Trick or Treat (yandere Stelle x gn!reader)
⏾⋆.˚ : You met Stelle purely by coincidence, you never expected for her affections to turn so sickly sweet.
The first time you met her was purely coincidental.
It was late on the Herta Space Station, well as late as it could get in the middle of space, and you thought you were about to go insane. The file you had so painstakingly spent hours on crashed at the last minute, causing you to lose all your progress, just as you were about to smash the screen in a rage you took in a deep breath. Whatever, you weren’t going to waste away at this stupid desk for any longer.
It was quiet as you walked down the halls, most people had long since retired to their quarters. You wished you could’ve done the same but no, your shitty boss just had to dump all his work on you! The comfy bed in your dorm felt like a faraway dream and as your feet stomped loudly against the metal floors you wished the antimatter legion would just put you out of your misery.
It was then that you heard rustling beside you.
You peered around the corner to the adjacent hallway to find a trashcan. With… a girl.. sticking out of it?
There were a few moments of silence as you tried to process your thoughts before the… girl seemingly began to shift again.
“…What the hell are you doing?”
The movement paused once more before a tuft of gray hair whipped out of the can and turned to face you. The girl stared at you quietly, her amber eyes piercing into you.
“Uh… hello?”
“Hi.”
“….?” You scanned her up and down with a puzzled expression, “Um, are you looking for something…?”
The girl glanced at the trash can before turning her gaze back to you, “No, not really. I don't think so at least.”
“What?”
Suddenly, a loud rumble echoed through the quiet hallway, you glanced down thinking it came from you before slowly realizing the source of the sound was the woman in front of you.
She glanced down impassively, “Oh.”
Your eyes widened, “Huh? So you were just hungry? Still, it’s not good to eat from the trash you know.”
“That’s not-” you noticed that, despite her rather nonchalant expression, there was a light blush dusting her pale cheeks, “That’s not what I was doing.”
“Hey I’m not here to judge you, seriously.” You started digging in your pockets, “So don’t get embarrassed ok?”
“No I really wasn’t-”
“Hold out your hand.”
“Huh?”
You sighed as the girl raised a brow, swiftly you tugged her palm open and laid it flat against yours before dropping something into it and closing her finger around it. With a gentle motion, you let go, “here.”
Her eyes narrowed before slowly unfurling her fingers to reveal three light pink pieces of candy.
“I usually carry something sweet on me, so you can keep those.” You averted your eyes as you bounced your heels slightly, suddenly feeling embarrassed, “You can throw them away if you want, but it’s probably better than eating trash.”
She blinked owlishly at her palm before unwrapping a piece and popping it into her mouth, her face scrunching slightly.
“Oh, sorry, do you not like strawberry?”
“No, it’s good.” She met your eyes as she sucked on the candy thoughtfully, “….Thanks.”
You grinned sheepishly, “Don’t sweat it.”
A chime tung through the halls as the speakers played the ‘morning’ announcement signaling the start of the work day. You suppressed a groan as you realized you’d probably have to pull yet another all nighter.
You gave one final glance at the girl before sending her a small smile, “Well, I’d better get going, try to stay out of the trash, yeah?”
Stelle continued to blink owlishly before simply saying, “Okay.”
And with that you turned on your heel and walked towards another hellish work day, completely oblivious to the amber eyes that remained firmly fixed on your back.
Your second encounter was less of a coincidence.
“A stellaron?”
“That’s right!” Your boss exclaimed, he had been yammering about the file you sent being late but once you explained why it was late and your mysterious encounter his eyes widened into saucers, “I can’t believe you ran into the Stelleron and didn’t even stop to question her!”
“Im sorry sir but she just looked like a normal girl…”
The man opposite to you scoffed as he rolled his eyes, “You really didn’t take any notice, she’s practically a legend around the station for catching Madame Herta’s interest! Just how thick headed are you?”
You grit your teeth, maybe I would be more in touch if you hadn’t been piling your work on me, “Apologies sir.”
“No matter, I doubt someone like you would interest Ms. Stelle anyways.” A broad back came into view as your boss turned to walk away, “Also I’ll need the next project proposal submitted by tonight, don't be late.”
