And I've got a big question for y'all. I'm told that, due to timezone differences, our friends in the Europe struggle with the usual 12:00 pm PST prompt drop.

The 24-hour time limit for prize eligibility would still apply. So, as an example, for PST folks, the 24-hour window would shift to 9:00 am 9/1 - 8:59 9/2 on prompt #1, and so on.

9:00 am PST is the only option on the table for a potential prompt drop time adjustment. Please understand that there is no prompt drop time of day that will work perfectly for everyone. Adjusting to a 9:00 am PST start would allow a fair range of writing times for a broader majority.

DPC and DPL.  Dead People’s Clothes and Dead People’s Leather. Their toys, their paintings of half naked, naked, screwing men.  The statues.  The leather.  The sling.  The posters.  The ... all of it. We’d literally Straighten homes.  Depending.  Some families knew and were fine. Or more ok.  But pictures of other guys on phones was the least of it. I have... leather that’s been passed through three or four men who’ve died before getting to me.  They’re the heirlooms now, passed down chosen families.   Sometimes there were crews.  We’d show up as soon as possible, as a unit.  We’d hit the bedrooms first.  Clear out closets, under beds, bedsides.  We’d donate, throw out, take mementos.  Pass on.  Secret lives and secret, us only treasures.   Then we’d leave.  For some family’s you never talked about it.  They never knew.  It was better all around.   I have vests, gloves.  A belt.  Arm bands.  Paintings.  T-shirts.  Photos, undeveloped film that’d I’m still somewhat terrified to try to get developed (lol).  We live on in the living rooms of others.

-> Hel, the song of the goddess of the dead. Luna has the most parallels with this woman

She is the one who made us realize the parallels, as she was pushed into the Orbonne Monastary when she was but 16 years old, similar to how Hel was thrown from Asgard. Her fall left her body broken, but she crawled out as a wandering spirit and was like that for over 150 years. Divine intervention was needed to get her body back to rights, but she was given her body back. Dawntrail is when she really comes into her own. While she is primarily a dancer, she makes use of her WHM and RPR skills in Alexandria. She is a nurse for the elderly who are close to passing and a healer for the hunters. She miiiiiight also have scared the pants off of Calyx in the Necron fight...

While butterflies aren't a symbol of Hel, butterflies ARE symbols of transformation, hope and rebirth, and can even be seen as messengers from the spirit world. Plus butterflies make Luna happy.

Talon carries parallels with the Bane of Odin. His shackles are not physical, but are the hidebound traditions of the Wood Warders. And he admits that the forest of Golmore was more of a prison rather than a home.

-> Powersnake, aka the song of Jörmundgandr, and his parallels with @ashewindrider's Moondance k'Treva. (They made the screens and are letting me post them. :3)

Moondance is Jörmundgandr, the one who in theory has the most freedom of the three, where he is the wanderer of the world. Whereas Jörmundgandr lies in waiting of revenge, Moondance has been terrorizing Garlemald since they first began taking over their neighboring territories. Having his great-grandchildren around (the Jiang line came from him and a woman named Jinghai Jiang, a pirate queen) around has made the chaos more fun.

I'm Option #1: My middle name is my mom's name. But I'd like to know if that practice is very common or not.

When someone gives the advice of “don’t be afraid to disappoint your parents” they don’t just mean taking music theory in college or starting a YouTube channel.

It also means wearing things they might not approve of. Using accommodations that they might not think you need. Not falling for their guilt trips. Eating when you’re hungry, not when it suits them and their idea of your weight or health. Making your own friends instead of seeking the stamp of approval from them.

Of course, some parents are stricter than others, and some use abuse to keep you from expressing yourself. But do what you can, even if it seems small.

Otherwise, when your parents are no longer in the picture, you’ll try to find it somewhere else to get validation. A strict boss, an abusive partner, a selfish friend.

Going against your parent’s wishes is developmentally healthy. Not doing so stunts your independence and self-regulation. You shouldn’t be living to constantly please others, even the people who love you.
