrothed is becoming a vampire, and in order to save her he must defeat the vampire that turned her. But, in order to make the whip he’s using strong enough to defeat the vampire, he has to strengthen it, by killing her. Leon will NOT do it. He can’t kill his lub!! But Sara overhears the conversation and offers her life up to defeat the vampire. Leon, very VERY MISERABLE, slays her, and promises that her sacrifice won’t be in vain.

Later He finds out that his best buddy Mathias was behind everything. The kidnapping of Sara, which caused Leon to go to the castle to hunt the vampire, the death of Sara, all so that Mathias could use the now-dead vampire’s soul for a super strong item. He was utterly and completely betrayed by his best friend he swears his family will some day kill him!! My heart…

So then, not only does he love passionately, but it’s also passion that drives his anger, swearing that his entire bloodline throughout the rest of history will hunt vampires, and the night!!

I love Leon and I would be totally cool with it if you did too.