You could practically feel the hours of overtime pounding against the confines of your skull, “Yes sir.”
As you glared at your boss’ retreating back you couldn't repress the sigh crawling up your throat. Still, even if your shitty boss just gave you more work he also gave some pretty good information. You’ve learned three things: first, that suspicious gray haired girl’s name was Stelle, second, she’s a nameless traveling the cosmos with the Astral Express, and finally she’s an extraordinary being housing something as enigmatic as a stelleron within her own body. It really was an incredible coincidence you managed to run into someone like her. Still, you thought nothing of it, after all you doubt you ever run into her again. Just as you thought that a blur of gray flashed in your peripheral vision.
Speak of the devil.
With a turn of your head you found familiar amber eyes zeroed in on you. Stelle stood there, stock still, with a pink haired companion— who you recognized to be March 7th— chattering by her side. Startled by the intense gaze you gave a small wave and a half hearted smile.
“Oh and Himeko said we should pick something up for her- hey where are you going?!” March yelled as her gray haired companion made a beeline towards you.
You inhaled sharply when she stopped right in front of you, her full attention burning into you. You gulped, “Uh, h-hey, what a coincidence seeing you here.”
Stelle stared at you blankly for a few moments before slowly outstretching her hand, her open palm hovering in front of you. You glanced quizzically between her palm and her face before letting out a confused hum. In turn, the nameless tilted her head, an innocent expression on her face, “You’re not going to give me any candy?”
“Stelle!” March had caught up to you two and smacked the other girl’s arm, “Don’t be so rude! You can’t just ask a stranger for something like that!” She turned to you apologetically, “I’m so sorry about her, she just does these things sometimes!”
An amused chuckle escaped your lips and your eyes softened at their antics, “It’s quite alright, we’ve actually met before.”
“Oh. So you two know each other?”
“Something like that. Stelle, look here.”
Stelle perked up at the sight of your fist dropping a familiar pink candy into her palm.
“Sorry, I’ve only got one this time.” You grinned, “If you ever want any more, come find me.”
Stelle closed her fingers around the candy as if it were something precious, her eyes bright, “Okay.”
Your life used to be the same song and dance. Wake up, eat, work, sleep, work, work, workworkworkwork-
Dealing with your shitty boss drone on about all his projects that you knew he would just dump on you eventually, and hearing that stupid Kappo Kali ad repeat for the billionth time-
Your life had been drab, monotonous. Until, Stelle appeared.
After your last encounter she would often dawdle behind you every time the Astral Express landed at the space station, her palms open as she eyed you expectedly. She was like… a puppy. That’s right, you could practically see her tail wagging as you dropped a few pieces of pink candy into her hands.
It was a typical day on the Space Station, aka, your boss lecturing you on something that was entirely his fault. You would have been more upset if it weren’t for the fact that you knew the Astral Express was set to arrive that day. Just as your mind began to drift to Stelle’s pretty face your ears rang as your boss shouted.
“You dimwit are you even listening to me?!”
Slightly startled, you bowed apologetically, “I-I’m sorry sir, I just haven’t been getting much sleep lately…”
“You think you’re the only one who’s tired? I work my ass off too but you don’t see me lolling my head around like an idiot do you?”
You grit your teeth, ‘Liar, you always make me do your work.’
“I’m sorry.”
“You think sorry will cut it-”
Just as the man looking close to smacking his file against your head you felt a pair of strong arms wrap around your waist.
Instantly your boss’ face paled, “M-Miss Stelle, what a pleasure to see you!”
Completely ignoring the man’s greeting, Stelle turned to face you, her chest pressing insistently into your back as she nuzzled your cheek, “[name], gimme candy.”
“Miss Stelle…?”
“S-Stelle, now is not the time-”
“Is he bothering you?” She finally tilted her head to half heartedly glance at your boss, “Should I get rid of him?”
You sucked in a breath, “Stelle.”
Stelle hummed at the clear scolding in your voice, in turn she only tightened her grip around you as she stared the man dead in the eye, “Sorry boss man but it looks like I’ll need to borrow your little assistant for a bit, you wouldn’t mind right?”
