“Oh, I just came to see how’ve you been doing? It’s a shame I can’t remember the last time we hung out.” She said as she neared him, taking his offered hands within his own. “Likewise, I’ve... been keeping myself busy as of late.” She explained, although it was only practicing more than she really needed to be doing.

He understood her hesitance, her need to want to stay away from him even. He wouldn’t blame her if she quickly dismissed their conversation, either. “Of course not.” In other words, I’m smarter than that. He was sure other wolves had already smelled him a long time ago. They must have been alert of his presence just as she was. If he were to attack her, it would have been like bringing a knife to a gun fight. “First time and day here. I’m not from around here. My curiosity got the best of me and decided it would do some good to venture out.” Crimson hues looked around for a moment, before focusing back on the wolf in front of him. “Is this a nightly thing?””

“Oh, you’re not?” That surprised her, that this being his first day in the region. She wondered where he’d come from, and why he’d find himself down in the underbank, of all places. Perhaps he’d gotten lost, and instead of going back home he’d stay for the show. “Welcome, then. Hope the city has been treating you well enough.” Knowing the city that might not always be the case, though from her perspective she isn’t often treated very well. “Not exactly, no. We try to do it on the weekends, but some times it’ll change to a week night depending. Especially if there is a full moon close.” She explained, doing it on the weekends gave them the week to rest and prepare for another set of shows.

Hearing the word birthday, Pax turned on his heel. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” He hummed, scooping the smaller wolf up in his arms in a bear hug. “Let’s good you a cake or something? Cookies?”

She wasn’t expecting someone to literally pick her up and be hugged. It was a little much, but she went with it because he was generally very nice. “Thank you.” She said once she was put down. “Um, cake? Cake.” She nodded, “Not a big one, though, I’d hate to waste it.”

“Is it bad that I almost completely forgot today was my birthday?” She asked, to no one in particular, after so many years the day didn’t seem as special as any other day. She didn’t have any plans for it, either, maybe she’ll get herself a little cupcake.

She’d walked a little too far, she thought. Rowan was slowly getting more bold about exploring the Underbank but that had grown to maybe a little too bold as she started to look at it’s surroundings. She’d been trying to stay close, not wanting to dare venture out far enough that she might come across vampires – but then she’d gotten lost in thought about her old life, and her family. All too soon it would be coming up on the anniversary of her capture, and therefore her loss.

It meant both that she’d wandered a little too far, and that she was on edge. At least she hadn’t left the woods – but she was certainly further from the Underbank than she’d wanted to be. Immediately she stepped backwards, and turned around to head back – hearing her heart beating loudly in her ears.

Jade had just gotten back from the city, she occasionally went out of her way to to visit certain people and to do certain things. On her way back she spotted someone she didn’t really recognize, then again she didn’t know everyone who lived in the underbank. Wanting to be a bit more social she jogged forward to catch up with them. “Hey.” She said, sidling up next to them with her hands clasped behind her back. “Are you heading back? We could walk together, if you don’t mind.”

Geraldo was attempting to mind his own business, but when someone crossed his path that look less than amused, he was curious. “Hey, you all right?” he asked, curious if they’d toss him aside or accept his attempt to speak to them. “I’m on my way to my shop, why don’t you join me for a cup of coffee?”

The fact that the only store where she could get the things she needed for her routine had been closed that day had left her in a bit of a sour mood. That was the only reason she’d come to the city to begin with, but now she felt her time had been wasted when she could have been doing anything else. She was all wrapped up in her own thoughts when someone spoke to her. “Me? I’m alright, yeah.” She said, his offer had her feeling a certain way, though a cup of coffee sounded nice with how cold it’s been. “Okay, as long as this isn’t some trick or anything.”

Leonie lit up a joint for herself and then held out the lighter to light Jade’s “I think that we’ve all been guilty of that, Luna. You mustn’t be so hard on yourself for it. What matters is if you learned from it at all?” she wondered, placing her own joint between her lips and taking a heavy hit from it.

“Does never leaving the Underbank count as learning something?” She huffed, not realizing she was still annoyed at the whole fiasco. She didn’t really think she’d be able to keep herself from wandering, but right now just saying it made her feel a bit better. “I have to be hard on myself, no one else is going to be.” She shrugged, her uncle might, but the less her knew the better.

“True, it’s a little impressive the things he can do with those weights.” She had to admit, laughing along with him. She wasn’t even going to assume that she’d be able to keep up with him. “I’m sure we could find something for you to do, maybe you could be a clown? They make bank on being uncoordinated and stuff.”

“You certainly put on a good show.” He hadn’t meant to sneak up on her. As it was, he already knew how this came off, most especially since the pair were alone together. The last thing he wanted was to get ganged up on by wolves right now, or cause any sort of commotion. After all, it would be good to make some allies with the enemy. Zhongli leaned against the pole beside him, arms crossed. “And no, I’m not here to hurt you. I’d simply like to commend you on your performance.”

Ever since her run in with the prince she’d been keeping herself busy within the circus, having to give herself some time to heal from that run in. Her arms were still sore, but not unusable so she was able to perform as she normally did. She smelled him before he even spoke, so she wasn’t caught off guard by his presence. No one really stayed behind unless they were part of the staff, “Thank you.” She said, a little unsure of how to act. “Wouldn’t be very smart if you were looking for that, here.” She hummed as she pulled the hair tie out of her hair. “Was this your first time?”

She had to bite on her tongue a bit to keep herself from laughing too loudly. See him where he was currently at wasn’t something she’d expected to see. “Guess you don’t work out too much, do you?” She asked, sitting herself down next to him. She’d seen the guards working out, and thought they weren’t any different than what she went through almost daily. “Don’t think the circus would be up your alley either.”

She might have been embarrassed by her choices, the ones that ended with her getting hurt in the end. Her own stubbornness to prove she wasn’t weak backfired on her, which wasn’t super shocking. Now she just wanted to forget about the whole ordeal for a little while. “Thank you.” She said looking down at the joint before picking it up. “I was just being really stupid. Trying to prove something, I don’t know.”

No one could say that Alex didn’t try to use his words. The moment the wolf’s stubborn refusal came out, Alex tightened his grip and with one swift movement (barely visible to even the vampire eye), Alex snapped the wolf’s arm right out of place, dislocating it. “One wing down,” he joked, releasing her from his grip. He wanted to see what she would do in return, whether she would actually try to fight him, run away, or stubbornly continue to insist she wasn’t defenceless here. “Your move, little bird.”

She wasn’t sure what he was up to or what he’d planned on doing with her arms, well, she considered he’d actually break them. Instead, he went and dislocated one straight from the shoulder, and the pain shot through her. The back of her head hit the tree behind her as she groaned out in pain, in her head she was cursing rather consistently. “Fuck.” She breathed, it wasn’t the worst pain she’s had being in the circus had unintentionally prepared her for this. “Still not defenseless, asshole.” She said through gritted teeth, technically she still had her other arm though that wasn’t looking too good right now.
