She was not going to cry. Eveline took a deep breath and let it out slowly. Somehow, this past week had been the hardest since her Master had returned her to the city. It was all sinking in that everything had changed, for good and this was her life now. It could have been worse, and she did know that but she hadn’t truly had a chance to process. Her mother was gone and all Evie wanted to do was hug her, speak with her. The best she could do was visit this public space and feel like somehow being one with the nature around her let her communicate. She had no idea where her former Master was now but having not seen him since her return, it was really was hitting her that she was unlikely to see him again. There were other things too, how overwhelming it was to suddenly be around so many other slaves (and seeing some of them just made her want to mother them, honestly) as well as to suddenly be at the mercy of so many different vampires. Working at the spa was good, something of a refuge to escape her thoughts and do something she knew she was good at but it too was a different kind of overwhelming.