You could see his eye visibly twitch, still he maintained a polite smile, “No worries Miss Stelle! We were just wrapping this up anyways.” He shot a pointed look at you, as if to say ‘You will explain yourself later.’
You shrunk into Stelle’s hold as you averted your eyes, a blush dusting your cheeks. As soon as his back retreated out of sight you whipped your head around angrily.
“Aeons Stelle what were you thinking?! You can’t just interrupt him, and- and how could you say something like that-”
“Does he always treat you like that?”
“What?” Your eyes widened, “That’s beside the point!”
“No it’s not.” There was a deep crease in her brows and her nose scrunched in annoyance, “He can’t do that. It’s not fair.”
A tired sigh slipped past your lips as you slumped onto Stelle’s chest, “You’re right, it’s not fair, but not everyone can live like you.”
You felt her stiffen slightly behind you and instantly felt a pit form in your stomach.
“Sorry, thats not-”
“Do you want to live like me?” You felt the air knocked out of your lungs as she tightened her hold, her face nosing at the juncture of your neck, “You can, you know? Walk down the path of the Nameless, right by my side.”
Your mind wandered, thoughts of leaving this stifling job to Trailblaze with the members of the Astral Express, seeing universes you never would have within the confines of the space station. It was the perfect fantasy.
But in the end, that's all it was, a fantasy.
Gently, you pried Stelle’s hand from where they wrapped snug around your waist, “That sounds lovely Stelle, but it’s impossible.” A morose expression flashed across your features, “I… have a life here. I can’t just uproot years of progress to become a meaningless addition to the express.”
“You’re not meaningless!” For the first time she seemed truly angry, her eyes blown out and brows furrowed, “You don’t even like it here!”
“Stelle. That's enough.”
The gray haired girl bit her lip, clearly hoping to say more. Still, she could not deny the firmness in your tone. Instead she burrowed her face deeper into your shoulder, a low whine crawling out of her throat.
You huffed before muttering softly, “Im sorry okay, but thats just how life is.”
Stelle remained quiet in your shoulder for a few moments. You then heard a muffled mumble prickle your skin, “Earlier, I saved you didn’t I? So gimme some candy.”
“Seriously? That’s all you have to say.” You let out an exasperated sigh but still went to dig in your pockets, “Here.”
Stelle glanced at the candy you procured, her eyes narrowed at the yellow wrapper, “…a different flavor?”
“Oh yeah. They were out of my favorite this time so I had to make do. You don’t want it?”
She eyed the piece before plucking it from your hand, she spoke once more after popping it into her mouth, “If I could fix it would you come with me?”
“What?”
“Your life.” Her thumb rubbed mindlessly at your neck, “If I could fix your life would you stay by my side?”
You couldn't help but chuckle, your eyes turning to face the vast expanse of space, “Sure.”
Stelle didn’t say anything after that, her gaze fixed on your wistful eyes.
It’s been months since Stelle’s last visit.
You shifted uncomfortably in your bed, your teeth gnawing on your thumb. It wasn’t like you to worry so excessively over things like this but she had always been consistent with her visits before. Maybe you had been too harsh last time? She was just trying to help after all.
Just as you were about to pick up your phone you heard a knock at your door. Your head shot up, eyes narrowed, you weren’t expecting any visitors today? Carefully, you crawled out of your sheets, footsteps lightly padding against the floor as you reached for the door handle and cracked the door open slightly.
Immediately, you felt a pair of amber eyes pierce through you.
“Stelle?” You mumbled, “What are you… how did you know where my room was? No more importantly, why didn’t you tell me the astral express was stopping by today?”
“I have my ways.” She shot you her signature smile, but it looked stretched and uncanny, “I wanted to surprise you.”
“O-oh, well.” You mustered up a small smile, “Would you like to come in..?”
“No it’s ok. Actually I came to fetch you.” She quickly gripped onto your wrist, pulling you out of the doorframe, “Come on, let’s go to the express, you always said you wanted a tour one day didn’t you?”
