hello hello! i just wanted to give you compliments about your art & posts about marduk & reizo that i have stumbled upon. the colors and tension and vibes in them is amazing!
they are very intriguing to me as a pair. who they are as characters individually and their story progressing over time is so good
would love to know more about them! whatever you’re willing to share 👀
OMG YIPPIE PERMISSION TO INFODUMP :DDDD
Basically, they are gw2 rp characters from a thoroughly planned campaign which is nearing its end (Marduk is mine, Reizo belongs to @misterleilani). The concept is as follows:
What if 2 horrible, divorced 38 year old men with incredible issues and a million red flags got locked into every jail in Tyria together?
FACTOIDS ABOUT THE IDIOTS:
Reizo Nishi is a Minsec Officer, badly divorced to a tech-CEO ex-wife who has tanked his reputation in New Kaineng. He is a control freak, too stubborn and prideful to walk away from danger, complains endlessly (though that might have something to do with the situations we put him in, to be fair). He hates being alone and secretly cares a lot (maybe too much, hence the ex-wife). He's loyal, quick-witted and funny as hell, he just doesn't get the chance to exercise those qualities much before he happens upon-
Marduk, former fighting instructor for younglings in a largos village near Cantha. After getting de-facto exiled by his ex-wife, he has spent the past year or two doing angry push-ups in his man-grotto near Echovald. He is chronically depressed, a huge coward and veeeeeeeeeeeeeery insecure, but he buries those qualities deep inside and almost believes his own bullshit now. This has made him a sort of pompous asshole, impulsive to a dangerous degree and just about ready to take on that huge leviathan in Kaineng harbour everyone said to steer clear of.
Reizo, on the job, encounters Marduk's less than legal leviathan baiting methods and promptly tackles him into the harbor, where they get gobbled up by said leviathan and spit out on the other side of the unending ocean.
From there on, we've put them into all sorts of trouble : D
They fight! They make up! They fight again! They learn to rely on each other and grow juuuuuuuust a little attached! Even after the handcuffs trapping them together come off! Misunderstandings! Rope traps! Having to live off rats & sludge! Amnoon vacations that can never see the light of tumblr! Self-reflection?...Healing? Forgiveness? uHhhhm anyways
I've barely posted the tip of the iceberg when it comes to those two. Their art folder almost has 200 items in it. We also keep extensive logs of each chapter (501 pages right now :'D).
I COULD make their story into a visual novel with veeeeery little programming effort, but that would require me to have time to draw assets hahhahahahhah oh well
