the last time I reblogged this post right before I got a great job, in a permanent work-from-home position, with benefits, retirement, and a salary literally 3x what I was making before, doing something I really like.
I just finished Improvised Flow and I really liked it :D Such a wonderful time, with sprinkles of angst and lore and also a moment that almost made me tear up
Just gonna go ahead and list some things that I want to talk a bit about in chronological order... and not in much detail or anything b/c I am too lazy tonight (and most nights in general tbh) to put my functioning braincells to work
The first thing that struck me is how this is now the fourth time in a five star memory where MC has tripped/fallen and Sylus has reacted in an alarmed manner. Where Hearts Live, Alternative Darkborne and Lovespeed Ride have all had scenes like that. This, coupled with how Sylus' latest solo five star was about him caring for his sick girlfriend (including a scene where he cradles her tenderly in his arms), is giving me major MC died and/or was very ill in one of their past lives flags. Judging by Sylus' reactions alone, it really does seem like he has trauma linked to MC tripping/falling. And atp the devs really are hitting us over the head with this, or at least it feels like it. So in short, I am pretty certain that this is some sort of foreshadowing for the third myth.
Moving from one depressing subject to another
This is just... horribly sad. Reminding us of what a difficult life Sylus has had.
"I learned how to pass the time in the dark"
This can be seen as references both to his time sealed up inside the abyss for almost two thousand years, as well as his imprisonment in the space-time prison for God knows how long. And very likely other incidents that we don't know about yet because this poor man can never catch a break.
As to the "chaos and bloodshed" observation, it's a reminder of how normalized violence is in Sylus' world. Has been as far back as before the start of Beyond Cloudfall, then his rebirth in the nebula what with the Hunger Games like atmosphere he and MC had to endure as kids, becoming a fugitive and the most wanted criminal in the history of Philos (most definitely a result of wrecking the place), landing in the N109 Zone right as it went to shit etc. Basically all his existence, as far as we know.
For a man who, in his soul, wanted nothing more than to gaze at the moon and roll in a field of flowers with his beloved, this is tragic on its own.
However, MC's supposition is also in line with an aspect of Sylus that I've briefly talked about, namely that Sylus, for all that he does have a floral scented soul and a good heart, came to enjoy, or at least be entertained by, destruction and chaos. We see some of that in Beyond Cloudfall, but more especially the first and fourth Timelock Keys actually state this to be the case outright (1st Timelock Key: "He arrives at the most inopportune moment. Buildings collapse and order crumbles, yet this brings him newfound pleasure". 4th Timelock Key: "Amused, he watches as humanity rises and falls. They race one another to plunge into the abyss of desire" – this second quotation is most likely referring to the N109 Zone gang wars, but could also mean civilizations across centuries or millennia). So chaos and ruin = just another way to pass the time, indeed.
Does this make Sylus an evil person? No, I don't think so. But nor is he a perfect or pure cinnamon bun, either. He's not a monster. He's not a saint. He is multifaceted, to put a complex nature in simple terms. And I adore this about him! The most compelling characters, imo, are the ones who's morality and psyche make for interesting analysis. Characters that cannot be boiled down into one thing, even if they may lean more heavily in one direction. I 100% believe Sylus to be predominantly good, but he absolutely has darker sides to him. As do we all (though most of us would probably not find diversion in the collapse of society, or invade others' minds, or be capable of turning men into specs of dust without blinking, even assuming we did have those abilities dhskdh).
With this paragraph, I'm officially done with the heavier stuff! Moving along
This is wo wholesome! I love the way that SylusMC consistently are each other's "first" in so many ways ;-; very precious aspect of their relationship to me!
I will freely admit that I am SO RELIEVED they did it this way! That Sylus' dancing wasn't a public performance but more so a private mating dance ijbol (a mating dance that worked btw since MC did join him on stage, before they then proceeded to literally fuck).

Sylus literally is the embodiment of the "I just offered this girl the world so idk where the rest of y'all gone live but it can't be here" tweet. He deadass would. Like genuinely. I am sorry but no one will ever be able to measure up to this man. He actually puts his money where his mouth's at. He values deeds over words.
And finally, the part that almost made me cry and as such my favorite part of the whole card

MC loves Sylus so much I can't
We often gush over Sylus' love for MC (and rightfully so!) but MC's for Sylus is just as strong, and just as pure.
Just as she is Sylus' flower (and if you know the significance of flowers to Sylus, then you also know just how much that says of his adoration), Sylus is MC's sun. The light of her life, and her biggest source of warmth.
In her eyes, he is not a fiend. He is not the infamous criminal of the cosmos, nor the feared ruler of the N109 Zone. But Sylus.
As a Sylus and Caleb main the banner predictions are frightening. What do you mean AS rerun, then multi banner, then Caleb solo, then 2 banners after Sylus new myth!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? My dias 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
As a sylus and caleb main with a soft spot for Zayne, his new myth is making me rethink whether I should pull or not. (Need to save for a sylus myth rerun 😭😭😭😭😭😭)