“What? Wait Stelle, this is kinda sudden.” You huffed as she dragged you towards the docking station, “Are you sure they’ll even let me on, w-we should think this through!”
“Don’t worry, I’ve already prepared everything.”
You didn’t really know what she was talking about. There was something in your gut telling you to shake her off and start running for your room but… you trusted Stelle, so you kept walking forward in hurried steps.
When you two finally reached the steps, the doors opened to reveal an extensive party car. You had never seen the express’ interior, only a tinted blurred image from the windows, so you couldn’t help the small gasp you let out. The car Stelle brought you to was suited with a fully functioning bar, there was a mechanical attendant cleaning a glass before mechanically saying ‘would you like anything to drink, Miss Stelle?’
Stelle ignores the machine, dragging you further down the car until you reach a flight of stairs, “My room’s just upstairs, c’mon.”
You were a bit unsettled by this sudden excursion, but you couldn’t deny that your heart held the faintest spark of excitement. You wondered how the famed nameless who trailblazed through all sorts of worlds could possibly decorate their quarters. Stelle twisted the door to her room before pulling you in.
The door clicked shut behind her.
Stelle’s room wasn’t anything glorious, but rather than being disappointed you found that it suited her. She never seemed like the type to worry about unnecessary things. You took a few tentative steps towards her unmade bed, the sheets tangled and haphazardly pushed to the side as if she had left it in a hurry. Before you could examine it any further you felt a firm weight push you onto the mattress.
“Oof!” You turned to see Stelle plopped on top of you, her face nuzzling into the crook of your neck.
As she nosed against your jaw she muttered quietly, “Do you like it here?”
You huffed out a tiny laugh, “Yeah, it’s cute, homey.”
Stelle chirped at that, her arms circling around your waist as she sunk deeper into your sternum, “That’s good, you won’t have to adjust as much.”
“Huh, what’s that supposed to mean—?”
Suddenly you heard a loud whirring sound resonate through the room, the bed vibrating slightly beneath you.
“…What was that?”
“You know how you said if I could fix everything you’d stay?”
“Stelle?” The room shook a bit and the whirring seemed to get even louder, “What is that.”
“Well, guess what, I did it! I fixed everything! You don’t have to worry anymore.”
The room was shaking, and you could’ve sworn you heard an engine starting, a pit started to form in your stomach, dread slowly crawling up your throat, “Stelle.”
“Himiko was so understanding you know? She knew that we were meant to be. And you know what? That shitty boss of yours folded so fast. The moment I brought Herta up he paled and let go of you immediately. People like that really don’t deserve you y’know. Your place was always meant to be right here, next to me.”
“Stelle.” Your eyes were burning, the thump of your heart beating against your skull, “What have you done?”
The whirring grew louder and louder until suddenly the space in the car seemed to lurch, your stomach moving uncomfortably as if you had just sped through space in mere seconds. A pitched gasp left your lips. Stelle lifted her head from your neck, a sharp smile on her face. Her amber eyes which used to bring you so much comfort stared down at you like a predator.
“You said you couldn’t get a hold of the strawberry ones, right?” She dug into her pocket before pulling out a piece of pink candy, “I managed to snag some, so they were from your home planet huh?” She began to unwrap the candy and pinched it between her fingers before gently bringing it down to press against your lips, “Here, your favorite.”
You jerked your head to the side, “Please, Stelle.”
“What? You don’t want it? But I worked so hard to get this for you…” she pouted, “Guess it can’t be helped.”
You sobbed, “Let me go.”
She popped the candy into her mouth before digging into your jaw with a bruising grip forcing you to face her. Gently she pressed her lips against yours, another sob left you and you pressed your lips into a tight line. With an irritated growl she nipped at your lip and you gasped in pain. She wasted no time in pushing her tongue into the cavity of your mouth, the sweet strawberry candy falling into your mouth.
After successfully transferring the candy Stelle placed a few more gently pecks against your bruised lips before finally pulling back, licking her lips, “It’s good right? See? I know just how to take care of you.” She went to nose at your jaw once more, “So just stay right here, just like you’re meant to, ok?”
You could only sob silently, the sickly sweetness numbing your tongue.
