Going through my naruto phase 15 years too late is truly embarrassing.

I’ve been working on this little comic for a while and it’s been a real joy! I’ll probably post the rest of this comic tomorrow cuz it has absolutely flopped on every other social media.

This will be my last naruto comic for a little bit, but I had so much fun making these that the odds of me never doing another one are slim. I’m going to gather them all up to make a zine out of soon.

These kids really are giving Asuma a run for his money lmao

Thinking about how in Naruto Asuma and Kurenai got all the clan kids vs Guy and Kakashi got all the fucked up orphans and basically became their parents by default, so when Guy and Kakashi are like “my kids” blah blah blah, Asuma and Kurenai are like you shouldn’t call them that they’re ninja treat them with respect, and Guy and Kakashi are like wtf and realize they are in two very different worlds

she's crying in the rain because she's sorry and she feels responsible and undeserving for what happened to him (he was experimented on and tortured partly so that she could regain health) and she can't even bring herself to see his face (literally walked all the way to his street but couldn't go all the way and turned back) meanwhile he's following her and moving obstacles out of her way and shielding her from the rain. but he's also keeping his distance, he's not carrying the umbrella himself he's using his powers to protect her, without covering himself from the rain. that's a great twist on the umbrella trope because it's usually meant to get characters closer to one another, to touch or look into each other's eyes but she's not even aware he's here getting all wet in thre rain while she's crying for him!!!

and it's a nice parallel with her taking care of him while he was sleeping and having nightmares a few days ago in his apartment (the place she can't go back to but that she decorated and soundproofed while he was sleeping so he'd be more comfortable).
