eddie is a careful, meticulous, thorough person. he doesn’t jump into things. he thinks things through - ESPECIALLY when it comes to his son. this is the guy who wrote a LENGTHY email detailing Chris’ care before he took him for something as simple as a sleepover.
so the fact that he looked at evan buckley - sometimes reckless, sometimes dumb, young and childless with a dangerous job - and said yes, that one.
he would have considered every possibility, every outcome, every pro and con to leaving chris with his parents, or his aunt, or his sisters.
he still chose buck. buck who he had known for less than two years - he still said yes, that one.
christopher is eddie’s heart and soul, his purpose, the most unimaginably precious thing in his life and he took all that, put it on a platter, handed it to buck and entrusted him to keep it safe.
