I don’t think Cassian or Azriel have more than one name each. I know people got salty about Lucien getting a last name and not Cas or Az, but I don’t think they were given one. I think Illyrians may only give their children one name.

Here are my thoughts (not in great detail).

I’m reading this book on Mongolia and the rise of Genghis Khan, and the author talks about how the nomadic peoples didn’t give their children last names or anything. They got one name and that was it. It makes sense that Illyrians may care more about tribe or clan associations, than individual last names.

The only other thought I have on this is that Cassian is said to live in the steppes. In our world, that word is only used to describe grasslands in southeastern Europe or Siberia. Basically, where nomadic tribes have lived for thousands of years—tribes, like the ones Genghis khan grew up in, that only gave their children one name.

I just...wouldn’t be surprised if this were the case.
