“Looking for something?” - Dante, your choice if it's default or human verse!
God. What a smell. Cheap whiskey, dust, Italian take-out, strawberries..? And blood. A lot of blood. Belle crinkled her nose and nearly forgot why she'd even walked in with all this new information she was sorting through. She took half a step forward and leaned over to peek at some of the.. decorative pieces before the sound of a voice had her eyes snapping to the body it came from.
"Depends." she said, tilting her chin. Whatever the building smelled like, the source was definitely him. That brought an amused smile to her lips as she eyed him up. "Are you Dante?"
Pulling his feet from where they rested atop the desk and sitting forwards in his seat, Dante raised an eyebrow. He looked just about as bad as he smelled; fresh from a job and ready to sleep for a good eight or twelve hours if he got the chance. He rested his elbows on his knees and studied her.
"Depends," he answered. She didn't look like the type to come walking through his doors- but then again, no one ever really did. "If you're here for business, then no, not right now. If you're here for pleasure.." he hummed, the leaned back again and shrugged. "Honestly, then I'd probably just fall asleep on you."
"Oh? Should I take a walk around the block and come back?" His lazy nonchalance granted the permission she needed to move forward, her smile staying put as her eyes trailed the room again. He liked Noir and he was clearly cheeky about it. The low lighting, the muted colors, the desk he sat behind to listen to people beg him for help-- Belle wasn't sure where the irony stopped and the sincerity began.
She hummed in thought, her cheek dimpling in a smirk as she looked at him. "You're not going to make me walk all the way to Fortuna, are you?" she asked, though the sparkle in her eye made it more of a challenge.
He glanced up again when she moved forwards and fought an urge to outright roll his eyes. No one ever seemed to understand the meaning of not right now. He studied her, then shrugged again. "I might. Nero could use the work." And the money, he thought. Though he always seemed far better off than himself. He cocked an eyebrow at her remained where he was as she approached- a staunch, stubborn refusal to acknowledge her more than he already had.
"And I mean it, lady," he continued, crossing his arms. "Not right now. I just got done getting covered in demon bits. I'm not feeling it, so.." He waved a hand in a shooing motion. "Git."
Belle blinked and narrowed her eyes. For a second, she debated on turning back and finding someone a little more professional, but she'd already come all this way. With a deciding nod, she circled around the desk.
Hands on his armrests, Belle spun his chair so he was facing her before smiling sweetly and lifting him up to his feet by his shoulders. She didn't give him any time to react, her lips pulling into an excited grin right as she grappled the man and quickly threw him towards the ground. Following just as fast, she rolled until he was face first on the hardwood and her arms were snaked around his, pinning him there as she straddled his back.
"Listen here, young man." she started, hovering over his ear. "I walked all the way from Red Creek and you won't even hear me out? Legendary Demon Hunter my ass. Pardon my French." Belle huffed and shook her hair from her face, her expression fairly bright for the conversation they were having. "There's a big ol' demon encroaching on my territory and I would take care of it myself, but it's just a little too fat for me to sink my fangs into." she told him, "If it lures out and kills one more of my children I'll never forgive myself. I need your help to get rid of the damn thing."
Dante had almost tuned her out entirely before she started forwards and spun the chair around. He looked up at her, furrowed his brows, and parted his lips to give her another negative before he was jerked up onto his feet. His eyes widened as he moved to pull her hands off of him. "Whoa, hey-"
He was used to being thrown around a fair bit, but this time he was still reeling as she pinned him to the ground. He could feel her knee digging into his back and grimaced. "Christ, woman," he started, struggling a little against her just to further test her strength, "You sure you need my help? Looks like you've got this whole kinda thing figured out.."
He turned his face so he could look back at her and found himself sighing. She'd come this far and she didn't look like the type to give in, exactly. "Ah, christ. Get the fuck off me and I might consider it."
With a soft laugh, she squeezed a little harder as he squirmed. He was strong and a demon-- If he really tried he could probably get the upper hand, but she couldn't deny the near giddiness it brought to push around someone so evenly matched to herself. It'd been a long while since she could roughhouse with someone without worrying about breaking them.
"That's more like it!" Belle released her grip and moved off him. Standing up she dusted herself off before offering a smile and her hand. "I thought you'd be quicker than that." she teased, "What will Redgrave say if it got out their Legendary hunter got pinned by a school teacher?"
