What strikes me as the most crazy thing about capitalism is how much we really do need the rich to function. To propelle our banks and our savings, to provide buildings for health care and leasure and education, to give us department stores where we can buy our clothes and our groceries and to invest hundreds of dollars in a media system. Its a robbery in it's elemental way but at the same time is all we know. This is the society that constitutes our understanding of what being a social individual is, of what being a person in a place with a meaning is. And it could be very different, it could be a whole new fundation of life and societal structure but it would be rocky and painful and almost surely unnatanable in a lifetime, and the process... the process of adaptation that re-building our very essence would mean... We are capitalistic beings, and we don't really need the rich as humans but as capitalistic beings, we actually do. That's so fucked up. We thinks we would be ok with a different social-economic structure but I think it would still bring us terrible pain, we do are attached to the known, our desires are attached to the known, what would we be if striped of that? And fuck the rich, yeah, but in a way that's more like fuck god for building me this way, fuck this inextricable avid force that just eats and grows and accumulates, and that has a face but at the same time doesn't, at the same time is a vicious thing, a sinful thing. To be this Rich, to be The Rich, to create a world where you are god, to put the world-destruction button in the center your heart, you know what I mean? Anyway, just wednesday thoughts.
