Virgils here! It ain’t a party...until I have anxiety. AHHH Very proud of this and I had a lot of fun doing his sweater and clothing! Also his spider boots that Patton would be scared of 😂
Here is an artwork of my Princey boi that I did! Listening to songs that represent him in my playlist really boosted my motivation and I did this in a day! Also shoutout to my love of butterflies because man are they beautiful!
Here is a little analysis that I have made while watching reactions to selfishness vs selflessness.
The whole video was not about Janus trying to prove that Thomas wasn’t a bad person (like he says at the end of the video), he was trying to help Roman.
Janus is not only Deceit, but also Self-Preservation.
Self-preservation is an internal instinct to protect and keep the individual safe from any harm. I don’t believe that Janus is just Thomas’s self-preservation, but all the other sides as well.
Janus makes sure that Logan is aware of his job by asking what he represents. Logic. Logan also elaborates later that he controls Thomas’s right arm and is the core operations for Thomas’s language center.
Then when it’s Virgil’s time he does the same and gets cut off by Virgil.
Then Virgil asks why he’s doing that and that he should cut to the chase.
This caught me off guard because I too was confused on why Janus felt the need to do this if he knows who they all are. He even does it with Roman when he asks “Isn’t it your sworn duty to help Thomas achieve his hopes and dreams?”
I think he does this so that the sides can assure that they are doing they’re job. Logan is being logical, Virgil is Thomas’s fear about this situation and Roman is helping Thomas achieve what’s best for him.
Now that that is settled, that Janus is Self-preservation to the rest of the sides, this is where the main theory comes in. This whole thing has been about Thomas doing what is best for him, which Patton believes to be wrong. Think bout it.
Patton is saying that Roman’s job is wrong. Roman is the ego. He is Thomas’s dreams and desires and Thomas wants to go to the callback and be ‘selfish’, because he is picking himself over his friends important day.
There is a moment where Janus talks about egoism, to which Patton responds with “That’s wrong!” And you can see Janus look at Roman as he talks in the scene.
Janus is referring to Roman in this part, but Patton just sees Janus being this bad side who wants Thomas to be a bad guy, unaware that it’s also effecting Roman, see how Roman looks intriguingly at Janus and listening to what he has to say.
Patton is being the selfish one.
Why do you think Janus put Roman as the judge? Because this truly is Roman’s dilemme. He has to chose between what HE thinks is right vs what HE truly wants...and that is the most difficult thing to pick, but in the end he disobeyed his own ego and went to the wedding which we know now hurt Thomas and led to Roman’s outburst.
PS: This hurts more after the events of SVSRedux, because Janus was just trying to help Roman, but Patton was making Roman’s job and duty seem like something an evil person would do and act like, which we know really hurts Roman.
(Idk if this makes sense but I really wanted to get my opinion out there.)
Hello world. And people.
