For now I'm calling it the "Not Like Yourself" series, but i'm not sure yettt
It's coming of age, YA, queer, closed door, but it does have a lot of graphic violence and heavy topics soo idkkk
If you like books like the Boys of Tommen series (minus spice, plus queerness) you'd enjoy mine!
My story is set in the fictional town of Westmere in the County of Dorset in England, and since I'm not british, nor is English my first language I'm trying veryy hard to learn a lot of british phrases and culture.
I'm planning on 5 books, one for each main character.
Luise, James, Clara, Flora and Oscar were best friends in childhood but they lived apart and have quite different lives now, they live on the same street and attend the same school but barely have any contact.
Luise's book will be called The Poet, because that's what they called her when playing as kids, this is also the concept for the other titles!
I am actually kind of planning on a 6th book, but it would be a spoiler to say who it is for, plus I am currently not even halfway through book 1, so it's a long wayyy.
I would love some support and I really really hope I can publish this series one day and become someone's favorite author or write someone's comfort series!
I would also love some feedback and I want to know if anyone's really interested and if I should post about the love interests and if so about all of them or just the ones they really end up with (there's not that many anyway but stilll)!
feel free to answer or dm me (only about this though, i mean not creepy stuff and alll)
info: Luise's perspective, Elliot is her best friend, they call each other Batman and Spiderman, sweet/angsty igg, not properly proofread
I didn’t know why I felt this terrible now, sitting on the floor of the Bell’s patio in the dark, a cigarette in hand, while Batman was fussing around with the pizza inside. For your information, we had put it in the oven an hour ago, it was meant to be finished 30 minutes ago, but it wasn’t even crispy or brown now, it certainly hadn’t been then. “Bah, it still has the texture of bubble gum!”, Elli exclaimed from inside. I forced on a small smile that nobody even saw, leaning back against the glass window. I felt terrible, I didn’t know why. I thought telling my closest friend about what had happened to me would help me, get it off my chest, but it just made me relive everything, and I didn’t understand why. Elliot didn’t do anything wrong, I thought I hadn’t either. My hair would’ve looked like hay if it weren’t covered by my hood, even though I had washed it today, which made me so goddamn angry, my face was bare, since my earlier tears had ruined everything anyway I had used a few old make up wipes found in Monica’s empty room, and now I felt and certainly looked like hungry Megan Fox in Jennifer’s Body.
A fluffy, scratchy, grey tiger looking creature got thrown onto my lap; Tinkerbell, the 13-year-old cat the Bell siblings named when they were tiny. Elli flopped down next to me: “I put it back in for 10 more minutes, I don’t know what Mum put into that dough, but it’s not- normal.”, he chuckled slightly, only to sigh when he saw I still looked and acted like a ghost. I slowly shook my head, tapping some ash off my cigarette, glancing over at him, my free hand hesitantly scratching Tinkerbell’s head: “I’m okay, Elli, I swear. I don’t know why I’m like this now, I’m glad I told you. Maybe I’m just tired.” “It’s only 8:30, Luise.” “I’m mentally tired, I think. You know my head’s always a mess. But- I’m glad I’m here and not home, you know. I’m glad I have you.” An arm wrapped around my shoulder as I exhaled a cloud of smoke: “You’re my best friend, you know, and my sister, not only when Moni’s not here.” “Yeah?” “Yeah.”
first of all, I'm planning on a book for each of them (only on book 1 though), ya, coming of age, set in England, 2025, fictional town called Westmere, if u like bot you'll like this!
