In her third marriage to Alfonso d’Este, Lucrezia had a sister-in-law named Isabella d’Este who disliked her. Most importantly, Isabella complained about her in letters, accusing her of 'terrible' things: that Lucrezia loved to stay in bed late into the morning while her ladies-in-waiting were forced to wait for her to finally get up and allow them to dress, wash, and do her hair. And my personal favorite — Isabella was outraged that Lucrezia took too much care of her hair and washed it too often: three times a week! According to Isabella, she was wasting a huge amount of time on it.
